this place is really nice personnel is helpful facilities are great and clean and excellent location i stayed their with my family and got two rooms one next to each other. the day we had check out they kept our baggage till afternoon when we came back from a tour and then we departed so it was very good.

This was the most beautiful part of my 9-day journey in Africa. First of all, the location of the lodge felt sacred, overlooking the vast African savanna. During the 6:30 a.m. safari, the moment the orange-red sunrise illuminated the land, I was moved to tears. I felt my soul return to its pure essence, no identity, no role, no agenda. In that moment, there was only me, the earth, and the animals. I wasn’t going anywhere. I wasn’t trying to become anyone. I was simply being. The staff were also incredibly kind and welcoming. On my first night, I arrived exhausted, but the smile of the staff at the entrance felt like someone saying, “Welcome home.” After sunset, as I was walking alone from my room to the restaurant in the dark, I met a female staff member who gently said “Company, company.” Then a male staff member walked with me all the way to the restaurant. That gesture deeply touched me. Later during dinner, it was a windy night and I was feeling cold. One of the female staff members kindly offered me a blanket, a small act of care that made me feel truly seen. When I returned to my room, I discovered it had been quietly turned down and made ready for sleep. That small surprise made me smile. It’s these quiet, thoughtful gestures that make me want to come back again.

The beauty of the scenery where Namib Desert Lodge is situated is not possible to do justice in photos. They have some marked trails you can hike by yourself, but also arrange trips and activities. It's a 2 hr drive from Sossusvlei and, yes, they do arrange daily excursions there - a must! The staff at Namib Desert Lodge were all wonderful - attentive and taking the best care of us. The room I had was great - clean and comfortable. The restaurant had good food - game meat always part of the menu - and they have a good wine cellar. I stayed five days and really relaxed there - enjoyed sitting outside in the lounge chairs with a book and watch a group of oryx/gemsbok come by the water hole just outside the lodge, every afternoon.

this place is stunning! we stayed here one night to then take the next plane to Europe the next day. the rooms are so beautiful. we had two suite, and the size of the room is incredible. everything was perfect. my sugesstion would be implement a bit the breakfast since two of follow a vegan diet was pretty hard to eat something that morning.

It's a 3 star motel with everything you would expect. The restaurant had a nice selection of food and had lots of locals. The staff were very good and organised out early breakfast. We stayed overnight to commence our Safari early.

The people were friendly and assisting when asked questions about the area and its places of interest. Sicilia restaurant the food was delicious, the pizza was the best. To get around town we took a walk, it was safe.

The room was extremely comfortable and we would have loved...

The room was extremely comfortable and we would have loved to spend more time here. We booked the sunrise drive which was one of the highlights of our trip to Namibia. The sunrise went on forever and our guide was very informative. Surprisingly we were the only ones who chose the option that morning. The only downside was the restaurant. While the food was OK we had to sit inside next to a large mobile air conditioner. One staff member would move it so it didn’t blow directly on us and another would move it back. It was so strong it kept blowing our plastic water bottle over. A bit more sensitivity would have been welcome.

Besides what I already said, I really appreciated the good reading lights at the beds. So often the bed lights are useless. Namibgrens caters for everything, within a beautiful scenic surrounding. There is just no end!

i loved how safe the place is.

i loved how safe the place is. Our kids are young aged 7,4 and 2 years old. At first i was sceptical about them sleeping at the Gypsy wagon alone whilst we were in the other cabin about 20 meters away from them. But the kids actually enjoyed sleeping alone. Everything is just so perfetct and the creativity is on another level.

The museum is an amazing tribute to the people of Namibia and a stark reminder of humanity's ability for cruelty. I think it is worth visiting for both citizens and visitors to the country. The restaurant on the 4th floor is a hidden gem. Great setting and excellent service

We stayed in this location mainly to visit Sossusvlei which is further south. Solitaire itself is a charming but tiny settlement - only a few buildings and a petrol station, however it has an amazing cafe serving "the world's best apple pie" and it was! Solitaire is about a 20 minute drive from Soft Adventure Camp at the Namib Naukluft Lodge.

Walking through the town felt safe.

Walking through the town felt safe. It is very clean, and people are friendly and helpful. The taxi, Lefa is brilliant! We used them quite a bit whilst here. We found the malls are impressive! The park in town was a breath of fresh air, clean and well policed. The people within the museums are informative and wow, they are free!

SOlitair mountain lodge is a beautiful lodge with an incredible setting. they have a beautiful pool and watering hole close by which brings animals in such as zebra and Gemsbok/Oryx. The rooms were comfortable and large and the space is neat and well maintained. friendly staff made it extra easy to check in. We definitelywould stay and extra night at this lodge.

The place is well situated and conveniently isolated to provide maximum enjoyment, the view is picturesque and calm. You have the freedom to prepare the food and enjoy it in a space that is well-organized and sufficient within one's needs. Easy access to the place with a small scenery to and from the place and one can also go on a sightseeing drive on good roads. The place is beautiful, excellently designed, well maintained and provides an exclusive intimate environment.
