Besides the 2 things I mentioned here, I liked everything! The staff was welcoming and efficient, and everyone was very friendly. The premises were nice and clean, and the view was amazing. I also liked the decoration. Every little detail was very well thought. The rustic washroom outside is really nice, too. But what I enjoyed the most was the food, everything was delicious and for a good price with a variety of options. Thank you!

Hands down, one of the best hotels we have stayed at, anywhere in the world. Very charming. You feel like you are stepping into a lovely museum, with period furnishings and antiques all around you. From the moment we entered to the time we left, the staff was attentive and courteous. They promptly handled our needs with flair and discretion. The extremely talented chef served mouthwatering meals at lunch and dinner. Tip: have the maracuya cheesecake for dessert. We had breakfast in the lovely courtyard by the fountain. The pool is picturesque, surrounded by lush vegetation. For those of us accustomed to U.S. or European prices, both room and dining are very reasonable in comparison. And the best part is that San Salvador is only 5 hours from both New York and California. Our only regret was that we were at Los Almendros de San Lorenzo for a short time but we can easily return for a long weekend.

It was the best accommodation we've had in El Salvador: everything was top notch from the comfortable bed and pillows to smaller details like the illuminated mirror in the bathroom. The standout though was the warmth and care from our hosts.

Kind staff, clean room and excellent location close to the old square. AC worked brilliantly and was much needed to escape the heat.

Amazing place to visit!

Amazing place to visit! Gorgeous town, loved the lake and boat tours to see hundreds of birds on the shimmering waters. Also enjoyed the town and Irma's Indigo scarf making workshop. A truly special place to visit!

I arrived late Saturday night.

I arrived late Saturday night. On Sunday there was NO ONE there except me. I called for an Uber to take me to the airport for my next flight, but there were no Ubers available. I had to go to a neighbor's house and pay someone to drive me to the airport!! It was a run-down neighborhood will dirt streets.

We thought we would see more in the city center.

We thought we would see more in the city center. A friend told us to walk to the La Posada de Suchitlan restaurant. Glad we did. It had a pretty view of the lake and mountain. Other then that, not a lot to look at.

Perfect for an overnight stay before a flight, airport is incredibly close. The manager/owner also organized the taxi for me in the morning. The drawback is that there is absolutely nothing in the area, but for me the place more than did the job. Room was confortable, clean, etc

The local government is working to preserve the old town.

The local government is working to preserve the old town. The roads are stone and many homes built in the spanish colonial architectural style. There are ordinances that prohibit modifications to the home’s facade, so the owners restore to look like the original. The city is very clean, safe and the people are very friendly. The main plaza is lively with local vendors selling a variety of things all weekend. Will definitely return to Suchitoto.
