Very private accommodation. Beds were comfortable, and the room exceeded our expectations. As a family of 5, it's sometimes difficult finding accommodation to fit all of us in one room. The room was big and self-contained. Hosts great!

Everything. The location, the wonderful property and Carolyn, the host - not to mention her wee dog, Lacey. We had two grandsons with us and Carol was brilliant with them, showing them rocks, fossils and getting them friends with the sheep!

Lyn was a lovely host and made us feel very welcome. The room had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable. Perfect location for the amazing nighttime bush walk and glow worm caves.

Our stay at Waitomo Retreat was absolutely perfect. The place itself was beautiful, and the views were truly amazing. We stayed in a small cabin with two bedrooms, and it had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. The host and his parents were incredibly accommodating and made sure every part of our stay was just right. Their warm hospitality really made the experience special. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay — highly recommended!

Amazing place, very chill, nice crowd and wonderful hosts. Loved all the animals in the property, very cute. The place has a tennis court, a pool, and lots of info about different attractions in the area. Location-wise, the whole region is quite rural, but the hostel is well located close to the main village
