The moment I booked, Shiyam (the owner of the hotel) whatsapped me and helped me coordinate the speedboats (60 USD each way, less than 2h) + sent me a catalogue with all the activities (whale shark encounter, manta ray, etc) and the whole trip prepation was very smooth and easy.
Once I arrived to the island they picked me up from the port and transferred to the hotel and was received by Anoof - a great guy - who gave me a coconut as a welcome drink. The property is small, 7-8 rooms aprox and very well taken care off. It was inaugurated in November 2024 and everything is very new and clean.
The room was very spacious, AC was working perfectly, super clean and comfortable bed and a very modern bathroom and shower. Wifi was working perfectly from both the room and the restaurant.
The hotel is a at a walking distance from the beaches and the "main street" of the island which has some souvenir stores and tiny supermarket. The hotel offers bikes for free and you can rent mopeds. Hotel provides towels you can take to the beach of for excursions.
The whole island is 3km long and you can easily walk from the hotel to the very end of the island in about 45min-1h. This walk has the most beautiful beach you will ever see. One of the best islands I've ever been to.
Breakfast is included with the room and offers both a local option and international. Quality is really good. Take into account everything in Maldives, specially in tiny islands, is imported so finding basic things such as eggs or fresh vegetables is neither easy nor cheap, however this hotel offers good products. The food from the restaurant is also quite good. The Maldivian curry and the rice with Tuna were delicious.
Finally, excursions have very decent prices. Whale shark 90 USD (compared to the 500 USD that resorts charge, and it is the same sea and animals), Manta Ray (60 USD), etc.
If I am ever back in Dhigurah I will certainly stay here

The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities I could possibly need. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I had one of the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time.
The hotel’s facilities were impressive as well. The on-site restaurant served delicious meals, and I thoroughly enjoyed breakfast each morning with a wide variety of fresh options.
The location was perfect—conveniently close to the beach but tucked away enough to provide a peaceful retreat. I also appreciated the complimentary shuttle service, which was provided when I left the hotel.

Our stay at Sun Island Villa Resort was absolutely amazing! Everything was perfectly organized from the very beginning – the transfer was smooth, and just 4 hours after landing in Male, we were already transfered from International Airport, checked in and settled in our villa on Sun Island.
We were delighted that our request for an upgrade to a Sunset Deluxe Villa was accommodated upon arrival. The villa (No. 495) was right by the water – spacious, just renovated nicely designed, and impeccably clean. Waking up to the breathtaking ocean view and having direct access to the water was truly unforgettable.
The food included in the all-inclusive package was outstanding – a huge selection of dishes in the main restaurant, always fresh and well prepared. No matter your culinary preferences, there was something for everyone. An excellent à la carte restaurants (we were at thai and italian restaurants and both are highly recommend).
A lot of additional activities was a fantastic bonus – from diving and water sports to excursions, gym and spa treatments, there was never a dull moment. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable and luxurious.

BODEY - our incredible waiter, who made our dining experience truly exceptional. He was always incredibly kind, ensuring we had the perfect table with a direct ocean view. It felt like he anticipated our needs before we even asked—always nearby whenever we needed anything. His attentive and warm service made every meal even more enjoyable.
AFRIN - our wonderfull host who took care of every detail to ensure our stay was absolutely perfect and we are daily informed about all activities available. She was always available, incredibly helpful, and organized everything seamlessly, making our experience truly unforgettable. Her kindness and professionalism made us feel so welcomed.

I would give the property a 5+. Everything was exceptional.
My wife was pregnant, and I would like to thank the food manager, Mr. Husham, the front desk staff, especially Ms. Anna and all the staff who provided baggies at request, the Photo session, the boat ride, the snorkeling classes, and the wonderful shopping experience.
I love food, and my wife and I always looked forward to meeting your kind chefs during the breakfast and dinner periods and trying out all your Michelin-starred buffet-style dishes.
We love MALDIVES and thank the people of Maldives for the kindness from the Airport staff to the hospitality and openness of the people to share in the culture and beauty of the country. Long live the Maldives!!!!

