Hong KongFirst, the extremely helpful young lady at the reception at 1730 August 6. In brief, we had a 'missing' baggage for 7 days, and I received conflicting messages from the airline (SAS). So I asked the young lady for help. In no time she called the airport to confirm its whereabouts (at Svolvaer airport). Then, she assisted us further by calling a local 🚕. All the time, she was courteous and soft spoken. Second, the hotel is in a wonderful setting and the most iconic part of this beautiful town. Third, a good and tasty breakfast is provided. Fourth, it's situated near the ferry ⛴️ pier (10 minutes' walk).

We absolutely LOVED our 4-night stay at the Lofoten Islands in our mountain-view cottage. The scenery was the best of our month-long Scandinavian trip. The bedroom at Eliassen was far from perfect as the bed takes up most of the room and I don't like sleeping against the wall but that's just me. And also note there is no espresso coffee onsite but we drove to lovely Bringen cafe in Reine (from 10am, closed Mon) every day and that was perfect! We ate at Elisassen's restaurant most nights which was also fabulous.

Our stay was great, we felt super welcome even though we were late on arrival on the first day. The cabin was even better than we expected - very cozy and warm - and the roads accessing the camping and to the cabins were cleaned every morning from snow.
The camping is close to Kabelvåg, reachable by walking and Svolvær is reachable by car in a few minutes.

The hotel was perfectly situated, close to the centre of town and with an amazing terrace looking out over the sea and mountains. Staff were exceptionally helpful and there is a great atmosphere. Furniture is quirky with a 70s vibe. Bedrooms are very comfortable and spacious.
Pizzas and drinks in the terrace are recommended.

Great location, very private and amazing to watch the auroras as it's in an ideal spot. Very clean, kitchen has all the necessary appliances to cook your own dinner if needed and very spacious shared living area.

Pretty city in an amazing environment. We stayed here on a Sunday so everything was unfortunately closed besides the bar and turist shops.
I would have loved to explore more both in and around the city !

Beautiful home and the perfect amount of space for a group of 5 friends travelling together. Location was wonderful and several steps away from a grocery store (Coop). Kitchen was fully functional and a cozy living room to unwind in. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Lovely town in the Lofoten Islands with a beautiful beach nearby (Rorvika). Great cafes and restaurants especially Klatrekafeen. Would like to have done some hiking nearby but we ran out of time and it was actually too hot!

The central location of Leknes on the Lofoten Islands was great for exploring the south and north. Shopping and dining were within walking distance of the apartment. I had a tasty fish and chips at the Diggs restaurant. The Bunpass grocery store had a lot to offer, and they had the best cinnamon rolls!

Please do not go to Scandinavia Hotel, the manager of the place is simply not human, did not compromise on a small mistake we made in the booking, they do not answer the phones and there was not a single person at the reception, simply a terrible experience.

Ballstad is a pituresque fishing village surronded by mountains. It's located right in the center of Lofoten which makes it a great base for those we want to explore the archipelago. Buksnes church is charming and a must see.
Also it's near to Leknes where you can find a lot of stores and supermarkets.
Ballstad will have a special place in our hearts as it was where we saw the most fantastic Aurora show which we were expecting for so long.

A very dreamy and picturesque town.
A very dreamy and picturesque town. If you are looking for a quiet place to unwind, relax and enjoy the surrounding. This is the place. There is a small pier to walk on. The cinnamon roll in the village bakery is delish! Having a car makes staying here convenient as we drove to different places for food and exploration.

Best place to stay for 2-3 nights to explore the western part of Lofoten. Fully furnished cabin is best so you can easily cook or reheat food as your own convenient time. Most importantly to enjoy the surrounding. Immerse in the serenity atmosphere and just chill 😎

Such an incredible place!
Such an incredible place! I visited in off season and two out of three days had good enough weather to explore. The third day had the most intense wind I have experienced, so it wasn’t safe to explore. I was happy with this experience but depending on what you want you may want to visit in summer, so that the trails aren’t so muddy. Even when they are, there is plenty of scenic routes to walk in between the towns!

Beautiful drive off the main E10 road with mountains and fall colors. The most beautiful quaint village on the water. The cafe on site, the art gallery, the historical buildings, the restaurant, the fishing boats, the sauna…all of it was amazing and lovely.
