We had a nice and comfortable room with a little basket of fruits for your welcome. The room had a nice balcony with a view to the harbour and Faial. In a minute you can reach the harbour and the city centre. There is a cleaning service everyday (if you need it). The breakfast buffet is really big and has a lot of offerings (they even had soy milk and milk without lactose; lots of bread, ham, cheese, cereals with different seeds, lots of fruits, many cakes, eggs, beans and so on...). The staff is very polite. We are not used to big hotels and normally stay at smaller/simpler places so we missed nothing at all.

Loving Strangers Hostel features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and bar in Madalena. The accommodation provides karaoke and a shared kitchen.

Aptly named — by the time you leave Loving Strangers, they’re no longer strangers. Stefan greets you with a hug and hosts like a long-lost friend, whipping up legendary breakfasts (and dinners that had everyone raving, though I sadly missed out). The hostel itself is a gem: spotless, comfy beds, great amenities, and full of the kind of people you’ll wish you had more nights to talk with. Basically, it’s the kind of place that makes you miss it before you’ve even left.

This is the best accommodation that we have ever had! We were in the big appartment T2 and felt really like home, as it has all facilities you need. The kitchen is well equipped (we cooked a lot, as you get local fresh fish in Madalena for very good price). There are also barbecue facilities which we didn't use because it was rainy. You have an ocean view from every room and we really enjoyed those views, also watching the waves on a rainy day. We used the whirlpool too, which is shared by all the apartments. On most days, we were the only guests. The whirlpool has a sea view too, however, you cannot see much from there, as the cover is fogged up because of the steam. Stilm, the cover is good as it protects you from rain and wind. There are some cats outside coming and asking for food :) One day, we had a visit of lizards between the stones of one of the walls. Apparently, they were hiding from the rain (it was pouring outside). A washing machine and a dryer are available in the laundry room. All in all: you have everything you need there. And also, the apartment is just nice: very good design additionally to the views that you have.

Unexpected welcome basket with many products! New home very cozy even if not too big. Kitchen very well equipped. Patio with table and chairs to relax and have dinner outside with view on both the sea and Pico Mountain. Lovely position!

The host was incredible, she made sure that we had a nice stay and told us where we could go. In the apartment itself there are plenty of guide books and maps. We also were welcomed by homemade jam, and fruits from the garden, which was incredibly nice.
