The owner (Guyan) went over and above to make my stay memorable. What a fantastic host! He arranged so many things for me: Pickup and drop off at the bus stop. Assisted with the booking for the Yala National Park with an early morning pickup with a jeep. Welcoming teas and delicious cakes. Complimentary tour of the nearby lake and a sunset hike. I made a booking here after I have read all the amazing reviews and I’m so glad I did. Nalin is such a nice person and just an amazing host! He contacted us after booking and we always stayed in touch. He was happy to help us with anything we needed and always provided with great tips and info. We were really touched with his hospitality. They cooked a great dinner just was for us that was included in the stay and it was soo good! Their house is beautiful, new, very clean. WiFi worked good. They even met us with welcome drinks and Nalin woke up at 4am to make a tea before our safari. Tissa itself is so beautiful town that is really worth visiting not only for Yala. We wish we could stay longer, we hope to come back again! Thank you very much Nalin 😊

We've stayed at a lot of hotels during our 3 week honeymoon travelling all of Sri Lanka, but Wild Culture Yala was hands down the best!! All the staff is super attentive, friendly and very easy going. We had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with Upul, who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable! Besides the staff the food, pool, rooms and general Atmosphere and facilities are great and well worth a 12/10 score if possible :) PS: book the safari with the hotel. The price is competitive with other options we investigated, and the driver is super skilled and the car is very good.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 days in October 2023. The hotel is located in the Yala Nature Reserve on the ocean. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel staff. The general manager of Colonel proved to be an amazing person. He gave us a real celebration in honor of our wedding anniversary. It was funny and unforgettable. The hotel itself is not new, but it has everything you need. The rooms are large and colorful. All with ocean views, comfortable enough. Many thanks to the staff of the entire hotel for their hospitality and attention to our people.

Very nice eco kind of place. Clean, calm and situated in the countryside. Ok restaurant but could be a little improved, I would say a 8/10. (Please see the Flavors restaurant nearby to see what is a 10/10) although the pankakes for breakfast were absolutely amazing and also very good birnyami. Very nice safari with a really experienced driver really worth it. And the best of the best is the carrying manager. Doing everything so that we feel safe and comfortable. Awesome work!

Our experience was absolutely excellent in every aspect! The room was impeccably clean and comfortable, the meals were delicious, and the kindness and service of the staff were outstanding. Hotel staff, they not just show the way to your room, they will notify animals around and show you! one of them called us and show sleeping crocs, second one, stopped us to show littles monkeys on trees delusions buffet great location no fence, so you could meet any creatures around The Hotel provide private safari 120$ per person, but we weren't lucky to see leopards so they gave us a discount 10%

One of the best resort experiences we've ever had!! I came with my wife and 1.5yo kid and the staff were extremely attentive and accommodating to many requests (mostly for my kid) and we had a great stay. Love love the room so beautiful, attention to detail, staff were amazing every you may want and more is provided and perfect. We saw elephants monkeys buffalo monitor lizards deer mongoose on safari. We even had an elephant wonder through the grounds. Didn’t spot a leopard though others did.

It should be on everyone’s itinerary! The safari was amazing- go for the all day! And Jami Riverside Hotel is run by a wonderful host couple and the accommodations were comfortable, clean and affordable. They will make all the safari arrangements with the park for you if you wish. We had a wonderful driver -PHN Kasun Sampath.

This place is amazing.

This place is amazing. We stay with our 3 young kids and the staff were so kind and attentive. All of the small details have been thought of and it’s a wonderful experience in nature. Lovely local Sri Lankan are served for each meal.

We’re really glad we chose the Mailagama Cinnamon Residence for our stay in Kataragama. The staff treated us with great respect and warm hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed the hoppers dinner with its absolutely delicious curries. We must also mention that the curd and honey were the best we’ve ever had.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend. Large comfortable room close to the pool, with restaurant and plenty of cold beer. We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Anyone looking for a visit to the National Park should consider staying at Tringa and booking the tour with them as they will make sure you have a great experience.

We went for leopard safari & it is in zones 5&6. Safari was excellent & saw one leopard & a bear! Hotels generally not near any restaurants so confined to your hotel for dining. Would not want more than one or two nights there.

The White House Inn is a fantastic place to stay in Thissamaharama. It’s situated in a calm and natural setting, making it perfect for relaxation. The inn is also very close to the Yala National Park, which is great for those looking to go on safari. The hotel is clean and comfortable, providing a welcoming atmosphere. The spacious lobby area is a nice spot to unwind. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, offering excellent service throughout our stay. One of the highlights was the food. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, and the Sri Lankan dishes were absolutely delicious. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the White House Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Tissamaharama is a fantastic base for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty and rich culture of southern Sri Lanka. It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences. It's a great spot for both adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend spending some time here!

It definitely is an experience worth trying.

It definitely is an experience worth trying. The tree house has all the comforts you need but yet kept on the simple side. Don't expect much and you will get a lot. Nice food Bbq and big fire lit for you in the evening to give you a chance to relax and talk about your day activities. It was great to be left alone and the silence of the night. There were times you just felt that we were the only ones there and when you needed something the staff would magically appear

It is a holy place visited by Buddhists and Hindus alike. Some Muslims also visit a mosque located in the sacred area. Buddhist usually visit the Kiri Vehera area first and then come to the Devale premises. There are circular roads to facilitate that sequence. Otherwise, one can walk to the Devale premises and then proceed to the Kiri Vehera premises. There are lot of boutiques selling various items including offerings for Devale. They are located in the town area. After that one has to cross a small bridge over the Menik River to enter the sacred area. Over the years both sides of the river have been re-organized for a better sequential experience.
