The room was spacious, clean and had a lovely outdoor space with a view of the castle ruins. Right in the center of town and walkable to both Christmas markets.

Our bedroom was exceptional and loved the decor. Breakfast was tasty and brilliant service. Would thoroughly recommend this place.

Meerssen is een leuk dorpje maar vooral de hele omgeving is zeer de moeite waard. Bezoek zeker Luik en Maastricht. twee prachtige steden waar je bij beiden je prima een dag kan vermaken en heerlijk kunt eten. Verken Zuid Limburg per auto of op de fiets maar een mooie wandeling is ook zeker aan ter raden bijv. in Oud Valkenburg rondom Schaloen.

Valkenburg is a very touristy place, very suited to young families. Lots of restaurants, bars, souvenirshops and so on. The place has a few interesting historic sites, like a castle ruin, old medieval buildings and ofcourse the mining industry. If you keep that in mind it is a nice place to be. From Valkenburg it is easy to go for daytrips to Maastricht (use the train!), Aken, The Three Country Border in Vaals and Luik. The surrounding area, Southern Limburg, is just beautiful.

Stayed in Valkenburg a bit by chance -- we were visiting friends somewhere else. Nonetheless, it was a very nice surprise. Very interesting set of bars and cafes in the old town, all with their own decoration. Interesting castle ruins. Great base for visiting South Limburg, Maastricht or Aachen.

We only visited Venlo centre once during the evening, spending the day we had in the surrounding area visiting the restored Kasteel de Keverberg and Kasteeltuinen (Castle Gardens) Arcen. We would have liked to visit the Limburgs Museum in Venlo.. next time..

Nice small town in the middle of all that makes Limburg the beautiful province it is. Near enough to Margraten, Valkenburg and Maastricht, main places of significant interest. Plenty of good restaurants in the town itself and near Gulpen, which has all stores you might conceivably need.

Since we were there for only 1 night, an accessible shower was not necessary. Had we stayed longer, the staff would have moved us when an accessible room became available.

But considering those handicaps the place did remarkably well and the dogs absolutely adored it - wonderful, safe country walking, their first geese, plenty of interesting artworks ......and total peace and quiet. I would put in a special mention for the excellent , charming service - nothing was too much trouble, and everyone was friendly and helpful. The dogs would say, if they could, that they LOVED their smart khaki padded beds, the generous bowls of dog treats, the designer poo bags and the admiring pats from one of the staff, who slipped them a few extra nibbles.....

The hotel is amazing. You really feel in a small castle. The landscape is beautiful. The internal settings are modern and updated. Rooms very comfortable. Staff super friendly. We took advantage of the lower rate out of season. But be aware that the restaurant is so amazing that you will probably spend more there than in the room fee, like we did. Overall a surprisingly good experience.

The staff was very friendly, the facilities were pristine, the room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The sauna was well worth the price of admission and so was the breakfast: plenty of fresh, tasty options to choose from. Definitely if ever presented with the opportunity, I would book a stay in this hotel again.
