Buffet dinner and breakfasts are on offer and as we indulged in the breakfast it was delicious and definitely worth it. Can't comment on buffet dinner as we chose to choose from the bar menu which was Thoroughly enjoyed our stay if coming this way again, we will definitely stay again.👍🏿

The location was absolutely amazing - right at the beach, next to a playground with lots of toys in the sand pit, water / beach views from the deck.
The beds and pillows were very comfortable. There was enough space in the bed room to set up a baby cot.
The kitchen was well equipped and offered free tea, coffee, hot chocolate and a small bottle of milk. The fridge and freezer are nice and big.
The interior of our self contained unit looked fairly new and it was all clean.
We could park our car right next to our cabin.
Absolutely loved staying here and would love to come back sometime. Highly recommended for a relaxed tie away with the family at a lovely, safe west coast beach ❤️

Very clean and the room came with everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were a good size with comfortable beds. Excellent place to stay especially when travelling with kids. Close proximity to the coast, food places and shops. Loved our stay and we will definitely stay at Dawsons when we go to New Plymouth again.

We booked 4 rooms for the whole family and it was a great stay. Checkin was very quick and we got 4 free milk bottles for welcoming. The room was spacious with all amenities needed. The bedsheet is clean and the bed is comfy, there's a hot water indoor swimming pool which is a great plus. Nice view from the upper rooms.

We attended a concert at the Bowl of Brookland and whilst in the area visited the downtown area. Walked along the waterfront which is really lovely with the Wind Wand, board walks and various sculptures. Stopped at a cafe for lunch.
It was friendly and we enjoyed exploring some of the streets and shops.
Would love to have stayed longer, visited the Len Lye gallery and Pukekura Park

We visited on a recommendation from friends that the beach camp would be perfect to celebrate our granddaughters 5th birthday and it was!
We enjoyed the beach across the road, with lifeguards. The pool and playground was well utilized with families and the amenities were perfect.
We enjoyed Opunake town visiting the antique shop, cafes and the hotel.

It is a natural beach loved by surfers! Take the kickboard, go directly into the sea, and enjoy the fun of surfing. If you are tired, you can rest on the beach. The sunset is beautiful and not to be missed. But there is no lighting after sunset so be careful walking back to where you parked

Super Market and small businesses appreciated. Convenience of travelling North and South of Waitara to Taranaki historical sites suited our family. Close to the sea a bonus. Managed a little fishing. Play Park great for children.

This is a place for a get-away to refresh yourself.
This is a place for a get-away to refresh yourself. The boutique accomodation is comfortable and clean. The restaurant at the hotel is special with amazing food, and a great atmosphere. The wifi didnt reach our room but who cares?! we came for a break 💕 Sunshine and great walks nearby made it a great escape from life.
And bonus (although I didnt use it this time) this place is pet friendly so you can stay with your dog!

Wild beaches, very friendly people, talked to the local fishermen.

Pukekura Park is worth a visit especially to see the Lights...
Pukekura Park is worth a visit especially to see the Lights Festival but also during the day as well. The Coastal walkway is also a very interesting aspect of the town, but do watch out for the number of bikes that abound! -- on what is supposed to be a "shared" resource. Regrettably FAR TOO MANY cyclists seem to believe that it is for their benefit alone and pay too little attention to adults and children using the walkway as pedestrians. This applies throughout the Walkway, but is particularly bad towards the Rewa Rewa Bridge where many prefer to cycle / race rather than walk!! Something should be done by the appropriate authorities to STRESS that it is a "shared" resource BEFORE there is a nasty accident!!

It was very poor accommodation. Not clean before we got there room was very smelly n musky dirty smell. Lots missing from room. Utensils, TV remote, pots, toaster, iron. We couldn’t book anywhere else all booked out a big festival was on in the area. Emergency housing was in the Lodge they were disgustingly dirty (bogens) Dogs inside their hotel room. Their rooms were disgustingly yuk. Not a good experience I would not recommend anyone to stay there. Very poor. Bad Experience.
