Our 3 days/2 nights in Il Frangipane have been amazing! The facility is a little tropical paradise, well maintained and well designed: perfect for some relaxing days. The room is really big, clean and with modern furniture, as the bathroom. The breakfast is big, a good mix between English and srilankan breakfast. They are a new hotel i was maybe their 5 th guest. It is pretty close to sigriya. The hotel had great view of sigriya rock from its breakfast place. It had a warm pool which was great after the lions rock hike. Most importantly the stuffs were welcoming and always ready to help us with anything with a smile. Their fresh juices and breakfast sweets are to die for. One important thing since they are new so they dont accept credit card still so please carry LKR.

Awesome location right in the jungle. We saw monkeys, squirrels and other wildlife. The cabana is basic but a decent size, it worked well for our family of 3. It's an easy walk or tuktuk to cafes, restaurants and activities. A delicious breakfast is served in their covered outdoor eating area and was different each day. The staff were great and happy to arrange our transportation, elephant safari and laundry service. Even though it rained heavily almost the entire time we were in Sigiriya we really enjoyed our time here.

We stayed in the treehouse and it was one of the best experiences of our lives. Such a unique stay, we really couldn’t fault it. The room was nice and cool with a fan and mosquito net, there were plenty plugs and windows around the room for us to look out and feel we were in the middle of the jungle! We loved hearing all the animals in the morning and the peacock that appeared each morning right outside. The hosts couldn’t do enough to make sure we had a comfortable stay - thanks so much for a wonderful, memorable stay. Also, fabulous breakfast!

Excellent place to spend few days or even weeks. The rooms are big, clean and modern. One can order breakfast, lunch, dinner and basically anything you want. The menu is it boring but if you talk to the chef, he will make you the best autentic Srilankan meal in the whole country. We had dinner every night during our stay and the chef made us such a delicous food which we will not forget. The owner is a great guy and he is always there to help you out and answer your questions in several languages ;)

Overall, very good place for relaxation and ayurvedic rejuvenation amidst salubrious and pristine environment. The room was enormous with a plunge pool and luxurious four poster bed which gave us utmost comfort and deep sleep. Beautiful spacious bathroom, plenty of storage with traditional furnishings. Lush greenery and the song of the peacocks and other birds, dancing monkeys offer lots of free entertainment. Staff were so professional and kind in fulfilling our requests including our three day extension of stay due to cyclone ditwa and road closure. Our package included wonderful elaborate breakfast and quality Ayurveda treatments by attentive therapists. Had some initial hiccups where hot water wasn't working in the bathroom which they fixed attentively. Due to being home for wild elephants, safety restrictions beyond specific time in the evening apply but the staff guide appropriately. Special thanks/Stuti to Chandana, Laksha, Ranga, therapists, restaurant and housing keeping staff for looking after us so well during our stay. Would highly recommend for guests of all ages to experience Ayugiri hospitality.

This was by far the best service we received in our 5 weeks in SL. The staff at Amaya are superbly trained- friendly, discreet, helpful. The manager was so incredibly kind and warm and during many of the very good meals; staff came up to us to ask us how we are. A sunset boat trip was arranged for us on the lake- it was nothing short of spectacular.

We stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and respectful. The food was absolutely delicious, and the place itself is beautiful and well-maintained. The only issue we faced was the poor mobile signal in the area. Other than that, everything was perfect.

I didn’t come to Sigiriya to explore the town itself, but...

I didn’t come to Sigiriya to explore the town itself, but purely for the iconic Sigiriya Rock—and it was absolutely worth it. The experience was incredible, with stunning views from the top. My friends and I climbed up for sunrise, which I highly recommend as the best time to go. Just be prepared: there are a lot of stairs—some carved directly into the rock, others metal and uneven. We visited in November just after the monsoon, so it was warm and the climb had us sweating buckets. If you plan on taking those perfect social-media photos, bring a spare T-shirt… or do what I did and let AI handle the magic! Although the ascent was tough and left us literally out of breath, the moment we reached the top made it all worth it. The views were truly breathtaking—quite fitting, since the climb already took my breath away.

A beautiful place on earth that there are lots of 360 degree...

A beautiful place on earth that there are lots of 360 degree view points. But if it rains it will ruin your plans. So make sure you depend on weatherly and visit Matale when it shows many continuous sunny days. Even on cloudy forecasts do not visit as all mointain tops then will be covered and you will not see the sights. when it is humid leaches also will be active and will become a painful experience.

Lions rock is great, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed for two nights in the end as we got to sigiriya late. This meant we ate dinner one night at the little hut which wass great, climbed the rock, then moved on to the habarana which was also interesting to wander and eat.

We chose not to climb Sigiriya (having just recovered from Adam's Peak!) but instead chose the much shorter Pidurangala which afforded a fabulous view of Sigiriya. Highly recommended. A visit to the Bawa hotel, Heritance Kandalama, is well worth it as an insight into the brilliant architectural mind of Geoffrey Bawa.

Mainly there are 10-12 attractions in Matale. As I just stayed one day which was not sufficient to visit all the places. Among them where I went were also hampered due to the rain at time to time. Generally Matele was quit good tourist destination if it is planned well with couple of days.

The weather is very calm.

The weather is very calm. Recommended time to start climb is 5.45 AM. So worthy to watch the surroundings from top of the Sigiriya. You can learn a lot about Sigiriya. You can get a guide if you want from the entrance.

Dambulla is an excellent base for exploring Kandy,...

Dambulla is an excellent base for exploring Kandy, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya. We stayed there for 4 Nights and could cover the heritage sites easily. Dambulla Caves are a must-see and so is Sigiriya (just 16 Kms. away). Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa are around an hours drive but Dambulla is much well-connected and less touristy.
