Everything. Beautiful quaint charm, lovely designed lodge, peaceful location, incredible service and hospitality. The onsite chef is devine and the nicest person. The spa massage was one of the best I’ve had. The owner shared about his culture, family, special meaning of the property and even tribal wine. All in all if I could give this property a 20 out of 10 I would!

Beautiful place, right on the Lake. We had a lakefront studio and the room was beautiful, immaculate, comfortable and had a great view from the balcony. The whole place was beautiful and the staff we met friendly and helpful. The food was the best dinner we have had since visiting NZ!

Having stayed here on the 4/11/24, I was pleasantly reminded of a time when everyone whom greeted you, greeted you the way we were treated. With genuine, sincere, willingness. The rooms are immaculate. The view from the top floor....mesmerizing. The service....unparalleled and unrivaled. This is such a pleasant, relaxing, homely place to stay. Rarely have I felt the need to commend anyone before, but this place is quite literally stunning. I will DEFINITELY be returning to THIS astounding establishment. Peter is without a doubt one of the most helpful, sincere, genuine, typically "Kiwi" hosts I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Well done sir.

This is such a lovely place to stay. Our cabin was clean, fresh and welcoming. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Homemade biscuits were such a nice touch in our room. We had a view of the lake, and it was walking distance to town where there are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. I would highly recommend staying here.

Close to the city centre. Clean and tidy. Had everything we needed. Our room was lovely and warm. Beds were comfy. Kids loved the hot outdoor pool although the private spa pools weren’t that warm compared to the swimming pool otherwise we will definitely be back to stay again in the near future.

This hotel has a special factor in that it has a natural thermal spa in its garden! What a delight to be able to try out the 3 ponds next to the river, where we saw a visiting seal. All the meals we had were exceptional value and quality abs the staff were warm and welcoming.

Taupo is a beautiful location and a great place to spend a few days. There are lots of things for visitors to do, or you can just chill out at the lakeshore and soak up the beautifully tranquil scenery. It really is my favourite place in the North Island and I always make a point of spending some time there whenever I am in New Zealand.

We were travelling to Hamilton to visit family and friends and the location was exactly right for us. We didn't see much of Hamilton as that wasn't the purpose of our visit, though we did get to visit the Hamilton Gardens and that was a lovely experience.

In late 2024 my wife and I visited friends that live in...

In late 2024 my wife and I visited friends that live in Whitianga for a weekend. It was a Chamber of Commerce weekend, sunshine, nice temperatures and good amenities. So fat forward to 2025 and instead of spending our Canadian winter in Palm Springs area, we decided to spend it based in Whitianga and enjoy the Coromandel Peninsula. We won’t be disappointed, I know that.

The food was great everywhere we went ,shopping was great and we booked the sunset cruise for Saturday evening that was awesome which took us around the inner harbour with a guide who was a local telling us the history of the area

The main point of our trip was to visit Hobbiton Movie Set. This is an amazing experience, our second trip. Have done both the lunch & dinner experience. Food, staff & experience rate a 10. Had a great meal at Sofra, food & staff were great. Breakfast at The Rich Coffee Cafe was nice and the staff were ok. Visited the I-Centre too and found the staff to be helpful.

Our tour of the Ruakura cave was great.

Our tour of the Ruakura cave was great. Our tour guide held the kids' attention the entire way and answered all of their questions. The caves are amazing to see and this walking tour is just the right length, even for young kids. Don't forget to book ahead and take a warm top as it is quite chilly down there.

We loved it.

We loved it. The grandkids loved the playground by the mall area. We had a great time at the Goldmine experience and fully recommend this as they were very informative and something different to see. Everything was close by with ample parking which made it easier to get around. Wea made our meals although meal delivery is possible. The ocean is also close. Would love to come back to Thames at some point
