Amazing balcony views over the forested mountains. It also overlooks the town Friendly indoor kittens that are loving cared for by the staff and guests. Free bus shuttle to and from town at your scheduled arrival and departure times. Or a 10 to 15 minute pleasant walk. Faster downhill ! I'm 63 years old, but it might be for all, as it is a hill. Incredible buffet hearty breakfast, eggs. Roast chicken, salads, crepes, toast , noodles, fruit, etc I stayed for 4 days and loved everything Really caring and helpful staff from around the world Argentina, Spain, Malaysia. China. English. It was so nice to interact with them. They too often go for hikes, ask them they might take you with them.😊

I had a beautiful apartment with great views from the balcony (which contained a small table and two chairs). It was situated in a shopping complex with plenty of choices for eating and drinking, as well as small stores for buying basics. There is also a travel / booking shop on the ground floor run by a very helpful lady. Just a few minutes walk away, there were many small restaurants. Most nights, I ate Indian tandoori food - delicous and reasonably priced. The apartment was well placed for walks around the area, including to the petting zoo (ideal for children) and onward on a short jungle trek to a waterfall.

FAQs about hotels in Cameron Highlands

Tranquil Peaks and Tea Plantations

Malaysia’s highest area accessible by car, the Cameron Highlands is an oasis of calm with lush, undulating hills and stepped tea plantations that go on for miles. Roughly the same size as Singapore, it has a temperate climate, making it a popular retreat from the more oppressive heat at lower altitudes.

Mountain peaks form its backdrop and the highest peak – Mount Batu – has a mossy forest to be explored. At its feet is the 2nd largest town - Brinchang - which is home to a good selection of Cameron Highlands hotels. Brinchang also has as a weekend night market, several strawberry farms and the colourful Cactus Valley, while just north there is a butterfly farm.

A golf course is just south, and further along the road is Tanah Rata – the region’s largest town. Jungle trails lead from here into the surrounding forest and to the Parit and Robinson waterfalls. Just outside town is a traditional settlement of the Orang Asli, Malaysia’s aboriginal people. Guided tours are available for a wonderful insight into their lifestyle.

Whether you choose one of the Cameron Highland apartments, hotels or resorts on Booking.com, take a trip to the Boh Tea Estate, one of the plantations established by the first British settler who the region is named after.

Outstanding rooms just like the last time when we stayed in Dec 2022. We booked the Shasta Suite. It had a huge master bedroom with spacious attached toilet with a full king-sized bed. Then there's a second room with a queen bed, and 2 very small rooms with single beds. Beds were super comfortable. Bathrooms were all equipped standing shower type, very clean. Spacious sitting area with 2 sets of 3-seater sofa with 1 single sofa and a modern 55" tv with YouTube/Netflix apps which worked a treat cos the wifi was very strong and fast. Wifi supported 5 phones with no issues at all. We had 6 adults and 4 little kids. Very comfortable and the kids loved running around the suite. Housekeeping was excellent and super prompt - my girl wasn't well and suddenly threw up while taking a nap and soiled our bed. The pair of ladies swiftly cleaned up and did a great job wiping down. There was no vomit smell thereafter. Food in The Lantern Chinese restaurant was really good and service was prompt and very good! We were very well-taken care of. Food in The Brasserie '85 was good but perhaps not as good at The Lantern. We really enjoyed our stay; it was a refreshing stay, no musty damp odours or weird sewage smells - the whole complex including the children's playgrounds were all very well-maintained.

Everything is over priced. Souveniers, food, water etc.

Everything is over priced. Souveniers, food, water etc. We are locals. The food in Cameron Highlands is more expensive than in the centre of KL. The entrance to the farms and some other venues are just too pricey. A family of 4 will end up paying RM100 to one spot. What about the other destinations? How can we promote local tourism when everything is priced for international tourists? The traffic jam to the farms up on the brinchang slope was the worst. Stuck for one hour and the cars on the other side even worse. Looked like 2 hours to me. No traffic control. I will not go to Cameron Highlands until that unnecessary traffic jam is not sorted.

Nicest town in the Cameron Highlands to stay in.

Nicest town in the Cameron Highlands to stay in. Jasmine Cafe and Travellers Bar to be recommended for food, plus breakfasts at Amsterdam cafe. Good walk between town and the temple at Brinchang. Recommend half day trip to Mossy Forest and BOH tea plantation. Would not recommend any of the trails - too steep / dangerous/ not maintained

The different areas of Ringlet are very interesting to visit however the traffic is a problem in the little towns. Not easy to cross the roads on a busy day. Plenty of eateries to choose from and different types of food. A fair number of atttactions including tea plantations and museums. The roads are extremely winding.

Brinchang is a pleasant town with locals and tourists in the midst. It has schools, a Chinese temple, a mosque, and a Hindu temple, offering a mix of culture and, most importantly, a variety of cuisines from the three primary cultures in Malaysia: Malays, Chinese, and Indians. It has easy access to the Boh Plantation in Sungai Palas, Kea Farm and is very near Tanah Rata. Each of these towns offers a unique blend of attractions to explore, and you will notice different vibes as the tourist demographics shift. There is also plenty of greenery in Brinchang, with forests, hills, and plantations. Hiking is a great way to experience Brinchang.

Cameron Highlands is a refreshing escape from the city heat.

Cameron Highlands is a refreshing escape from the city heat. The cool weather, rolling tea plantations, and misty hills make it incredibly scenic and relaxing. Visiting the strawberry farms, flower gardens, and local markets is fun, and the fresh hill produce is a treat. While some tourist spots can get crowded on weekends, the overall vibe is peaceful and perfect for nature lovers and those looking to unwind.

Its a terrible jam place.

Its a terrible jam place. Most of the time spend was on the road stuck in the jam. Avoid weekends and public holidays. From Tanah Rata to Brinchang is around 3.5Km and we stuck for 4 hours. Beautiful place but proper planning in roadworks needed by the Government. You wont enjoy your holidays on weekends or public holidays.

It is a good place for relaxation (if you find somewhere quiet to stay), and a wide variety of places for eating. But it has become overdeveloped, with too many large hotels and other buildings sprawled along the valley. The main road is noisy with much traffic. Within Tanah Rata there is little concept that you are in mountainous countryside. My attempt at walking had to be abandoned when I encountered collapsed river crossings.
