The camp there are absolutely new facilities, so that to was quite comfortable stay in this camp. Also need to point out that in the dinner the Beef Mishkak (Arabic BBQ) was very tasty, and enjoyed to have a dinner. In addition, I appreciate Mr. Hilal for good arrange of the activities, such as camel riding and 4wheel buggy riding.

Absolutely beautiful location with excellent facilities and the company of a wonderful host. Amer was kind and helpful and took us on a stunning trip dune bashing and meeting a Bedouin family. The sunset camel ride was also memorable and our children loved every minute in the desert. We couldn’t recommend a better place to stay with stunning views, privacy and only 3 tents available for the ultimate peaceful trip. Thank you Amer for a truly memorable experience. We will be back.

What was my criteria for a good a desert camp? Ans:- 1) should be situated/surrounded by dunes. Should be deep enough in the desert. 2) should not be near other camps/ lowest light pollution possible. 3) economical, clean, having all necessities, good food, authentic desert experience 4) if you plan it right, the milky way galaxy viewing/ starry nights. 5) offering a variety of activities After a 48 hour frenzy of sifting through listings on booking.com, i finally stumbled upon Khalid’s camp. So, how was our experience, you ask? We made a very last minute booking and reached there by evening, but right from the get go, khalid was super responsive. He actively provided all the necessary details for the meeting point on whatsapp and was waiting for us when we arrived there. Wasted no time and took us straight 24 kms deep into the desert. Situated on top of a dune, the camp boasts of solitude from other camps. The place runs on solar power and has wifi and all sockets for charging devices, which is a good thing. There are no generators. It is so silent, you could hear a pin drop. It is a new property and very meticulously planned by khalid. There are three cabins, which is perfect to have a good blend of being social and having privacy. We were welcomed with fruits, dates, omani tea&coffee and juice. Khalid made sure we were comfortable in our cabin. After a short rest, dinner was served (additional price, standard with other camps). Succulent beef and grilled bbq chicken along with hummus was a palate delight. They also had vegitarian options which very considerate. While we had dinner, khalid prepared a campfire under the stars. We were joined by other guests and all of us shared stories of our travels/ adventures. Khalid told us about the stars and constillations and we bombarded him with questions about omani culture and omani way of life, and he answered every single one. Hours went by, felt like minutes.

Mr Hilal welcomes you in his cool 4x4 Orange Rubicon Jeep at the pick up point and you know you’re going to have a good time! The camp interiors live up to the photos . Everything is spic and span and even though you’re in the middle of the desert you feel right at home! A clear 5 stars! Speaking of stars , we were lucky to have a clear night and had a beautiful Milky Way display at night!

Nice camp in desert. Drove from Al Maha Al Wasil fuel station. Before we let reduce the tyre pressure for 1 OMR, by return they did the oppoosite and you can wash your car for 1.50-2 OMR. We enjoyed the stay, you can walk around the camp, watching sunset/rise or just sitting on the terrace and looking aroung. We were free upgraded and got very nice bungalow in the corner with the view on dune hills and in the morning we could look for the sunrise. The sun appears approx one hour after the official sunrise, do not get too early like we did :-)

Proprietor is very friendly and shared interesting information about Oman and the Omani people, camp is in the perfect location by highest point of the dunes for excellent views of sunset /sunrise and near Bedouin camel herd where we were able to see camels roaming and feeding, food was also very good and our tent was quite comfortable. Overall camp had an excellent atmosphere where we could enjoy the desert experience and relax with other guests.

Loved the sunset drive on the dunes. Dune bashing was fun and you can tell your driver what version of this you want - soft to fast ! Staff were friendly and accommodating. Make sure you book your seat at outdoor dining to avoid not getting a seat if the camp is full. Also book activities as soon as so you get your preferred time. Food was great - huge selection in the buffet and the musical entertainment was a great surprise !

Sur was a nice surprise. We were planning on going to the sea turtles reserve in Ras Al Jinz, but it was not the season, so we ended up in Sur instead. Thea beach is very nice as well as the souq. We had nice breakfast at Sahari Restaurant and hiked up to the tower next to it to see the views over the town. We visited the light house and the dhow factory.

Al Hadd is a peaceful coastal area with beautiful empty beaches and a very relaxed atmosphere. It’s a great place to see wildlife — especially turtles — and enjoy the simple charm of local fishing life. The area is calm, safe, and perfect for families who want to disconnect from the city and explore Oman’s coastline. Even one night here gives a nice break and a memorable experience.

We had an excellent stay at the camp.

We had an excellent stay at the camp. It's a small and private camp, with a great view on the sand dunes. The tents are fully equipped and comfortable. All the people working at the camp were super friendly and helpful. They made sure everything was according to our expectations and beyond. We did a dune bashing activity, where we also watched the sunrise and took beautiful pictures. I also definitely recommend the camel ride to watch the sunrise! The dinner and breakfast was super delicious, and we enjoyed watching the stars around the campfire at night.
