Loved everything about this hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Attention to detail was everywhere, the rooms were so well designed for travelling, so clean and comfortable. It was so easy to relax, unwind and not want to leave.

Immaculate little resort next to a nature reserve, about 10min by car from Chiang Saen / Golden Triangle. Super friendly and helpful owners and staff. Restaurant with decent breakfast offers, excellent cooking for dinner. Nice pool area. Bungalows have a small elevated terrace for some privacy. Perfect for those who want to stay outside the city in the nature or for a stop over on a motorbike trip.

This place is paradise. Lots of bamboo buildings amidst gardens, fantastic views over hills and mountains. Lots of options at breakfast and for dinner (though for the latter, as in most places, not quite enough vegetarian options). Staff were all very friendly. The location is fairly isolated, but the resort itself is just a wonderful place to relax in a scenic, unpressured environment in the midst of beautiful gardens. Nice experience one day when a horse-riding monk from a nearby monastery turned up to collect offerings and bless the place.

We stayed in a mountain Suite. It was fabulous. . Wonderful room exceptional size with massive bathroom bath and separate shower. The most amazing views. . Breakfast outstanding with so much choice . Dining outstanding too . Staff extremely attentive and always going that extra mile. Nothing too much trouble. Definitely will be going back four nights just not long enough. Very secluded location but all part of the charm.

The staff were absolutely brilliant, always willing to help and on top of everything. My birthday was during this trip and they helped my partner surprise me with a cake and flowers for only 500 baht which made it really special. The pool was lovely, we went in everyday. Breakfast was included in my stay which was nice. Cleaned the room every day.

an old high-standard large hotel that has aged beautifully and of course you can feel time in its atmosphere, but it filled me with a good nostalgic feeling back to the late 80's, early 90's. Large rooms, classic wooden furniture, really excellent breakfast and perfect location. If you're in Chiang Rai, it's hard to find better!

Chiang Khong,lovely and great place. Very authentic border city. Can enjoy beatiful nature also(mountains and forests.) and can visit mountain villages,have beatiful handcrafts to purchase. Made by village people ,(not mass production or cheap copies) Can not find anywhere else.

I ❤️ Mae Salong. The clean crisp air and many local ethnic groups make this a great place to visit Love staying at Shin Sane GH or Little House GH. Each still offer great prices for cottages and Shin Sane still has the original rooms from wooden house and at a shoestring price for this region Love eating at Yunnan noodles down the road a bit past 7 Eleven and Salima’s. There’s a pure veg place heading towards the cathothic school nearby.

Not a great selection of restaurants and not a beautiful city. The white and Blue temples are worth a visit, but the tour of the Golden Triangle is over hyped. It’s a full day tour filled with trivial things just to finally arrive at a view point to see Myanmar and Laos across the river. If staying in Chiang Mai, a trip to see the White and Blue temple with a return to Chiang Mai would be of greater value.

A great city to do a border run, particularly if you stay at Fortune Riverview Hotel Chiang Khong - which seems to be the nicest accommodation in the area. We enjoyed our stay here quite a bit and would return.

Acceptable for one night.

Acceptable for one night. You need a car to get to the hotel. The rooms are not soundproof. Quite loud from the traffic. The hotel is located directly on the main street. The breakfast is not bad and with good coffee to make yourself with a coffee machine.

It's a small town compared to Chiang Mai.

It's a small town compared to Chiang Mai. Very quiet and with little nightlife, which is why I liked it. The night market is really well-stocked, with live performances sometimes, good prices, and you'll find some nice things to take home. It's well-connected to all the attractions. Obviously, tuk-tuks are more expensive than buses, but the drivers are sometimes friendly.

Chiang Khong, a lovely little town next to the river. Views are amazing and the food is good. It is not very big so staying for an extended time may be dull for some. Great for relaxing and quiet. Excellent for walking and/or riding bicycles.

The shower head was to 50% clogged, and the water was deflected sideways splashing all over. This was the case in both the rooms I had booked! The TV remote control did not work, as the batteries inside were corroded and bloated badly.
