Everything was so clean and the food at the hotel restaurant was really good.(We had fried rice and koththu.) When we go to the next place , the staff took us there. Thank you so much for good services. And the view is very beautiful. staff is very good and helpful. Food is very delicious.

What an amazing stay! Beautiful boutique property with just 6 rooms. Property looks way better in reality than in pictures. Our room was super comfortable and felt luxurious. Lovely bathroom. Amazing pool which my child thoroughly enjoyed. Very helpful, kind, and smiling staff. Beautiful breakfast filled with local delicacies as well as as standards like eggs, cake, bread etc. They serve amazing fresh fruits during breakfast. My son fell in love with the mangoes and the staff were just so kind and indulged my son even when he asked for mango for dinner too (they didn't even charge us for this). The staff also organised local tours for us at very reasonable prices with most reliable car and driver. All in all, this was the best place in srilanka during our trip. Just go ahead and book it!

The view from the hotel is fantastic. Good location - it is close to the Lion Rock. There is a big gift shop and a nice cafe with hammock in 5 minute walk. Very peaceful and beautiful place. The guy from hotel kindly helped me to organise transport to Trincomalee. People who work there are very welcoming. The room was clean and spacious with good furniture, stylish. Good bathroom with hot water. The bed had a mosquito net. There was coffee, tea and kettle inside the room. They provide breakfast with the view over Lion Rock which is very beautiful.

It is a brand new family run Hotel in an ideal location, very close to the Sigiriya Lion Rock. The rock is visible from the hotel! Lovely owner/ family were very attentive to all our requests. They even arranged a superb safari for us on request. Very safe for solo/ female travellers as well. Mr. Asanka deserves special mention as the chef. His Sri Lankan dishes are a must try! Well worth the price! Will definitely come back!

The hotel was amazing - super clean, new and had a great swimming pool. The manager, Bernard, was very helpful and friendly. He recommended places to visit and arranged all the transport for us. The breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

It is a place not to be missed. The location is wonderful,serene and peaceful. There is a garden full of trees tidely reserved within the nature. You can spend relaxing time in the balcony just by the breeze under the trees.The rooms are clean,naturally maken,super tidy and cosy..there is a wooden roof and beds and furniture. The family who runs and owns it offer you whatever you need, breakfast, dinner, waters to buy and beers,sri lanka tea and coffee, tuk tuk and car for tours and safari. We will never forget the pure kindness of all the family and especially the good hearted lady of the family who is always willing to help you. Although we were not sure in the beginning to book it because there are not many reviews,as the place is brandly new and opened just in January, after our visit, we would highly recommend it.

Quiet garden, clean…you can easily walk to Sigiriya from it and we took free bicycles next day to Pidirungala. The owner helped us to organise a last minute driver because the previous driver cancelled(Pickme). Very fair advices and price for transport!

One of the best stays of our 2 month trip in Sri Lanka! Best value for money. The room was spacious and clean, great shower with hot water, and breakfast could be enjoyed on the little veranda every morning. The bed was sooooo comfortable!! Location is a bit out of town which for us was ideal, since we enjoy going on walks and exploring our surroundings. The hosts were incredibly nice and attentive, and helped us to rent a scooter, and took us in and out of town when we needed. Sigiriya was just a short ~30min scooter ride away, Dambulla cave temple is just around the corner. For us this was the perfect end to our trip in Sri Lanka, thank you!!

We had an amazing stay at Water Garden Sigiriya. The whole place is so peaceful, and it felt like we were surrounded by nature – perfect for a relaxing getaway. Our room was incredible – super spacious and comfortable, and having our own private pool was definitely a highlight! The food was great; every meal was delicious, and you could tell a lot of care went into it. The service was also fantastic, especially from Sashi, Thamidu, and Dilshan, who made our stay even more enjoyable. They were friendly and always ready to help with anything we needed. Overall, it was such a memorable experience, and we left feeling completely recharged. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a mix of relaxation and great hospitality!

Fantastic stay, we decided to add an additional night we enjoyed ourselves so much. The hotel manager/owner? Nimal was superb, he made us feel welcome and was available 24/7. We had some issues with a scooter we rented and he came with his team to where we were stranded to resolve. The whole team went above and beyond for us. Out of all rge locations we stayed in Sri Lanka, the food here topped the list. Absolutely delicious and fresh from their garden, be sure to ask for a tour! A great place to end the trip

The karanda chalet was amazing. Great design with full glazed facades; you stay completely surrounded by nature. Great staff always super kind and efficient. The plundge pool was incredibile. The surrounding are spectacular, filled with lakes, rice fields and animals.

I didn’t come to Sigiriya to explore the town itself, but...

I didn’t come to Sigiriya to explore the town itself, but purely for the iconic Sigiriya Rock—and it was absolutely worth it. The experience was incredible, with stunning views from the top. My friends and I climbed up for sunrise, which I highly recommend as the best time to go. Just be prepared: there are a lot of stairs—some carved directly into the rock, others metal and uneven. We visited in November just after the monsoon, so it was warm and the climb had us sweating buckets. If you plan on taking those perfect social-media photos, bring a spare T-shirt… or do what I did and let AI handle the magic! Although the ascent was tough and left us literally out of breath, the moment we reached the top made it all worth it. The views were truly breathtaking—quite fitting, since the climb already took my breath away.

The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a perfect space to relax after exploring Dambulla. The hotel’s atmosphere is peaceful and charming, with a great balance between modern comfort and natural surroundings. A beautiful place on earth that there are lots of 360 degree...

A beautiful place on earth that there are lots of 360 degree view points. But if it rains it will ruin your plans. So make sure you depend on weatherly and visit Matale when it shows many continuous sunny days. Even on cloudy forecasts do not visit as all mointain tops then will be covered and you will not see the sights. when it is humid leaches also will be active and will become a painful experience.

Lions rock is great, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed for two nights in the end as we got to sigiriya late. This meant we ate dinner one night at the little hut which wass great, climbed the rock, then moved on to the habarana which was also interesting to wander and eat.

We chose not to climb Sigiriya (having just recovered from Adam's Peak!) but instead chose the much shorter Pidurangala which afforded a fabulous view of Sigiriya. Highly recommended. A visit to the Bawa hotel, Heritance Kandalama, is well worth it as an insight into the brilliant architectural mind of Geoffrey Bawa.

Mainly there are 10-12 attractions in Matale. As I just stayed one day which was not sufficient to visit all the places. Among them where I went were also hampered due to the rain at time to time. Generally Matele was quit good tourist destination if it is planned well with couple of days.

The weather is very calm.

The weather is very calm. Recommended time to start climb is 5.45 AM. So worthy to watch the surroundings from top of the Sigiriya. You can learn a lot about Sigiriya. You can get a guide if you want from the entrance.

Dambulla is an excellent base for exploring Kandy,...

Dambulla is an excellent base for exploring Kandy, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya. We stayed there for 4 Nights and could cover the heritage sites easily. Dambulla Caves are a must-see and so is Sigiriya (just 16 Kms. away). Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa are around an hours drive but Dambulla is much well-connected and less touristy.
