Everything about this place met my expectations! There is plenty parking in the resort so no need to worry where to leave your car during the stay. Train station to Štrbske Pleso is nearby so we almost didn't need to move the car at all. We were very warmly welcomed with glasses of prosecco :) The rooms were very clean and spacious, towels, bathrobes and toiletries were provided. Spa area is clean and we enjoyed using it (pool, kids pool, jacuzzi, 3 saunas, relax area), also massages are available. We had breakfast and dinner included and there were plenty options to choose from for both, especially the dinner was diverse so no fear from getting bored and eating the same every day. I would especially compliment the staff, everyone is very friendly, accommodating, kind and helpful.

This hotel is fabulous. We were welcomed with all necessary things in the room and even more. The fridge in the room was stuffed with any kind of drink and at our arrival also chocolates on our pillows were there waiting for us. Breakfast is in a very nice restaurant of the hotel and choice is wide and quality high. Rooms with balcony had two chairs and flowers on the balcony. The hotel is very quiet and staff was extremely kind. I was not feeling very well and they allowed me to take Breakfast in the room. Everything was so good that we decided to stay one more night so they found an exactly the same room and charged us the same price. Everything was perfect.

the pictures on the website don't do justice at all: the hotel is MUCH better in reality than it looks like in the pictures (it was a great surprise for us) ; the style and interior decoration are amazing ; the garden and terrasse are beautiful ; definitely a place to stay for hikes in the warmer seasons ; the buffet breakfast was great ; the buffet dinner was also great (good quality and range) ; the restaurant was beautiful ; the hotel was very clean, extremely well maintained and stunning in its architecture (a classic gem) ; the staff was helpful and respectful ; the location was excellent (e.g.: close to cablecars, hiking tracks, ski slopes, town) ; the parking was big and easy to move into ; the spa & wellness facilities were excellent and clean ; the bar was cool and barmen very friendly and at your attention ; live music is played on some days and over the weekend (pianist) ; the gopass included is a real bounty for the activities around ; there is a playroom for children and a big conference room ; the room and bed were comfortable ; the bathroom was clean ; we had a very good view from our room (classic room with view) ; we could even witness a sky-tearing storm ; the hotel is so good you could spend the whole there without feeling you're missing out ; I could go on and on but a definite gem in the Tatras ; one of the best hotels I've stayed in and would definitely recommend to anyone going in the Tatras ; very good value for money ; internet was good too and possible to work from the room desk

I didn’t have breakfast at the chalet as I’m on a gluten-free and dairy-free diet (and vegetarian), which is not a good combination for eating in Slovak restaurants so I brought food with me. It’s great to be able to store food in the mini-fridge at the hotel corridor. The last time I stayed at the chalet with my partner, we suggested it would be useful to have access to a kettle instead of having to ask for hot water for the flask at the bar (though the staff were always very helpful). This time there were communal kettles at the hotel corridors, as well as a microwave. It all made preparations for long mountain walks much easier. I arrived before check-in time and asked if I could leave my luggage at the reception while I went walking and as my room was ready, I was checked in early, which was really appreciated. Every time we stay, the staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. The rooms are well appointed and clean, with a good bathroom/ shower. The views are great (especially from the apartment which faces the mountains). Staying at the chalet saves 6km (walking from/to an alternative base in Starý Smokovec) which allows more time for walking to Zbojnícka chata and Téryho chata.

Fantastic 3 Star Hotel which actually deserves 4 or more stars!!! Food was delicious and every evening/breakfast they served new dishes with plenty of options. The cooks really did a great job!!! Wellness area was nice and comfortable and offered also enough space for swimming and relaxing. The staff was extraordinary!!! Everyone payed attention and did not mind to support the other colleagues. Prices for drinks and wellness were reasonable (Only the dog fee with 20 Euro per night was in my opinion a little too high) Besides that this is a great Hotel in Tatranska Lomnica in best location to the city center and ski lifts. Rooms are beeing modernized, as I saw, so I believe it will be a perfectly modern Hotel soon!

Loved how kid friendly it was, not a bad look if kids were serving themselves in the restaurant or if they were around without adults. I loved the little things for example: lanyard with kids name and room number in case they get lost, the anti slip rug all the way from pool to slide. Not big things but it made my 4 year old be able to be independent. Kid sauna was also fantastic. Food was great, lots of options. The resort was full but it didn’t feel over booked. Everywhere we went there was space.

