The hotel, curated with design-led furniture and artworks, impressed us. We were pleasantly surprised with a welcome wine and delightful chocolates each evening. It was our first time glamping and we loved it! We were staying in one of the little houses near the restaurant with our 2 year old daughter. The resort was beautiful with various amenities and activities for families with children or couples. We enjoyed the indoor pool, childrens playgrounds and parks nature. Great breakfast basket was delivered to our house every morning and we enjoyed the food with a beautiful view over the hills and the sunset in the evening. The little house was very clean and had everything one needs including a nice bathroom. The balcony was very spacious and nice. The stuff was very friendly and helpful! The resort location is quite and remote and the beautiful beaches are reachable with car in ca 20min. Overall we had a great time and would come back anytime.

Vila Nova is a pretty seaside town .

Vila Nova is a pretty seaside town . We came for a night and stayed for a fortnight. The supermarkets amd cafés are plentiful. There are many beautiful beaches and interesting things to see. The local bus takes you to pretty towns and villages nearby. Its a lovely place to have a holiday.

The ruins of the ancient castle overlooking the town...

The ruins of the ancient castle overlooking the town enhances the dreamlike feeling of this very old town. Just wandering the streets is enough, but then there is terrific hiking. Ideal for those who like heritage and outdoor adventure in the "real" Portugal outside of the large City. And then there are the people, who could not do enough to help.

Lovely hostess, fabulous location high up so we enjoyed the sunset. Apartment was very clean & well equipped, large, comfortable bed. Wifi very strong. Nice luxury whilst walking 12 days of the Fisherman's trail. Beware the Mercado in the town was closed at 3.30 so we purchased sardines, cheese & wine fir our dinner at the apartment as it us 2.5km out of town

Almograve is a beautiful town close to an amazing beach. The town itself was smaller than the surrounding towns with less amenities , like restaurants to choose from, but we were only there for one night so it was fine. We walked down the road to the beach to enjoy an amazing sunset. The weather was beautiful while we were there. ,

A quiet and pretty small village that remains authentic.

A quiet and pretty small village that remains authentic. A great place for a short visit if you like to avoid the crowds or to look for accomodation if you plan to explore the gorgeous 'vicentina' coast, with car access to many great beaches. Most of these beaches are likely to be too 'wild' for most people, with difficult access, but they are perfect for the more adventurers and, again, for those who prefer to avoid the crowds. Plus, there are a few places in the village centre where you can enjoy a really tasteful light meal, of which I'd definitely reccommend the restaurants 'Ao Largo' and 'Casa Verde'.

I walked from Pedralva to Vila do Bispo -- about 8 miles. A nice in-land walk with a few steep hills, and no provisions (stores, cafe's, etc.,) along the way. Vila do Bispo is a nice little town with a number of very good restaurants, and even an Aldi's. There is a very good Vamus bus connection to Lagos which I used.

We spent the day driving down from Lisbon and so didn't spend any time in the town of Carrapateira itself. But the next morning, we really enjoyed the various hiking trails and scenic overview spots accessible from Carrapateira via the perimeter road (E. da Praia), which starts with great views of and trails to Praia da Bordeira and then winds along the coast's edge for about 10 km. Great views and trails.

Visited for 3 days as part of a road trip through Alentejo into the Algarve. Lovely resort with river and sea beaches. Good selection of shops and restaurants. Visited out of season so very quiet apart from a volume of backpackers. Weather was perfect.

Aljezur is a great location to visit if you like nature,...

Aljezur is a great location to visit if you like nature, surfing, good food, a slower pace of life. I would recommend staying in Aljezur, getting a car to drive around to different beaches and villages where you can find good restaurants. In the evening, in Aljezur, always book ahead a table.
