Wow an amazing hotel so much history. Stayed here for 2 nights. The breakfast is brilliant. There are loads of restaurants within walking distance but we ate at the one next door which was nice and very traditional. No bar but you’ve only got to ask for a beer and it’s brought out to you on the terrace. Reasonably safe for motorcycles parked at front of hotel, no access for cars due to bollards. Car park at side of hotel

It was an absolutely perfect place to stay. Everything is so clean, simple, and elegant in this hotel. The stuff is very helpful, and they really do their best to offer us great, comfortable time. Breakfast with the view and with so many delicious taste was outstanding, and the spa facilities were just as convinient and satisfying. I would like to give a great thanks for Maria, who was especially helpful and kind to us. The main element behind this great place is all this hard working, humble and kind-hearted people who do their diligent job every single day, to create a cozy, welcoming atmosphere for others. The location is amazing, all the amenities are top notch and make you want to stay for weeks or even move definitely here. It's very peaceful and quiet. Allows you to enjoy nature from morning sun to the stars on the night sky. The kitchen is amazingly equipped, the rooms are comfortable and the toilet large and modern.

I was here for work, but added a day to go hiking in the Gardunha mountains. Good hiking trails, with good signposts. The tourism office offers brochures in English. I like the scale of the city: small & calm, but with a good variety of shops, bars & restaurants.

A small village tucked into the side of the mountain, surrounded by wild and untouched nature. The forests, the steep paths, and the quiet atmosphere make it feel like a hidden world of its own. Unhais da Serra is a very small town.

Unhais da Serra is a very small town. It has one outstanding restaurant - As Thermas and another couple of ones that are good options as well. A couple of local shops that carry the delicious cheeses, charcuterie and liquors made in Serra da Estrela. We always stop to replenish or stock - we prefer the tiny mini-market, but the fancier shop has sweatshirts, slippers and interesting items as well. It's the perfect get-away for rest and relaxation. We park the car at the H2otel and do walking to everywhere we need to go over the weekend. I'd say a 3-4 night stay is ideal.

Tabua is near the motorway network taking you all over Portugal and near some beautiful countryside. Its a typical town in central Portugal. Not too small, not too big, Some excellent coffee and cake shops.

Our host was kind and generous with her time answering our many questions. She bakes the most delicious cakes and serves a wonderful cup of coffee in a charming old world setting. The location is isolated, yet shouldn't be missed. Just enough choices of eateries in the town square.

Paul has fantastic conditions by its location/views of the mountain and a very nice small river, however needs further improvement to fully exploit such advantage. The park at the riverside lacks trails to be able to fully profit from the location. Adequate signaling is missing in the village.

I did not have a chance to see much in Castelo Branco thanks to the heatwave (above 40 degrees celcius), but from tourist guides and from what I heard it is worth visiting when the weather is a lot cooler in the future.

Lousã is a larger town than expected but not much in terms of things to do other than the schist villages nearby. You need a car to get around and you do need to plan ahead as restaurants do close between lunch and dinner. Also, most restaurants are not dog friendly and mainly only cafés have outdoor seating, so it's not an option to bring your dog to dinner. Overall it was a beautiful visit and it's a peaceful place to be.
