The owners have truly thought of everything to create a cowy farm experience! Animals were an added bonus.
Owners had put together a detailed manual on how everything worked and all local activities and restaurants including brochures with pricing and menus!

The location was at the top of the mountain with a magnificent view. The cabin had everything you could need, nestled amongst a much loved garden. Carolyn was very friendly and welcoming as was Lacey the dog. It was just so peaceful and private. A unique experience in nature.

Fantastic location and really well run. Facilities have everything you need.
Really appreciate the owners' suggestions on spots to visit in the area. They gave us detailed directions and a map, and lent us torches to go for a night walk and see the glowworms outside the caves (for free!).
Would absolutely stay again

Lovely owners; very helpful directing us to local bar (friendly and cheap steaks) and suggested we did a river walk in the dark to see glow worms - brilliant.
Long chat about the clear skies.

Our tour of the Ruakura cave was great.
Our tour of the Ruakura cave was great. Our tour guide held the kids' attention the entire way and answered all of their questions. The caves are amazing to see and this walking tour is just the right length, even for young kids.
Don't forget to book ahead and take a warm top as it is quite chilly down there.

I enjoyed the peacefulness of the countryside.
I enjoyed the peacefulness of the countryside.
The have a small kitchen, with gas oven cooker, fridge.
There are two bedrooms. Double bed. and the other has bunks.
The shower is very small. Big outdoor bathtub! We stayed there as we visited Waitomo Caves the next day. We bought our own food to cook.

My first trip was 45 years ago.
My first trip was 45 years ago. In comparison back then there was no boat ride. So that was a nice way of finishing the tour. It was summer back then so there were more glow worms. So best time would be in the warmer months. We’re allowed to take photos at the very end only. Would have been nice to have been able to take a few of the caves itself without a flash as memorabilia. Also with groups going through close together it was hard to hear what our guide was saying over other guide’s voices. “Cup of tea” (John) was an excellent guide and very humorous and knowledgeable.

We booked an excursion with The Legendary Black Water...
We booked an excursion with The Legendary Black Water Rafting Experience Waitomo Caves and it was amazing! Our guides, Garret & Alicia, were fun, helpful, informative, and made sure were were safe in the cave & the water; this is is a must do! They take pictures for you because it would be impossible to float in a tube & take pictures yourself.
