Rooms were adjusted, so the room was big enough with two bathrooms. Service is excellent, very polite staff. Mini bar was free for the first use. Coffee 24h free, and water was provided in the room but also in the lobby. Location is great with nice view.

Spankingly new hotel, and you can tell the owners didn't scrimp on the furnishings and the details. I loved the location of the hotel in Saldanha. Its not in an overtly touristy area but has several retails establishments nearby (Zara, Massimo, supermarkets, etc), and is a quick ride to the historic centre of Lisbon (8 euros by Uber). The hotel has both an indoor and an outdoor pool.

Beautiful but soulless city.

Beautiful but soulless city. The historic district is pretty and full of sites to see and the nightlife is quite excellent, especially if you get into the clubs on the water. That said, local culture is non-existent. Everyone here is a tourist or a worker who came in to the city from outside to serve tourists. As a result, prices are hiked up across the board for tourists and good luck finding a grocery store/market anywhere. It's all restaurant traps

All three of the main sights are quite spectacular (Pena, Quinta Regaleira, Moorish castle). We went in October so the crowds were not too bad. That is the only downside I think is that in the summer it may be incredibly crowded as it is so close to Lisbon and there are so many day tours from there. The Pena palace has extensive beautiful grounds so if you like walking, you can escape the crowds. There are other places to hike and other nearby sights like Monserrate Palace that I would have liked to explore that we did not have time for. We stayed 2.5 days.

Cascais - very thankful to my colleague, a local from Porto, for recommending I stay at Cascais! It was the best decision, the town felt like home, and was easy access to everywhere! Food was excellent, transportation options perfect, and very walkable! I walked everywhere in the town, and went to Sintra twice via bus from bus depot, with excellent bus service. It felt safe no matter what time of the day or night- and even though there were tourists around, it didn't feel overwhelming like Lisbon or Porto, as there was a sense of peace and belonging! I want to go back again.

The location is superb, the local market and a huge supermarket - Pingo Doce is nearby, available in 3 minutes. City centre can be reached in 10 minutes, local restaurants offer traditional Portuguese food - YOU MUST TRY CHOCO FRITO --> fried squid with fresh salad, there is no chocolate applied :-) You can reach the ferry to Troia peninsula in 10 minutes, in case you love the ocean and wants to walk along alone the ocean shore, picking some seashells, listening to the waves, admiring the sunset, you must visit Troia peninsula Buses and train are offering possibilities to reach shorter and longer destinations - eg. Sesimbra with a spectacular ocean shore. Setúbal is a nice and cozy town, easy to reach from Lisbon by bus or by ferry. This was the third time I've visited Setúbal, I'm sure I'll return again. :-)

There were two issues that were not quite good.

There were two issues that were not quite good. One, the air conditioning was not working properly; one night it was too cold and the other 6 nights it did not work at all. Secondly, the shower was very slippery. I almost fell and slightly hurt my foot trying to prevent a fall. Other than that, everything else was extraordinary.

Oeiras is a suburb of Lisbon, so not overwhelmed by tourists. We found some great places to eat that were appreciative of our custom. There was a fantastic vegan restaurant just outside the town centre (Alma Veg). The main problem for us was the ddual carriageway that passes right by the beaches.

Montijo is a hidden gem that beautifully blends traditional charm with modern amenities. Nestled close to Lisbon yet far enough to offer a serene escape, this town captivates with its rich history, friendly locals, and stunning natural landscapes. The quaint streets, vibrant markets, and delicious local cuisine provide an authentic taste of Portuguese culture. Its proximity to the Tagus River offers picturesque views and opportunities for leisurely walks or boat rides. Montijo is also a gateway to beautiful farm stays, where you can experience the peaceful countryside and savor fresh, local produce. The town's relaxed pace and welcoming vibe make it perfect for unwinding, while its convenient location allows easy exploration of nearby attractions. Whether you’re seeking tranquility, cultural immersion, or a base for day trips, Montijo delivers an unforgettable experience. A true Portuguese treasure that leaves you wanting to return!
