The staff at the reception was very nice and helpful, and they did a very nice gesture for us when we told them we were there as part of our honeymoon.

A 1 night stay to break up our journey from Wellington to Hamilton. Large 1 bedroom apartment which was very well organised and clean. Two large sofas made for a comfortable relaxing evening. The pool is small but the hot tub (no bubbles) was heated to 38 degrees. Both were enjoyable. The kitchen (no oven) had everything you needed to prepare a meal. The staff were friendly and provided a bottle of milk for a much needed cup of tea

What did I like? The secret thermal mineral pool in my apartment. The massive lawn space looking out over Lake Taupo and the sky; oh the sky. Crossed the road and we were in thermal sands and water with palm trees on the roadside. People swimming, kids playing. Moved up a bit to the next bay it was our own wee private beach. What's not to love?
And pretty much in the town and close to everything you need. 100%

Clean and tidy.
Had everything we needed.
Our room was lovely and warm.
Beds were comfy.
Kids loved the hot outdoor pool although the private spa pools weren’t that warm compared to the swimming pool otherwise we will definitely be back to stay again in the near future.

Perfect location. Tidy and clean rooms. Great customer service. We loved our suite room. We are even coming back again. We never visit the same accommodation twice. But we just love The Cove and their understanding of our needs with two special needs children.

Very comfortable accommodation, a few minutes from the lake. 10 minutes from the wharf and about the same from the hot beach. Very friendly staff and nothing was too much bother. Great breakfast either cooked or continental.

Spacious rooms, great equipped and tv's that work so well. The pool and smaller hotpool are nice and warm. Everyone is quiet and respectfull and kind. The woman at the front desk was very hospitable. Would recommend!

I've been to Taupo many times. So much to do there.
I've been to Taupo many times. So much to do there. Lots of family activities such as hot pools, mini golf, bungy jumping, Huka Falls and so much more. Beautiful area with magnificent views of the lake and mountains. Very picturesque district!

Close to Tongariro National Park and a short drive to Taupo. Beautiful scenery on the drive from Hamilton down the west side of Lake Taupo. Turangi itself was larger than we thought with all the amenities we needed. Great grocery store (New World) and good gas prices.

The location is lovely, the clean room very tastefully done with an excellent bathroom. Self serve breakfast is provided in the room so no need to pack up and then drive to get food. The check out time of 11am allows for a relaxing morning especially after a long drive like we had.
Kinloch is nearby on the lakeside with a general store. Worth a walk and a swim. The quiet side of Lake Taupo.

Kurutau is a beautiful very peaceful with amazing local and friendly people. We went on the river run fantastic and then a swim in the Lake. The weather is fresh, crisp nice and chill in the evening. My daughter's bach was right on top of Omori breathtaking view of the Lake and we could walk down for a swim.
I would highly recommend Kurutau to families, friends and to anyone doing a road trip around New Zealand.

Would stay at this place again but they need to give better instructions to get in the gate as the code doesn’t work. Don’t tell you that! Also doesn’t tell you no visitors allowed on the site but says that on the info sheet inside. Like you go to see family but they can’t stop in for a cuppa - bit rough!

Taupo is a beautiful location and a great place to spend a few days. There are lots of things for visitors to do, or you can just chill out at the lakeshore and soak up the beautifully tranquil scenery. It really is my favourite place in the North Island and I always make a point of spending some time there whenever I am in New Zealand.

The beach is nice but it is always super crowded like the Riveria or something. Very limited facilities in Kinloch with just one general store and a cafe both of which are always busy because of the beach crowds. If staying in Kinloch you need to bring food with you.

The lake is beautiful, especially the sunsets. Lots of coffee shops and restaurants to choose from. Easy to get to Huka Falls and craters of the Moon. It was great to see snow atop one of the peaks at Tongarirro N.P. from the Huka Falls lookout.

Turangi is a beautiful, scenic location and the people are very welcoming and friendly. We were impressed by the service and choices at the Hydro Cafe, the Flytackle shop and the NZ Post shop. We also enjoyed the Pihanga Gallery showcasing local art and crafts and a delicious Italian meal at Valentinos. It was beautiful in late autumn and we'll visit again.
