PolandThe best thing in our trip to Mauritius, was definitely the stay in Residence au bout du Morne. Our hosts were outstanding, very helpful and full of hospitality. Meals served in Residence tasted delicious. Facilities were clean and cozy. There was AC in the room and a parking space in front of a house. The bathroom was brand new. You have also access to refrigerator. Definitely worth it.

The owner is an incredibly kind and helpful person. he helped me organize several trips and put me in touch with people who offer services such as kitesurfing. He also recommended great places where I could enjoy really good food.
The apartment is very well equipped, with a kitchen, air conditioning and a bathtub. Everything was clean and comfortable. As a solo traveler, I felt very well taken care of and completely at ease here. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling alone.

The location was outstanding. The Surf House is situated higher up the hill & the views from our balcony towards Le Morne, the hillside behind & the sea were magnificent. We enjoyed seeing the various birds in the tree canopy & watching the bats & stars at night.
Our studio apartment was spacious, light & airy & we enjoyed the privacy it afforded. Drinks on the balcony whilst watching the sunset were a lovely way to end the day.
Being on the coast road close to the bus stop enabled us to go in whatever direction we choose to explore. The buses although not running strictly to time are relatively frequent & inexpensive.
Supermarket well stocked & close at hand as our several good eateries & a wonderful Indian bakery for delicious cakes.
Although there is no actual beach at La Gaulette it's easy to access numerous fabulous quiet beaches nearby. The village of Le Morne with a local community feel is worth a stop as is Baie du Cap where there is an excellent restaurant overlooking the beach.
The duration of our stay was 9 nights but we would love to return as there is still more to see in this beautiful unspoilt part of Mauritius.

We came here for our honeymoon and stretched our budget as a result so our expectations were very high. I'm pleased to say that these expectations were well-exceeded! The entire hotel, including the room, was designed impeccably in a British Colonial style and was absolutely spotless. The attention to detail to everything was outstanding. The breakfast food was delicious and the room service quality was also excellent (try their beef burger and tomato soup!). The Heritage Golf Course was beautiful and well-maintained, with the fairway and greens all in great condition. The hotel also offered many free activities for adults and kids and we particularly enjoyed foot golf and cycling along the coast. The management also surprised us with a bottle of prosecco to welcome us on our first day, which was a great touch. The cocktails were all also excellent (try the Telfair Colada!) and the live music at night was great fun. This hotel was absolutely amazing and we'd definitely come back alone as a couple, or with kids.

The friendly staff created an amazing atmosphere for my husband and I. They could not have done more for us. From the cleaners, to the bartenders (Hansley Zanzibar especially), to the activity coordinators (Steeve Cassy was exceptional), everyone catered to our differed preferences. We were never by the pool empty handed thanks to the amazingly attentive waiters. We relaxed by the pool, swam with dolphins, played golf in one of the most stunning locations we’ve both ever seen, played table tennis & tennis, tried our hand at archery & ate and drank lots and lots. The rooms were impeccable- especially our sea view room. The bed was so comfortable & the shower was a treat. Thank you all for showing us the beauty of Mauritius! Definitely take time to explore the resort to its fullest on your first day learning about the spa packages, restaurants and activities available to you.

We stayed for 9 nights All inclusive end of December 2024.
It was really perfect, from the beginning to the end.
The beach is awesome, beach towels are provided - but only bath in the sea when you have sea shoes. There are lots of starfish.
Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner were tasty. The restaurant Playa at the beach is highly recommended (included in All inclusive)
Our beach room was spacious and useful designed.
The app from the hotel is useful too.
Despite our early arrival, the rooms were already ready for us - we did not need to wait.

The most perfect surroundings with the breath taking Le Morne at the back. Nice to be able to stay at such an exclusive area at a reasonable price. The staff was very concerned to make the stay at the place and island in general a pleasant experience. They arranged for guided tours and all are friendly and speak both English as the expected French.

The location & amazing view is what really sets Sea View apart. It really is difficult to beat. If you compare with the hotels on Le Morne it provides incredible value and in our opinion better facilities. Ornella and Eric made us feel welcome and provided lots of advice of things to see & do locally.

We loved the golf cart. The villa was clean and spacious. We travelled with the baby and they brought us everything we asked for for the baby: potty, high chair and a separate bed. Golf courses were great.

Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is impressive, in the public beach you have to possibility to see the see turtles. The place is a piece of paradise.
Definitely worth to go and to spend some time there.
I would recommend an hotel next to the le Morne beach most of the hotel do not have the possibility to eat or rent the sun bed just daily.
Also I would recommend the experience of swimming with the dolphins that is offered almost everywhere.

There’s not much to do in Bel Ombre except for the hotel...
There’s not much to do in Bel Ombre except for the hotel complex. There are also not really restaurants except those in the hotel complex. You are much better with a car. However the hotel complex is huge with plenty of facilities so you can easily stay at the complex for a few days if you don’t have a car/don’t want to go exploring.

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius.
Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common.
Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.

this is amazing place, the view is breathtaking, the chalet is spacious, very calm, the food is satisfying and the staff is very supportive and helping.
it is ideal for a short stay as if you would like to do more tours the location is bit far from everything and very challenging to reach. the best is to stay there and visit the nearby places around Chamarel.

small busting little village the driving around can be a little bit challenging as most part of the island dont expect to get restaurants open late needs to plan ahead as at 8 or 9 almost everything is closed and most restaurants close between 2 to 5 during the day not convient when you are on vacation but this how they run their business

La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.

There are a few beautiful sights to visit, the area is very green and full of trees and wildlife. The waterfalls, hills and seven colored soils are worth seeing. The Zoo is nice, but you have to pay to see the lions and a few other areas are additional cost over the entrance ticket you pay.
There are many small restaurants to eat at where you can try the local cuisine.
It is best to hire a car and drive around yourself or to get a taxi from your hotel. with the help of google maps it is very easy to get around. The roads are narrow and not many street lights so you have too be careful.

Not a good hotel for winter visits. Best rooms face South so no sun until 4pm. Hotel was about 20% occupancy resulting in no "buzz", facilities open part time and food on buffet not consumed quickly enough to be fresh.
