This hotel is newly built, featuring beautiful, bright, and impeccably clean rooms, all equipped to the highest of standards. A spacious, comfortable bed with a wonderful mattress and perfectly crisp, spotless linens — a place where sleeping felt unbelievably blissful, and where simply lying down to read, relax, or watch TV was an absolute delight. The Smart TV comes with built-in Netflix and YouTube, letting you enjoy any films or shows you like, as well as all the news programs that interest you. The room is equipped with a superb, modern air conditioner that operates so quietly you’ll never be disturbed by it, no matter the time of day. The bathroom features a wonderful, well-appointed shower with an excellent and stylish installation. But above all, I must mention the hotel’s staff — starting with its owner, a well-educated, gracious, and genuinely kind person, always ready to offer any assistance you may need throughout your stay in Caticlan. The entire hotel staff is exceptionally professional, highly trained, and speaks excellent English, always ready to assist you with absolutely anything at any moment. I would also like to highlight one more important detail. The hotel has a restaurant that serves the most exquisite, delightful, and truly gourmet dishes — a level of cuisine I have never encountered anywhere else in the Philippines. The food is extraordinarily delicious, and, to be honest, I can hardly recall ever dining so wonderfully anywhere else. This hotel is truly a hidden gem near Boracay Island. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay close to the airport while enjoying wonderful and comfortable accommodations. One of the best accommodations we’ve been in the Philippines! Our cottage was clean & cozy, mattress really comfortable and the bathroom well equipped (even with a conditioner!). There is no AC, but the fan was fully sufficient and quiet. The excellent breakfast can be served either in the common area or in front of your cottage. We ordered pancakes and eggs and both of them were delicious. We will definitely come back!

Great bargain, staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast buffet was yummy and selection of eateries was good. The entrance staff assisted us at the beach. The bartender made a good mojito. I would suggest to add the Moscow Mule drink to the menu. I plan to stay here again.

This hotel exceeded our expectations and more. It may have been expensive but it was so worth the money! The airport transfer was smooth and even had treats on their private speedboat. Checking in was a bit late but we were surprised to have been met with a special birthday cake and greetings in our room! Every single staff would greet you during your entire stay. The room was superb and when we requested a pool-side room, they graciously gave us a room overlooking the pool and beach which was just amazing. The whole stay was wonderful especially with our 4 year old who swam 3 hours in the pool in the morning and 4 hours in the beach in the afternoon. The reason we booked this was because of how easy you can lay on the beach beds and order a drink or food while you get to watch your kid play by the waves as the sun sets. Just amazing. Food was very good too. I recommend their pizza restaurant after a tiring day at the beach. I have stayed in lots of other hotels in station 1 but this is the best so far. Would definitely come back next year!

This place is a small corner of heaven. The beach/sand is so shiny and white, the sea of an amazing color, and the staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. They’ll take amazing care of you and will make you feel at home. The restaurant is delicious, with such great variety of dishes and cocktails. Really worth the stay. You’re not far from Alona beach (just 10 mins with local tuktuk), which offers loads of small restaurants and bars if you want to spend the evenings there - however, Alona beach is more touristy and crowded so I loved going back to the piece and quiet of Bohol beach club. The resort is also super close to the airport (10-15 mins drive with taxi) and the ride can obviously be booked through the hotel and it’s not expensive at all.

The location is good. It is inside the town, close to pier 1, the place from where one can get ocean jet ferry to Bohol. Few attractions are at walking distance from this place. Initially our room was a smaller one but due to some maintenance issue we were upgraded to a suite like room, which was quite big, clean and good kitchenette. In both the rooms ACs worked well. View was also good from both the rooms. Thanks to Teresa for upgrading us to a suite without charging any additional fees immediately after bringing a maintenance issue in our booked room.

I had an excellent stay at Rate Bayfront Hotel Cebu North Reclamation! The staff was extremely professional and attentive throughout my stay, always willing to help with anything I needed. Although I think the breakfast could be a bit better, everything else about this hotel was great. The rooms are super clean and well-maintained, and the food served in the restaurant is delicious. This hotel is ideal for both couples and solo travelers. Overall, I highly recommend Rate Bayfront Hotel Cebu North Reclamation to anyone looking for a place to stay in Cebu!

I love cebu city its my hometown. Will never get tired. Im on vacation aftr 27yrs being in the US. Been to Cebu Safari, Jpark but i would love to stay here again in NUSTAR when im given a chance before i go back to the states after Sinulog.. Cebu City is BEAUTIFUL. Im proud to be a Cebuana.

Mactan felt poor and overcrowded to us. It is true that we arrived after flooding and typhoons, but I am afraid that the trash is a constant problem here. People live along the sidewalks, sometimes even in cardboard boxes that are often placed literally on piles of garbage. Emaciated dogs roam around, and roosters are tied on short strings. Children beg for money. If you want to go on excursions, you have to travel quite far, yet there are constant traffic jams, so even short distances take an unreasonably long time. Choose other islands.

Moalboal is a lively resort, lots of bars and restaurants. Beaches nearby are white sand and accessible. Badian beach a short ride away and less crowded than Moalboal. Popular waterfalls a short trip away. Easy bike hire.

Loved it all!

Loved it all! The whole island has a peaceful and calming vibe. There’s lots to do and see if you’re into the beach ie snorkeling and diving. Beautiful beaches and waterfalls. The roads are nice and wide with no traffic in most areas. It’s easy to hail a tuk tuk to get around or rent a scooter to explore. People are friendly. Food is variable and good. A very scenic place. We’d return in a heartbeat!

Iloilo was easy to move around, Grab was easily available but the best was the service provided at Civil Registry Office. It was so easy to conduct business in the Birth Division. Everything was straightforward. Only drawback were the long lines at the elevator. I used the stairs to the 5th floor because I was impatient to wait

Dumaguete is like all the other centres, chaotic, polluted...

Dumaguete is like all the other centres, chaotic, polluted and without any sense of road rules . As with all of the Philippines there are annoying minor charges (take a motorcycle on a ferry and find out) and corruption . So far nothing unusual. Rizal boardwalk offers light entertainment. Oh, don’t expect much from the tourist office. They are not much help.information of an exact nature is very hard to come by. The town is passable.

We came to Cebu just for swimming with sharks.

We came to Cebu just for swimming with sharks. It was a very interesting experience. We spent the rest of the day snorkeling at Sumilon. It was great. However, given shortage of time, 2 nights in Oslob with one day dedicated to swimming seemed just right for our group - we went on to see some more of the Philippines nature.