Quiet, quaint and relaxing, with decent bars and restaurants , the backdrop for the town are the Tatras mountains, which seem to change at different times of the day, with shadow and light , if nature and fresh air is your thing, then it’s perfect, probably one to avoid if late night parties and karaoke bars are what you are after

We went mid December which i thought would be peak skiing...

We went mid December which i thought would be peak skiing season so there would be lots of life in the town. To my surprise the whole town was shockingly quiet, we barely seen 8-9 people all together throughout our stay, the place actually felt like a ghost town. At first i thought the ski tracks were closed as we couldnt see a single skier or any people around at all. So yeah it became pretty boring after the first hour of being the only souls on the mountain and on the tracks. Every shop was closed, had to walk to the other side of the town to find a grocery shop thats open. So yeah it was a very lonely and boring trip to me, even though i dont like the crowd myself. Wouldnt wanna return here

Perfect location for exploring the High Tatra mountains. Very close to restaurants and attractions. Our top tips for attractions within half an hour drive from Smokovce: - Bachledova TreeTop walk - Walk around Strbske Lake - Strednica Parking Photo Point. FREE. A hidden gem. Best views of the Tatra Mountains. Walk down to the 2 lakes. - Hrebienok funicular and Ladovy Dom (this was closed for maintenance but we heard great things about it). Top tip for the most overrated and expensive attraction (i.e. not recommended): Mount Lomnicky Stit cable car by Tatranska Lomnica (we got a return ticket to Skalnate Pleso). Best restaurant in Smokovce: Manuel Caffe & Bistro Italian restaurant.

Presov has beatiful main square and main street with renaisance, impressive buildings, beautiful old town hall and an impressive Gothic con-cathedral which is by the way taller than St Michel-St Gudula gotic cathedral in Brussels and the city has played an important role in the 14th-17th century during the Habsburg vs Protestants periods. The city has had their own small army, richness from the trade that was a centre between Cracow and Buda with underground caves with Tokaj wine where Prešov /Eperjes/Fragopolis was the main owner of Tokaj wine fields and whereas the name for Tokaj hills is still named after Prešov - Eperjesi hegyek, the city of Prešov has an important Jewish museum and synagogue, where the museum was recently unfortunately temporary closed by the state, ministry. The city had famous Lutheran collegium a higher school in mediaval time and Greek catholic and Orthodox impressive churches. There is University which produce many valuable historical books in last decades:

I was up in the mountains so didn't see much of the towns.

I was up in the mountains so didn't see much of the towns. I got the little train up from Stary Smokoviec and went for shopping in Strbske Pleso. Neither town appeals to me but Popradske Pleso is gorgeous. One of my favourite places in the Tatras.

The place is just beautifull, mountains are greal I love it in different time of the year. Transport is great however if you are paying for cable cars it can get expensive but simillary you will pay the price in different countries. If skying it is worth booking the passes in advance as it saves a lot of money.

I liked the most hospitality and accomodation.

I liked the most hospitality and accomodation. I dislike that in this the time there were some Gorals days and it wasn’t possible go to the “cloud pavement” without buying an expensive ticket for this event. So my hiking up was useless.

A very historic and interesting town.

A very historic and interesting town. Beautifully restored after decades of neglect. IMMACULATE centre. UK could learn some lessons. For us, it was a base for visiting the UNESCO wooden churches and there is a superb English-speaking guide bookable at the TIC at the top of the square. She speaks Slovak so can get the key for these unique and glorious churches. Lists of names and numbers at each church. Be careful of parking on the square; not permitted in daytime. Check notices. SUPERB beyond words restaurant ASSISI with 5* cafe opposite. Easy to spend the day there. It is on a train route from Kosice to where we flew with Wizzair. Quiet little airport. Lovely small walkable town.

Velka Lomnica is a village bellow High Tatras mountains ideal for stay when visiting the mountains. You can use your car to move around or you can use also local trains operating right to the touristic centers (Smokovec, Polianka, Tatranska Lomnica, Strbske Pleso and so on). In the village you have good options to buy food or to enjoy local gastronomy in restaurants. City of Poprad is just few minutes of driving or a short journey by train.

Nova Lesna is The Perfect Place to stay when you want to...

Nova Lesna is The Perfect Place to stay when you want to visit the High Tatras. It is close, it has great value for money and has some really beautiful places to stay at with spectacular view. I have been here twice so far but definitely will come back every time we want to go hiking in these beautiful mountains. The train is close by and quick, there are shops here and so many options to choose where you want to stay.
