From the soft music when entering the suite to manicured gardens- it was simply a pleasure! Mini bar prices are absolutely fair and the wlan was fast. The furniture design is well chosen and the light filled suite offers views to both sides. The Chef of the restaurant prepared an excellent lobster for us upon request (surcharge but worth it) and one can preorder a seafood platter- for future guests to know.

United KingdomAll the meals were healthy with lots of choice and well cooked and presented. The staff were amazing, welcoming, charming and with lots of smiles and attention. We were thoroughly spoilt. It was just what we needed, peaceful and very well run.
The beach is amazing, a well kept secret, a curved bay with shallow clean sand, none of the dreaded prickly anemones and with breakers gently rolling in and providing safe swimming for everyone. The spa was good. The shuttle service to the golf course worked well and we played golf 4 times on the long and interesting course. We will return as soon as we can.
We enjoyed the various entertainments during dinner, especially the 3 piece band with sax, guitar and string bass.

Always happy to provide us with lots of suggestions and information to make our stay the best possible. For me, it really is about the people I meet along my travels but not only was I spoilt with such special hosts, the apartment was stunning too! It offered us the perfect space to rest our heads and call home for a few days. Fantastic views of the ocean, really neat and tidy. The place is new and clean and just like the pics.

Excellent hotel in lovely gardens. Superb beach. Excellent location. Lots of facilities at the hotel, canoe, pedalo, etc. Wonderful pool. The food was excellent. We were on half board as we did some day trips. Fantastic choice of food for breakfast and dinner. International and local cuisines. We ate in all four restaurants/cafes. Particularly enjoyed the Coconut Cafe for local dishes. Also loved the Barbecue on the Beach one evening with Sega Dancing. Nice entertainment in the evening. Really lovely, helpful staff, can particularly mention Ajay in the Woolmar Restaurant. Room was spacious and clean. We would love to return.

This was a truly amazing place! We stayed in a smaller cottage (le Percheur) which was perfect for two. The view from the terrace is beautiful.
The breakfast was brought to the cottage. We ordered dinner one day and it was waiting for us in the fridge when we got back from our day activities, just for us to heat it up.
The surroundings and the little pool are also very nice.

Top spot for a relaxing holiday, with amazing facilities, great pools, long private beach, and excellent buffets to eat and drink from. Especially the in-house scuba diving center was amazing and offered some great dives!

Nice beach , lots of trips available . You really need a car or book trips if your staying any length of time as nothing much else to do . No nightlife during the week only Friday and Saturday otherwise everywhere shuts at 10pm

Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is impressive, in the public beach you have to possibility to see the see turtles. The place is a piece of paradise.
Definitely worth to go and to spend some time there.
I would recommend an hotel next to the le Morne beach most of the hotel do not have the possibility to eat or rent the sun bed just daily.
Also I would recommend the experience of swimming with the dolphins that is offered almost everywhere.

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius.
Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common.
Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.

Riviere Noire is a beautiful area, with good supermarkets and restaurants although some can be very expensive. La Bonne Chute Restaurant is to be avoided at all costs. Any complaint to the manager is just discarded as she was the owner. The local beach, La Preneuse, is very near, with beautiful white sand.

this is amazing place, the view is breathtaking, the chalet is spacious, very calm, the food is satisfying and the staff is very supportive and helping.
it is ideal for a short stay as if you would like to do more tours the location is bit far from everything and very challenging to reach. the best is to stay there and visit the nearby places around Chamarel.

Albion is a Mauritian village , located on the West Coast off the beaten track & away from the tourist holiday hot spots.
There is a local palm shaded beach with toilets & changing facilities, to enjoy safe swimming & magnificent sunsets.
Food & other supplies are available at the local Albion Mall Dodo Supermarket
Living with the local Mauritians enhanced our holiday experience as we got the know some of these friendly and gentle people.
You will need a hire car and Google Maps to get around

Lovely resort. Great beach. Gets very crowded at weekends. The beach is not quite as good as some of the beaches in the north, but it is still beautiful.
Quite upseting to see the amount of litter left on the beach and traffic around the resort was sometimes an issue. But the location is great and the western sunsets are stunning!
Our favourire restaurant was Mosaic, serving typical Mauritian food alongside a standard menu with burgers, pizzas and pasta with friendly service from Daniel and team.
Casela Safari Park nearby is a good day out, and a day trip to the east to visit Iles aux Cerfs was a highlight of our stay.

La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.
