Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially our greeter at the entrance. He was very helpful with all the necessary information we needed. Food at breakfast was very good. Our tasting menu experience, although expensive, was a really lovely two hours. The food in the other speciality restaurant was very good but the portions were tiny. The pool areas were really well kept. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for that bit of extra luxury we all crave.

The whole stay was so incredible, we enjoyed every minute and hope we'll be able to come back. The staff is super friendly and pays attention to details, the communication was easy and fast and also available via whatsapp. We had breakfast and dinner included and the quality of the food was incredible, delicious & nutritious with the most beautiful view opportunities from the restaurants. The hotel is very family friendly and our toddler enjoyed the stay as much as we did. The gym is brand new and has a very good choice of machines also allowing a sweet view during your workouts. The private entrance to the beach is great and opens the floor to a magnificent landscape and very nice beach. Overall we are super happy to have been able to enjoy our holidays here – thank you!

Liked · My cousin and I came on a winter break and we could not have chosen better. Marta contacted us before we even arrived with check in details and access instructions as we were arriving late. However despute lateness Helder met us there and showed us our apartment. The apartment is gorgeous, absolutely spotless with great thought given to what you might need. Aside from the usual kitchen utensils there were containers in case you wanted a picnic, there were umbrellas, beach towels and beach umbrellas. There were also fluffy robes and slippers, gorgeous bathroom products,(shower gel, shampoo, conditioner), plus vanity kits, toothbrushes, and sewing kits. The bathroom was well lit and the shower, large, and good pressure. The bed, well what can I say, it is without doubt the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, add the high thread count sheets for a five star experience. We had a lovely little balcony which was perfect for morning coffee and evening wine. A bottle of which had been left in the fridge. There is also a lovely roof terrace hidden from view but with lovely views across the rooftops. We had a couple of questions such as getting the TV to work and what pods the coffee machine took as we wanted to buy more, these were answered via WhatsApp promptly and in such a friendly way, each time with a recommendation of things to do or places to eat. Overall this really was a five star experience and, as I like Faro for a winter break I feel I have really found a home away from home. Actually that's not true, Solar Mendonca is better 🙂

In the reviews I read it said the hotel was like an oasis. I now understand why. It is magical! As we were being shown around, the only word I could utter was WOW! It’s a quiet place for families/couples trying to get a good escape, and close to the city center via car. The staff is really friendly and reachable via WhatsApp. Special mention to Antonio and his reception colleagues (forgot the name sorry!) for being extra cheerful and pleasant to speak to. The restaurant food is delicious, worth a try (or two)

Throughout our stay, the staff were incredibly professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. We didn’t just feel like guests – we felt truly valued. The rooms have been completely renovated, featuring a modern design and extremely comfortable beds that made our rest truly enjoyable. Every detail was carefully considered. Breakfast was also a highlight – not only generous, but also freshly prepared to order. It was the perfect way to start each morning: delicious, relaxed, and tailored to our preferences. Stayed in the luxury one bedroom suite. The room was fab. Very clean. The cleaners were so nice leaving our daughter’s bunny in cute positions for us to find. They had a daily turn down service which was lovely to come back to every day. The cot and high chair were added to the room free of charge and the cot itself was very large and comfy, with sheets changed daily and lots of towels. The staff was so kind, personable and helpful. Breakfast was good (although better coffee would be good). The bed lounger on the balcony was amazing to catch some sun in private and the balcony itself was huge with a great view of the pool. Super quick check in. It was completely Stress free for us as a new family.

So Albufeira in winter is beautiful.

So Albufeira in winter is beautiful. I went over Christmas, so It was quieter than usual, but its a handy base to go see other parts of the Algarve, places like Quarteira and Villamoura are lovely, as is Carveiro and Old Faro. Solgambas, Terraco do Mare, BDT Burger are some of the places I ate and would recommend. I just relaxed, petted some of the local cats, and had a really chill time. While winter sun isn't guaranteed, it can be very pleasant.

I had this break over Christmas, not the weather for beach etc. I did enjoy the charming streets of Faro and the ease of getting out and about on buses or trains, very easy to do from I Faro. I had some great food, and particularlly enjoy comfort food at the Modesto Tavern. It is tucked at the back of the outstanding Municipal Museum. Outstanding Bean seafood, also very good value. I was made very welcome as a solo, which is a delight, restaurants often dont know what to do with you when you eat alone. The Municipal Museum is a must so well done, and the inclusion of art display made the ancient buildings even more intresting, and its free! I found Pastelaria Venezuela, its at the back of the market to have a morning coffee, it has the best Portuguese tarts amongst other goodies, warm and friendly staff, dont miss it.

It was November, so it wasn't as warm or as crowded, but the weather allowed us to do what we wanted without having to wear thick coats. We first went on a boat cruise and saw the caves and rocks from that perspective. The next day, we went on the bike tour and viewed where we were the previous day from the top perspective. We also felt we got to know Lagos much better by doing both of these activities in that order. Walking and biking through the city is also a great way to go off the beaten path and see sites that are not usually seen by tourists. Even in November, it is necessary to make dinner reservations for the popular restaurants well ahead of time.

Too short a visit to give a definitive answer as attending athletics event and not enough to explore, however liked what we saw. Had a superb meal at Namaste India Tandoori Restaurant in direction of Praia de Rocha. Without personal transport Uber was ideal.

Easy to get around, lovely beach, lots of beautiful places to eat. We stayed for 4 days and it was a perfect amount of time as we didn't plan any day trips. Bolt taxi - an excellent service and we would highly recommend the Wyndham Hotel.

We stayed for 6 nights which was a night or two more than required. Tavira is an interesting town and we enjoyed a Fado performance in one of the beautiful churches. It has a wide choice of good eateries and trips are available to local attractions like the island. However, we were glad we took the option of taking the train to Faro for one day and to the crossingbto Spain on a small ferry on another day. Tavira is close to Spain.The ferry port in Portugal is an attractive town as is its couterpart onthe Spanish side.

Been coming here for years on 4 day golf tours. For that purpose Vilamoura has everything - good hotels, lively bars and even in late November plenty of restaurants to choose from and of course many golf courses within easy reach.

Beautiful fishing village with gorgeous coastal views. I loved the fact that there were no high rise buildings. Very quaint and charming location, and centrally located to visit other parts of the Algarve coast!

Olhao is a welcoming laid back town this time a year.

Olhao is a welcoming laid back town this time a year. Its very well kept with interesting Cubist architecture. There are many great restaurants and coffee places in all price ranges. It feels genuinely Portugese. Surrounding islands are lovely and transport is easy and very affordable. The markets are also great to visit. The salinas are beautiful with lovely diverse flora and fauna.

We loved our stay in Quarteira!

We loved our stay in Quarteira! The location was perfect - just a short drive from Faro Airport, with easy access to beautiful beaches and plenty of local facilities. Everything we needed was close by, making it a convenient and relaxing base for exploring the Algarve. Highly recommend!