Our stay exceeded our expectations. Kandima is located on a big island with plenty of activities and a huge beach that is not crowded at any moment. Despite its size, the place offers a lot of privacy, amazing views and some of the best seafood buffet we’ve had. Staff is incredibly kind, quick and efficient. I loved our ground floor studio with direct access to the beach and a terrace with a swing but also enjoyed the stylish water villa with more space and private swirl pool, a touch of luxury for sure. I highly recommend it to couples or families with kids as it was extremely kid-friendly.

Thank you for fast and smooth boat transfer, did’t have to wait at Male airport. Also thank you for early check-in so we could enjoy the holiday as soon as possible (this is the thing that is not usually available in hotels).
We got villa 181 with beautiful sand beach and view with sea and palms. Not windy, calm & clear water.
The island has about 15 beaches, explored them all by bicycle or walk. The beaches were really beautiful.
Delicious food at breakfast and Rhabarbaro restaurant for dinner. Especially like breakfast buffet with choice of a la carte menu.

We loved our stay here. We had a bungalow over the water with a pool. It was magical. We were on the side with the reefs and it was a lot less windy than the other side. and we could just go down the stairs from our balcony and start snorkeling which was amazing.
The buffet wasn't the greatest. One day, everything seemed to have tuna in it, the next was a different meat. The hot dishes, the salads etc.
It would have been nice to have more fresh food especially in that heat.
Getting around in buggies was fun.

An interesting place. Mostly pleasant people.
An interesting place. Mostly pleasant people. Uneven pavements, loads of motorbikes parked make walking difficult too. Somewhat improved over the last few years. Currently (November 2025) many public facilities closed and sitting down anywhere is clearly not encouraged.

There are plenty of water activities and options to choose...
There are plenty of water activities and options to choose from. The people are very friendly, and I felt extremely safe throughout my stay. The only downside is that evenings are very quiet, with limited nightlife or entertainment.

Hulhumale despite being busy like the rest of Male has an airy feel to it with lots of greenery - almost colonial. The East side is quiet for traffic although it's close to the seaplane flight paths - I didn't find that intrusive. The West side has the harbour with the ferry terminal and where the liveaboards anchor between trips. When I was there there had been a lot of recent building work so I would avoid staying there.
Lots of options for buying fresh fruit and vegentables if you need and a range of places to eat at different price ranges.

I loved the proximity to Male for ease of arrival and departure. I also loved looking at the city lights from afar, whilst being separated by stunningly turquoise waters and the gentle sounds of lapping waves. The marine life in the lagoon was plentiful and beautiful, and I had many marine visitors near my villa at all hours of the day. The snorkelling with sharks-excursion was probably the single best experience, but the resort itself was the star of the whole experience. The quality of the villa (amazing bed, wonderful toiletries from L'Occitane, the view, the constant refill of free fresh water and Nespresso coffee) and the rest of the resort (amazing food, world-class spa) was the stuff of holiday dreams!

We LOVED Dhiffushi!
We LOVED Dhiffushi! A real taste of a local island, the thing that struck us was how quiet and peaceful it was. We wandered everywhere on foot and loved that the roads are all sand. We were there in monsoon season and experienced some storms but they were short and everyone just gets on with stuff. There was some rubbish washed up on the non-hotel beach areas but most hotels keep their areas spotless. Both bikini beaches were absolutely stunning. Would definitely recommend Dhiffushi as a real gem of a local island. As an added bonus, we could not believe how cheap everything was too!

An amazing snorkelling beach -no boats or travel required -just thousands of colourful fish and turtles, perfect white sand and palm trees. The concession stand sold delicious, fresh-picked fruit-watermelon, papaya, bananas. We loved the Coccoa beach restaurant and the Black Anchor and the Mango House had fabulous lattes and desserts.

The sand bank and bikini beach were beautiful. Nice that US dollars are accepted but annoying that the $ needs to be pristine. Request speed boat for whale shark excursion. Nice variety of restaurants.

Ukulhas is not a tourist-friendly island.
Ukulhas is not a tourist-friendly island. Dangerous rip currents near the island have caused multiple drownings which continue to go unaddressed. The food across the island is inedible and prepared by untrained staff. The island is littered with trash and by no means lives up to its claim of an “eco-conscious environment”

The people that work there in the island are very genuine and polite and helpful, always smiling. They make your time there very pleasant. Don’t forget to tip them. Jr and Anastasia from the club house coordinators are amazing and multi talented individuals. Don’t miss their daily sport activities by the pool.
