United KingdomThe location is amazing, 10 minutes out from Matamata surrounded by beautiful mountain and farmland scenery. Brenda was very welcoming and friendly. Her cat even more so! The bed was to die for and it was lovely to relax in the hot tub in the evening. My daughter loved the garden with the play equipment and little Hobbit hole. Great location to go to Hobbiton and Tauranga.

Neil and Sue were fantastic hosts, got the balance of being around to help with questions or advice on activities, whilst giving guests privacy spot on!
The food was a real highlight and even more impressive given Neil and Sue also do this themselves!
The cottage and main property were furnished perfectly and we loved the interiors, bedding, wash products and beautiful gardens in particular.

The host, Anita, was incredible. She was super helpful and made everyone feel at home. It's obvious that she wants a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere, and she's done that perfectly. Will definitely stay again if I'm in the area!

Really kind staff. The room was nothing special, but had comfortable beds, a cozy interior, and a very functional tea kitchen. Lies on the outskirts of the town, but within walking distance of the centre through a lovely town

The main point of our trip was to visit Hobbiton Movie Set. This is an amazing experience, our second trip. Have done both the lunch & dinner experience. Food, staff & experience rate a 10.
Had a great meal at Sofra, food & staff were great.
Breakfast at The Rich Coffee Cafe was nice and the staff were ok.
Visited the I-Centre too and found the staff to be helpful.

Karangahake is a great area to explore and enjoy the...
Karangahake is a great area to explore and enjoy the outdoors. You can head into Waihi or Paeroa town easily enough to grab food and enjoy. You can spend the full day out in Karangahake Gorge adventuring through all areas, finding tunnels and old mining equipment.

Morrinsville is a small country town, close to Hamilton.
Morrinsville is a small country town, close to Hamilton. It's easy to get around. I visited redoubt bar restaurant which was great and Loxies is a nice cafe. I heard there are mineral hot pools in Te Aroha close by which are amazing but didn't get to visit them as we were only there for a short time attending a wedding. Rosebrook Wedding Venue was lovely.

Te aroha is a cute town with beautiful historic buildings and so much history. The domain, the walks and the hot pools are a must see.
We ate at the office which was really delicious. The countryside around te aroha is so beautiful

This house was wonderfully built by the owner in a unique timber style and is very comfortable for a total of 10 guests.
The interior and exterior are arranged to gather all the guests on the several tables put at their disposal.
The garden is heaven and properly maintained.
It’s quiet and relaxing.
We highly recommend this house

It was a great place to relax away from people and have time...
It was a great place to relax away from people and have time to spend walking amongst the trees, admiring the different flowers and the artworks that are installed throughout the grounds. It was lovely to enjoy and appreciate all of the hard work that has been completed on this property. Turning an old quarry into a haven for wildlife, nature and art and give children and adults alike and great experience.

Matamata was a complete surprise.
Matamata was a complete surprise. We ate at 4 different restaurants and each place had friendly staff and good selections on the menus. The information centre staff were wonderful and very helpful.
Hobbiton exceeded our expectations.

If you are coming by car take the Old Tauranga rd & Pukekaure rd off state highway 2 (sign posted golf rd) from Bay of Plenty for excitement. Go & see the glow worms at night. Great walks & cycling along the river

Great place to stop off at especially if travelling to Coromandel. Go out for Tea, (Chambers Cafe and Bar was lovely our go-to-place) ,get supplies and have a break.If you’re into Natural fibre, beautiful clothes and a cafe meal Annah Stretton has her Wharehouse/Cafe there with great bargains. ❤️Also Tearoha mineral Spas is 15k further up Rd and is brilliant in Winter. Haircut in mind…Silver scissors. (Book ahead)😁

Great little country town in a good location, close enough...
Great little country town in a good location, close enough to the both Auckland and Hamilton cities but far away enough for peace and quiet.
A town with some great eating options of cafes and restaurants along with local tourism facilities.
