The staff was so personable and helpful, the breakfast was delicious, and we made very good use of the pool! It was so close to all the sites we wanted to see and had a perfect stay in Leon with our two kids. Would definitely come back!

Our stay at Puesta del Sol was amazing! The place is very beautiful and quiet. The rooms are spacious, beautiful and clean, and the breakfast (with homemade Bread) was delicious. On top of that, the owners are very sweet and helped us with everyting. Our stay was perfect - even more than we expected!! So if you’re planning to go to Leon or Las Peñitas, I really recommend to stay at Puesta del Sol.

This place is amazing! It is so, so beautiful! The rooms are really spacious, pool area is really nicely made. The place is new and very clean. There are only 4 rooms so it feels very private. The owner is very friendly. We also enjoyed food & drinks in here. We had a great time and would definitely come back :) This place is a gem

Senora Marytza and her husband welcomed me sincerely, provided any advice where I needed, They arranged the shuttle bus to Granada. They also arrange a laundry. Since there was a lot to see, I extended my stay from 3 to 5 nights. The hostal location is fantastic, just a few meters from the central zone. I loved a small, green garden in the middle of the hostal.

This has been our favorite hotel so far on our three month holiday through Central america. On the positive side, the rooms.were big, bes comfortable, and it had a nice leather chair and ottoman that you could use. The bathroom had hot water on demand and was spacious enough. On the negative side, the television did not work at all. Just outside our door we had a nice pool which we used daily. It had three lounge chairs and a big seated chair that fit two people. Breakfast was I included and consisted of two choices everyday, unfortunately they were the same choices each day we were there. That said, the breakfast was fine and the service was good. Staff at the reception desk spoke good English. Overall, I would strongly recommend this hotel if you are looking for good quality at a reasonable price.

I loved everything about my stay. Communication before and during my stay was excellent. The hotel staff arranged my airport pick up, which was a fair price. The receptionist (Angelika?) was very welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. The whole hotel has a lovely colonial / vintage feel. There was some really beautiful artwork throughout, some of which was painted by the owners mum. It had a lovely charming feel. I didn’t use the small pool, but this is definitely a bonus for the high temperatures in Leon. My room was lovely and comfortable. Everywhere was spotless. Breakfast was included and was also excellent. The location was perfect for exploring Leon and felt very safe. I would definitely stay here again, if I come back to Leon.

Food is great with huge surfer portions and comes quick if you pre-order your meals at the start of the day. Common areas are super comfortable, overlooking the beach, and encourages chatting with the other guests but there's also areas to chill in a hammock, do yoga, or watch the surf and beach action. The young staff are very lively and welcoming. Our beginner surf lesson was awesome. A/C in the room worked very well and the sleep was quiet (except during the day when neighbours play music). Shared bathrooms were cleaned frequently.

The property is so beautiful and the room was very cute and comfortable, with everything we would need. The staff, especially Isaacs and Miguel were just wonderful, they made us feel so welcome and were helpful with us trying to practice our Spanish! The breakfast was great and served in a gorgeous courtyard. We enjoyed time playing pool in the bar and having a dip in the pool. The location was ideal we could walk everywhere in town easily and felt safe.

What truly stood out was the exceptional care and warmth of the staff. Unfortunately, I fell ill during my trip (completely unrelated to the hotel), but as a solo traveler, I was deeply touched by the genuine support and kindness I received from the team. Special thanks to Sandrine and Mariana, who run the hotel with so much love and dedication. Their care made me feel surrounded by a sense of family, even when I was far from home.

We had a very comfortable stay at Casa Blanca, the rooms were super clean and comfortable, it’s a little of our town (about 15 min walk) but I actually enjoyed this because it was much more quiet at night and nice to be around the locals. The staff were very friendly and the laundry service was amazing, nothing better then clean and folded clothes.

Leon is a pretty and interesting city.

Leon is a pretty and interesting city. We enjoyed a walking tour and the art museum was absolutely fantastic. We also really enjoyed doing a few trips from here - to the beach/mangroves at Las Penatas, and a volcano hike. We spent a week here which was a perfect amount of time for us, but we travel quite slowly!

Las Penitas is only 2 hours from Managua and 20 mins from lovely Leon. It’s totally relaxing, with some great places to eat for every budget, surf schools and mangroves to explore. The fishermen bringing their boats in up the river are a great sight to see at high tide. All in all, it’s a truly magical place, that I secretly hope not tooooooo many people will go to😜

Leo is a very visitor friendly city.

Leo is a very visitor friendly city. It is small enough that you can walk everywhere. Very friendly people and happy to help. Lots of culture as well as outdoor activities including beaches and volcano hikes and boarding nearby. My favorite place in Nicaragua.

I really see no reason to visit Leon, unless you have a...

I really see no reason to visit Leon, unless you have a specific purpose to go there as in business, or family. The place is like living in a furnace, and just doesn´t offer anything to make the stay worthwhile.

Food was great, Tony was an amazing server and took care of us like we were family. On the down side, hotel needs a lot of improvement. Bathrooms are very duty, the lobby for some reason smelled like pee, and the cushions on the dining area were very duty too.
