I loved everything about this place! The staff were ALL very friendly (and a special shout out to the lovely Mafalda who gave suggestions on what to see, answered our questions about the Portuguese language and culture, and delivered friendly smiles like warm sunshine every day without fail!) The rooms are well appointed & clean (extremely important to us!), the breakfast had a good selection each day (yes, the same foods each day, but you could select something new each day for a week without eating the same thing twice), the location is perfect (so close to beaches and a short 5-10 minute walk into town), the view is wonderful, and I miss sitting on the balcony each morning with my cappuccino enjoying the sea view and breeze with the sounds of doves cooing. The bed was comfy and the shower was great. I will definitely be back!

I really enjoyed my stay at Lusitano Garden Villas. The place is calm, clean, and very comfortable, and the location is perfect only 5 minutes from the airport, Romeu was super helpful and friendly, always giving me great tips about visiting places. I also loved the horse riding experience, which was unforgettable, The owner João is very kind, always around, and clearly cares a lot about the place. Highly recommended!

The hotel was pretty much perfect. Beautiful rooms, a lovely smell everywhere, fabulous breakfast with lots of options, lovely pool and spa area. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Plus there were books, lots of books. The location is ideal for exploring with a sea swimming spot nearby. The water was clear and warm. Angra is a stunning town and this hotel is the perfect place to stay.

I don't understand why so many people are complaining about this hotel. It is as close to the ferry terminal as you can get. , The rooms are clean and tidy. The pool has a nice view on Faial, and is beeing cleaned every morning (and they are probably the only ones having a pool in Pico anyway...) You can walk in less than 5 minutes to all the different tour operators (Diving, Hiking, Whalewatching, Rentalcars....) and restaurants. It is maybe a bit dated, but I felt like they were doing their best at being welcomig. They even organise a mini breakfast buffet from 04 a.m - 7 a.m for people leaving early on hikes or diving tours...! Keep in mind that every Airbnb in the area is more expensive , without offering you room service, breakfast or a pool area. If you come to Pico for its great nature activities, and want an easy hotel, thats your place to go!!

An absolute gem of a hotel. The staff were friendly and extremely accommodating. Everything about our stay was perfect. Beautiful rooms, great facilities and a short walk into the centre of Ponta Delgada for all the cafe's, shops, bars and restaurants. Hotel food and drinks were reasonably priced and of exceptional quality. The bar staff were superb - recommending Azores gin and tonics and local beers to suit our tastes. In short - if you're looking at this hotel as an option, book it. You won't be disappointed.

Breakfast was good, but it had been mostly one and the same through whole stay Room was comfortable, big enough, with a terrace toward the ocean. Pools both external and internal were clean and well maintained, but probably I had an allergy to one of the chemicals used to keep it clean, so reduced stay at certain moment. Gaming room with many games available from reception ... we used it when the weather was not good.

Extremely quiet location - far from all the noise (with the exception of sea waves - which are pleasant though). The hotel is spacious, and the surroundings (greenery) are well maintained. The staff is very friendly. Since it gets dark quite quickly in the winter, we had fun playing billiards and table tennis in the evening.

Staying at Lajes de Pico for some days was perfect. The hosts are very helpful with questions about the island and activities and make sure your stay is excellent. They helped me with finding a guide for the climb at mount pico and booked the whale spotting for me. Also a huge plus was the view over the mountain.

Just to see Ponta Delgada, 2-3 days is enough. It is within an hour to most places on the island. Christmastime is a great time to be there. Not too hot, not too cold and less busy than in the high season.

Beautiful. There are many fascinating old buildings, cozy cafes, great beaches, and steep hills to climb. Great nature reserve at Monte Brasil. The people are very friendly. Quite a few facilities in this small little town. Very relaxing.

Being close to the airport, you can even walk there. It's right next to the beach, with access to water sports, bars, restaurants, and supermarkets. Plus, you can easily get around using public transport. The receptionist who helped me with the booking process was very helpful and professional. I highly recommend this accommodation.

The boulevard along the harbour offers beautiful views towards Pico island. The town is rather small but offers all the basics. The people are are friendly. It's not so suitable for shopping and to really appreciate it you should walk around a lot and also explore the nature around the town. Public transport is available though rather limited.

It is a beautiful and historic building with so much character. It has calm and peaceful seating areas throughout where you can sit in comfort. They have the best breakfast and we relied on the banana for a snack as we were out and about during the day. This location is perfect for exploring the island as it is centrally located. We will definitely be back

I enjoyed Riberia Grande.

I enjoyed Riberia Grande. It is a great place to situate yourself if you are planning to visit different areas of the island. The public swimming pools and ocean access was fantastic. I enjoyed going to the courtyard area in my area nightly to eat and enjoy a glass of wine. Took a little getting used to the serving staff here as they did not seem interested in their customers. Upon searching Google, I found out this may be because they are paid a decent living wage and therefore not reliant on tips. Casas do termo are about 2 km from Lagoa, and we didn't explore this small town well enough. The big Continente supermarket was easy to find (on the road from the motorway). The roads on São Miguel are on the whole very good and the traffic is light. There is a lot of agricultural traffic, however. Using this location as a base, we could easily explore the whole island by car and there are many things worth experiencing (views, villages, Ponta Delgada itself). It's an amazingly lush, green island. We would recommend it!

this hotel was far from the airport or anything else for that matter, if you had to walk so a car is a necessity, and although the hotel had amenities like restaurant (only open for breakfast with the same breakfast every day) and vending machines (which if you could find a working one was empty( best piece of advise is find a grocery store, the island living is the best but it does take some getting used to if your from North America.

I went there to scuba dive and Madelena is a perfect...

I went there to scuba dive and Madelena is a perfect location between two excellent Dive Shops: CWAzores and Twin Peaks. I recommend O Cinco for food. Madalena is a perfect location to stage a vacation to have access to all the other towns, museums and activities.
