SwitzerlandIt was the best hotel staff on our Namibia round trip !!!! Attentive, helpful, but also humorous. Our companion for the morning and dinner would probably be the employee of the year. Many thanks. The houses are very clean and the grounds well maintained. The way to the entrance of the national park is a bit distant, but for that the wild animals graze right outside the front door.

The magic started when you looked outside the window as there would be animals everywhere in the surrounding areas. Rhinos, zebras, gnus and so many more! Loved the food too. Prices for bar and wine was extremely reasonable and personnel was very helpful and friendly

I don’t know where to start it was just amazing beeing welcomed to this place. Our room was beyond beautiful with an outdoor bed (they‘ll arrange sheets and everything if you tell the reception) a second terrace with sunloungers, outdoorshower and another balcony right in front of your bed. Interior is very spacious with gorgeous big windows, a big comfortable bed, lounge area with the most amazing view and a very big bathroom. Minibar and coffeestation are filled up so you can enjoy a drink right when you arrive. We had Zebras right in front of the lodge when we arrived. For sundowner you can choose to visit the upper deck (up a small hill), they‘ll arrange the drink you told them in advance and also very good tapas. Thanks a lot to Willie and the second waiter for arranging our drinks last minute and for racing up the hill with them and our tapas. :)
After that head right to dinner, honestly the best dinner we had during our whole holiday. The steak was amazing, the starter and the amuse guele, the soup and the dessert.
Lastly the whole staff really cares and seems to really enjoy beeing there and working together you can really feel the team spirit.
Its about 40min drive to Sesriem Gate (they provide early breakfast with you want to leave before sunrise) for us that was totally fine. We arrived at the gate for sunrise and at Sossusvlei in time to walk up Big Daddy before the heat. Scenery and light is amazing at this time of the day. After running down the hill to Deadvlei we drove back to the Lodge to enjoy a beautiful afternoon and evening.
Only downside that we just stayed 2 nights and couldn’t enjoy a whole day at the lodge. We‘ll come back, thanks again.

The beauty of the scenery where Namib Desert Lodge is situated is not possible to do justice in photos. They have some marked trails you can hike by yourself, but also arrange trips and activities. It's a 2 hr drive from Sossusvlei and, yes, they do arrange daily excursions there - a must! The staff at Namib Desert Lodge were all wonderful - attentive and taking the best care of us. The room I had was great - clean and comfortable. The restaurant had good food - game meat always part of the menu - and they have a good wine cellar. I stayed five days and really relaxed there - enjoyed sitting outside in the lounge chairs with a book and watch a group of oryx/gemsbok come by the water hole just outside the lodge, every afternoon.

Solitaire roadhouse is in the tiny settlement of Solitaire that boasts garage facilities, fuel, a general store, a café/restaurant, and a bakery that has what is generally regarded as the best apple crumble in Namibia. The road house itself is beautifully set around a swimming pool and covered recreation area. The staff are exceptionally helpful and I would certainly stay here again. The location is quirky with a number of old cars sitting at the front and ancient road signs adorn the general store.

Lodge with the most beautiful sunset seen in Namibia. The room has a classic style, spacious and with animals that approach near the lodge. There is also an artificial waterhole with a post for animal sighting. The dinner both inside and outside was fantastic. Highly recommended.

I like NWR staff here more than Etosha. They are naturally friendly and explain detail of the park rules, how to do everthing right.
Dead valley is gorgeous. They are some hidden place near dead valley to see gemsbox on red desert sand. If your rent 4x4 and known how to drive on soft sand, go past the dead valley parking spot, it will have trees for lunch and walk about 1km to see gemsbox walking, eating, sleeping

The room was extremely comfortable and we would have loved to spend more time here. We booked the sunrise drive which was one of the highlights of our trip to Namibia. The sunrise went on forever and our guide was very informative. Surprisingly we were the only ones who chose the option that morning.
The only downside was the restaurant. While the food was OK we had to sit inside next to a large mobile air conditioner. One staff member would move it so it didn’t blow directly on us and another would move it back. It was so strong it kept blowing our plastic water bottle over. A bit more sensitivity would have been welcome.

What a beautiful place my goodness. So much to do in the area - we would have definitely stayed longer to try out the different activities. Climbing the dunes at Sossusvlei was honestly the best day. It was beautiful and I can’t wait to be back!

We stayed in this location mainly to visit Sossusvlei which is further south. Solitaire itself is a charming but tiny settlement - only a few buildings and a petrol station, however it has an amazing cafe serving "the world's best apple pie" and it was! Solitaire is about a 20 minute drive from Soft Adventure Camp at the Namib Naukluft Lodge.

It was busy but still private enough not to spoil the overnight stay. The staff were very helpful in the shop. It was useful to have the fuel station as well. The supplies in the shop were adequate for the overnight stay and the location was convenient for Sossusvlei. The drive into Sossusvlei was fine but very crowded when we got to Deadvlei. Well worth a visit though.

SOlitair mountain lodge is a beautiful lodge with an incredible setting. they have a beautiful pool and watering hole close by which brings animals in such as zebra and Gemsbok/Oryx. The rooms were comfortable and large and the space is neat and well maintained. friendly staff made it extra easy to check in. We definitelywould stay and extra night at this lodge.
