Mr. GiGi and Sonia were amazing hosts and made us comfortable.
They gave us every little thing we asked for without hesitating and also helped us with the what all places to go.
What we loved the most was that it felt like our own house with so much space and the house was equipped with every little thing you need to survive the out the day.
We were touring around the country and preferred warming/cooking inside the house which was extremely convenient for us.

It’s hard to put into words the magic we experienced at Sands Resort. My wife and I chose this place for our intimate wedding and we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect setting.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with smiles, warmth, and a level of care that can’t be taught – it comes from genuine dedication. Every detail, from the beautifully decorated room, to the perfectly manicured garden overlooking the ocean, and the flawless organization of our special day, was handled with love and elegance.
The beach is simply stunning, white sand, the scent of the ocean, and sunsets that look like something out of a movie. The food is outstanding, diverse, authentic, and each bite tells a story of its own.
Our stay at Sands wasn’t just a vacation, it was the beginning of our married life in the most beautiful setting imaginable. If you're looking for a place where you'll truly feel special, where every moment is filled with peace, beauty, and thoughtful service.. look no further.

A very pleasant surprise. The villas are wonderful and very smart located inside the resort. Because everything was renovated a couple of years ago it all looks great. The restaurants, lobby area and the bar are very nice and provide a very relaxing atmosphere. The food is good, except for fruits and vegetables which are not very tasty (all import). The beach experience is great, with a very beautiful water and sandy beach with sunbeds located 10-15 m apart. The staff is more friendly than in other hotels on the island (mauritius people are not very friendly by default). Oliver was a great host on the beach and Minta a great concierge during our stay. The overall experience is great, the hotel provides you 2 times cleaning per day, complimentary treats on the beach and in the room and a very diverse mini bar. It is a hotel in which we can return anytime with great pleasure.

We spent our honeymoon at the Sugar Beach Mauritius. To put it all into one sentence: we could not have made a better choice and are soo happy and thankful for the amazing experience we had there. Everything about this hotel is exceptional: the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the great variety and perfect quality of the food, the fantastic location at the beautiful paradise-like beach, the furnishing and amenities of the room, the beautiful sea view…
What we were especially pleased with is that we did not book the special honeymoon package on the hotel’s website. We only told the reception about our special occasion a few weeks prior to our arrival via the chat. Nevertheless we received all the wonderful special gifts that come with the honeymoon package. Thank you very much!!

Perfect location right by the sea, with sunbeds and beanbags directly on the beach—an amazing spot to relax and enjoy the breathtaking sunsets. The hotel is just the right size—small enough to feel cozy and personal. There’s a supermarket, rent a car and some restaurants within walking distance, which is also very convenient. The staff is absolutely wonderful, from the owner and manager to the receptionists and waiters—everyone is welcoming and helpful. We had a fantastic stay and truly appreciate the warm hospitality. Highly recommended!

We would like to say the biggest thank you for such an amazing experience! The hospitality of La Pirogue was incredible- everyone were so helpful, fun and supportive. Amazing choices of food both at the breakfast and dinner. we also enjoyed two restaurants in the hotel and loved that we had a chance to use facilities of Sugar Beach. It felt like being in an romantic bubble. Would highly recommend this hotel! ❤️

I like everything about the hotel. The place was very clean. The food was very nice. You have plenty of choice. You have beef, lamb, chicken, fish and also you have vegetarian food. There is so much to choose from every night. The location was very central. The swimming pool looks very nice.

Absolutely awesome nature and beautiful resort. Near the ocean, also you can take boat tours like swimming with dolphins. Breakfast was also nice and clean, open buffet dinner also tasty and lots of choices.

Nice beach , lots of trips available . You really need a car or book trips if your staying any length of time as nothing much else to do . No nightlife during the week only Friday and Saturday otherwise everywhere shuts at 10pm

Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is impressive, in the public beach you have to possibility to see the see turtles. The place is a piece of paradise.
Definitely worth to go and to spend some time there.
I would recommend an hotel next to the le Morne beach most of the hotel do not have the possibility to eat or rent the sun bed just daily.
Also I would recommend the experience of swimming with the dolphins that is offered almost everywhere.

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius.
Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common.
Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.

Riviere Noire is a beautiful area, with good supermarkets and restaurants although some can be very expensive. La Bonne Chute Restaurant is to be avoided at all costs. Any complaint to the manager is just discarded as she was the owner. The local beach, La Preneuse, is very near, with beautiful white sand.

this is amazing place, the view is breathtaking, the chalet is spacious, very calm, the food is satisfying and the staff is very supportive and helping.
it is ideal for a short stay as if you would like to do more tours the location is bit far from everything and very challenging to reach. the best is to stay there and visit the nearby places around Chamarel.

Albion is a Mauritian village , located on the West Coast off the beaten track & away from the tourist holiday hot spots.
There is a local palm shaded beach with toilets & changing facilities, to enjoy safe swimming & magnificent sunsets.
Food & other supplies are available at the local Albion Mall Dodo Supermarket
Living with the local Mauritians enhanced our holiday experience as we got the know some of these friendly and gentle people.
You will need a hire car and Google Maps to get around

Lovely resort. Great beach. Gets very crowded at weekends. The beach is not quite as good as some of the beaches in the north, but it is still beautiful.
Quite upseting to see the amount of litter left on the beach and traffic around the resort was sometimes an issue. But the location is great and the western sunsets are stunning!
Our favourire restaurant was Mosaic, serving typical Mauritian food alongside a standard menu with burgers, pizzas and pasta with friendly service from Daniel and team.
Casela Safari Park nearby is a good day out, and a day trip to the east to visit Iles aux Cerfs was a highlight of our stay.

La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.
