Luis and his family were so hospitable, the food he cooked us was delicious! The place itself is so tranquil looking over the water. We loved staying here and wish we could’ve stayed longer, it was very chilled and simplistic island life.

We had a wonderful time at this place. You are surrounded by jungle. The huts are very cozy and they have everything you need. Jen is the host of this accommodation and she lovingly takes care of her guests. There is a delicious breakfast and she helps you organize any activities you want to do.
We will remember this accommodation for a long time.

Punta Rica Lodge is definitely one of the best places I’ve stayed at in Central America. Rooms are very spacious and absolutely spotless (and very well decorated!). Staff was amazing - we got upgraded to a larger room and had complementary pick-up and drop-off to & from the main island.
Daniel was extremely nice, gave us very useful recommendations, and he is an outstanding chef. Definitely recommend having dinner there at least once to try his delicious food. Breakfast is included and those were the best avocado toast and pancakes we’ve had in our lives.
This place is a must! Very nice swimming pool and common area - with a sea view. Really hope to come back one day!

You are in a very small town, so there is not too much happening, but they offer a lot of tours and water taxis. Also a nice beach is 20min away. You can also talk with the personal very easily and they really care about your concerns, e.g. laundry. The hostel is (literally) next to the water so the view is amazing. Loved it there! Also the danish place next to it is great. I think the price is fair.

We loved the location in the bay and our view and access from terrace directly to the ocean. Water was calm, clean, warm and we swam and snorkeled every day. The staff was very friendly, bungalow spacious and clean with both inside and outside shower and two floor windows to watch the colorful fishes swim below our bungalow. Reasonable restaurant prices (15-20 USD for main course, 2-8 USD for drink), food very tasty (especially the grilled tuna :)). Water taxi costs 5 USD to the Bocas town. We made a great choice to book this hotel.

Staying at La Loma Lodge was nothing short of magical. The lodge is beautifully tucked away in the rainforest, surrounded by vibrant wildlife and the serene sounds of nature.
The accommodation was stunning — open-air, thoughtfully designed, and deeply connected to the environment. Every detail feels intentional, from the comfortable beds to breathtaking views of the forest, to having privacy from other rooms, to having two hammocks, to toilet paper holders ;). It’s the perfect balance of charm and comfort.
The food and drinks deserve their own spotlight. Most ingredients are grown right on the property (even the pepper on the table and hot sauce are so), and every meal (and also the non-alcoholic drinks) is fresh and absolutely delicious. Dining at La Loma is more than a meal — it’s an experience and you’ve even got the best view of the bay ever from the restaurant.
But what truly makes La Loma exceptional is the people. The hosts and staff are welcoming, passionate, and incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife and chocolate farm. Their care for sustainability and respect for the environment shines through in everything they do.
From hiking through the cacao farm and learning about chocolate-making to trying different local fruits and spotting sloths right from the restaurant, every moment was unforgettable.
If you’re looking for a place that’s more than just a stay — a place that connects you with nature and leaves you feeling inspired — La Loma Lodge is it. Without a doubt, one of the most remarkable travel experiences we’ve ever had. Make sure you stay a bit longer than we did, one night was definitely not enough.

We had an amazing stay at Al Natural Resort! The open-air houses with sea views are unique and unforgettable. We saw wildlife right outside (sloth, rays, sharks, birds) and even bioluminescence at night. The staff are super friendly, Michel is a great host, and the food from Vincent’s team was excellent—even for picky eaters. Truly a paradise, we’d love to return!

I truly loved the Island of Bastimentos of which I stayed.
I truly loved the Island of Bastimentos of which I stayed. I did long walks along the island and I also hiked right through the middle of the island to get to Wizard beach. It's a gem that's unspoiled and untouched by droves of tourist. I hope it stays that way.
However, I have one big issue with this Island called Bastimentos that was heart breaking for me. There was entirely too much garbage strewn along the edges circulating the island. They need a major litter clean up campaign by this community. It was a turn off for such a beautiful Island with beautiful people.
Entirely to much garbage like plastic bottles, cans, glass bottles, old cloths, bags, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. I don't know if it's washed up by the sea from neighboring islands or thrown there by the community. It's highly visible and can ruin visitors coming here if they don't clean it up.
I can only hope this matter of pollution is addressed. All the best Bastimentos.
