CanadaWhen we arrived, we were right away greeted by a smiling Ricardo. He made us feel welcome. The young man at the front desk- Pedro - helped us carry our luggage up the stairs to our room. The next morning, the kitchen staff asked us if we wohud like fried eggs - and made them specially for us - as we wanted them. The place was quiet and also close to town by car. The beaches were amazing!

We loved everything about our stay. The beds were extremely comfortable - both my sister and I had the best night sleep we've had in ages. The room was clean and quiet, with blackout curtains for sleeping and good wifi ... it had everything we could need or want. The robes and complimentary port were very nice touches. The breakfast was delicious and satisfying for both of us (one of us is a vegetarian, the other is not). The property itself is gorgeous. It happened to be a little too cold out to use the pool, but it looked very inviting. The host was incredibly kind and helpful, and recommended some beautiful beaches and delicious restaurants for us to check out. Next time I'm back in this area I will definitely stay here again, and will recommend it to all my friends.

Very nice staff, nice room with hot tub outside.
Breakfast is very good with amazing view on the river/sea. You can make your own fresh orange juice by putting the oranges in the automatic machine. It doesn't come any fresher than that: very nice touch! All of this give a perfect start of the day.
They also serve buffet dinner with sushi, grill and pizza station above the self-serve for a very reasonable price. Food was very good!

The reception folks were very helpful and spoke English which really helped me.
The breakfast was adequate. The first morning i was a little later than most guests so it was slim Pickens but the second morning I went earlier and had more choices.

Amazing place and landscape and houses. We already rented there 3 diff houses, all super. Some details could realy be better: always mold in all the bathrooms, sometimes old fournitures (depend the house), no washing machine

Vila Nova is a pretty seaside town .
Vila Nova is a pretty seaside town . We came for a night and stayed for a fortnight. The supermarkets amd cafés are plentiful. There are many beautiful beaches and interesting things to see. The local bus takes you to pretty towns and villages nearby. Its a lovely place to have a holiday.

Sagres is beautiful.
Sagres is beautiful. Perfect for people who are not afraid of wind or cold water. Because of that you find yourself in places with not too many people and always have more than enough space in the beach. Some beaches are full of trailervans but people are nice and chill.

The ruins of the ancient castle overlooking the town...
The ruins of the ancient castle overlooking the town enhances the dreamlike feeling of this very old town. Just wandering the streets is enough, but then there is terrific hiking. Ideal for those who like heritage and outdoor adventure in the "real" Portugal outside of the large City. And then there are the people, who could not do enough to help.

Lovely hostess, fabulous location high up so we enjoyed the sunset. Apartment was very clean & well equipped, large, comfortable bed. Wifi very strong. Nice luxury whilst walking 12 days of the Fisherman's trail. Beware the Mercado in the town was closed at 3.30 so we purchased sardines, cheese & wine fir our dinner at the apartment as it us 2.5km out of town

The town itself was smaller than the surrounding towns with less amenities , like restaurants to choose from, but we were only there for one night so it was fine. We walked down the road to the beach to enjoy an amazing sunset. The weather was beautiful while we were there. ,

A quiet and pretty small village that remains authentic. A great place for a short visit if you like to avoid the crowds or to look for accomodation if you plan to explore the gorgeous 'vicentina' coast, with car access to many great beaches. Most of these beaches are likely to be too 'wild' for most people, with difficult access, but they are perfect for the more adventurers and, again, for those who prefer to avoid the crowds. Plus, there are a few places in the village centre where you can enjoy a really tasteful light meal, of which I'd definitely reccommend the restaurants 'Ao Largo' and 'Casa Verde'.

I walked from Pedralva to Vila do Bispo -- about 8 miles. A nice in-land walk with a few steep hills, and no provisions (stores, cafe's, etc.,) along the way. Vila do Bispo is a nice little town with a number of very good restaurants, and even an Aldi's. There is a very good Vamus bus connection to Lagos which I used.

A shuttle to take you to beach and shops is very useful as parking in town area limited (and we were outside season )

We spent the day driving down from Lisbon and so didn't...
We spent the day driving down from Lisbon and so didn't spend any time in the town of Carrapateira itself. But the next morning, we really enjoyed the various hiking trails and scenic overview spots accessible from Carrapateira via the perimeter road (E. da Praia), which starts with great views of and trails to Praia da Bordeira and then winds along the coast's edge for about 10 km. Great views and trails.
