The property is very well kept and clean. It has amazing views of the Laguna and is sheltered from the wind. The rooms are cosy and there is plenty of space to relax.
The meals are delicious and generous portions.
The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. We absolutely loved staying here and would stay again in the future if we return.

We felt the hospitality of Richar's family from the moment we arrived on the island till we said our goodbyes at the dock. The room was very clean, overlooking the island slope. The facilities are basic but functional and are maintained excellently. There's also a terrace to enjoy the view from the outside. All meals provided, lunch, dinner, and breakfast were excellent and served in a nicely decorated dining room. Lunch and dinner were traditional choices of quinoa/corn soup and cheese + vegetables/pasta second course, all with local ingredients. The pancake breakfast was more of a Western style and filling for the day.. Everything is very quiet on the island, even the roosters were heard only from outside. We had a chance to observe daily island life, see people going about their chores while wearing traditional clothes, watch the sunset from the highest point, and learn a bit about local beliefs and traditions. We attended the evening fiesta that was arranged for tourists. However, it mimics all the features, such as music, clothes, and dances, of authentic island celebrations.
Knowing some Spanish will significantly help enrich your island experience.

Jose and Pilar are absolute gems. I stayed with them for three nights over Christmas, and they welcomed me as if I was a part of their own family. They allowed me, and the other guests, to partake in all their usual traditions, to eat with their extended family, sing and dance. The food was amazing and healthy, to the extent that there was no way to leave the table even slightly hungry. The rooms had everything you'd need, including a hot shower.

Had an incredibly memorable stay here with Henry & Mariluz. They will welcome you in their home with arms wide open and treat you like family. They are some of the nicest & kindest people I've ever met. It was so incredible learning about life on the island from them and eating amazing homemade meals by Mariluz. They took the time to pick us up at the port, walk us back and help us get on the boat, talk with us for hours at dinner and they even pulled out their telescope for us, so that we could see the full moon as well as some handmade traditional clothing that we could try on.
Aside from their incredible hospitality, the rooms are nicely decorated & clean, and the property is in a great location, quite close to the ceremonial centers which we went to twice. Amantani is a really special place that was soooo fun to explore. We walked the entire island and absolutely loved how peaceful it was. It's an experience I highly recommend, and hold dear to me. Choose this place with these people and you won't regret it. The gratitude they express for staying with them is so touching and you will fall in love with the island & with
them.

Sophia's house is located very close to Amantani's main square. The rooms overlook a patio and, most importantly, the lake view is heavenly.
Sophia is an incredible person, who will do everything to pamper you and share her culture, especially her delicious cuisine.
A must-do excursion on this peaceful island steeped in history.

Immersive experience, great friendly couple, got to experience many traditional ways of life on amantani (dressing up in traditional costumes, walking up to the peak, weaving, grinding flour, etc). They can come and pick you up from the main harbour in puno or elsewhere - very helpful.

Isla (island) Amantaní and Taquile are both very remote, about a three hour boat ride from Puno,
But I would highly recommend going for a very unique and traditional experience with a Peruvian family. When you book a tour, they usually take you to both islands, but an overnight with a family on Amantaní. I would recommend two nights because it is far and then you have time to fully relax and enjoy the community!! It was also fun to stay in the home with other travelers, four other people from three different countries in Europe! We hiked to the top of the island for sunset where there is a beautiful memorial/ worship site for Pachamama (Mother Earth). Also, the food prepared in our home was very delicious.😊

This is the most peaceful place on earth.
This is the most peaceful place on earth. The island offers the most sacred experiences. We spent two nights there, eat completely organic food from the garden, our host was amazing. If you want an authentic Lake Titicaca experience, this is it. Their 11 year old son took us to the fountain of youth, the Pachamama and Pachatata temples on top of the mountain. We had a wonderful experience with a local Shaman. This place is well cared for, host and family are the most loving people, sharing their lifestyl with their guest. There are no cars on the island, you walk everywhere. The boat ride to their place was breath taking as it is on the south side of the island, very private and quite.
