Location: easy walking distance to local shops, cafes, and the ferry terminals. It says it in the name, great "Harbour View". Free onsite and safe street parking. Quiet. Comfortable bed. I enjoyed the best sleep I've had in weeks. Well appointed. It had everything you need (and more)... I could have well stayed longer.

We replaced a room on the spot that very day. We arrived and were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and had what was needed - comfortable beds, clean linens, kitchen utensils and more. The shared kitchen was very clean and so were the showers. Thank you!

Smooth ferry ride and beautiful views.

Smooth ferry ride and beautiful views. Cute, peaceful and walkable town. Enjoyed dinners at Thirsty Pig and Pinch of Spice. Views from Marina a dream. Easy hikes at Harborview track and Bob's Bay. Nice place to relax before heading onto Marlborough Sounds. Had one overcast/rainy afternoon but otherwise good weather in November.

Blenheim is worth visiting! Cellar doors are endless. Impromptu or pre-arranged private winery visits are a must! We selected Cloudy Bay Winery for a private tour, (which proved to be an amazing experience), and Clos Henri for a walk-in wine-tasting under the sun, overlooking… (what else?) vineyards everywhere! (It was magical) Blenheim has great restaurants too: Arbour Restaurant and Scotch Wine Bar to name a few!

The Portage was a lovely place to stay, the views were amazing and the staff extremely helpful. We were dissapointed about only 1 restaurant being open, and therefore not a large selection to choose from. We would recommend asking in advance, if they can make up a sharing platter, as this is not on the menu, and when we asked, they mentioned we should have ordered in advance. The beautiful view from the deck totally lends itself to drinking and grazing on a delicious platter. The kids loved the kayaks and paddle boards. We would recommend booking a transfer and taking a picnic to a secluded beach - we had a wonderful time.

Stunning location in a lovely rural setting.

Stunning location in a lovely rural setting. Abundance of wild birds in a beautiful garden setting containg fruit orchards. A very relaxing B & B where the hosts have added so many little extra touches eg chocolates beside the bed, M&Ms, good selection of teas. There is a pub about 2 miles away which serves stunning renowned beef burgers. Jill and Peter were wonderful hosts. We would wholeheartedly recommend the Owls Rest!

My stay was cut short due to Covid =lockdown, however the 2 nights i spent here was great, would recommend this hotel to others. Very clean spacious and well located for vineyards. I loved the remoteness of where we stayed, yet the sense of being safe and looked after by the locals. The views and natural environment are sublime. The only permitted way to get here is currently by boat as the road has been damaged by a storm and is only allowed to be used by residents' and service vehicles. This makes it very safe to walk up the road to tracks into the wonderlands the area has to offer. The walks vary from fairly easy to somewhat taxing. Some of the tracks have a challenging gradient if you are not used to walking, and would be more difficult if they are wet. Having said that, we are 'senior citizens' with average fitness and we managed to summit the Onahau lookout (416 meters / 1368 feet) above sea level) and return in one piece.

Lochmara Bay has so much to see and do and has beautiful scenery. Peaceful and quiet if you don't mind the odd speedboat or jetski. Lochmara Lodge is a fantastic option for people stopping in from tramping on the Queen Charlotte Track or visiting by boat (20 mins from Picton) - the accommodation was excellent as was the food and activities on offer. They even take your bags boat to door and back! Activities include roaming the stunning gardens with unusual forest artwork, enjoying the wildlife in the forest and marine life from the viewing boat, feeding the animals, kayaking, swimming when warm enough, lying in the hammocks!!! Big shout out to the staff who work hard and are helpful and friendly.

We had only 1 night in Picton because the road had been cut by wild weather and bushfires. No reduction in price was offered. We had hoped to spend a day in Nelson, but did not have time. The Picton area is very picturesque, and well worth visiting.
