Hotel is very clean, the cleanest hotel we stayed in Sri Lanka. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Dinner was great, chef Shalom prepared very tasteful fish and prawns. They also prepared special meal for our daughter, everything was delicious. Shalom and Shashi were very nice and helpful. They provide us late check out. We felt there like at home. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is an absolute gem in Sri Lanka. We've visited several places, and this is our favorite. It's beautifully located, allowing you to walk for miles along the beach without encountering anyone. The beach is pristine, free of litter, unlike some other places in Sri Lanka. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed. The service is excellent, and the restaurant offers a delicious and diverse menu. There are plenty of excursion options nearby, with stunning wetlands and lagoons perfect for bird watching. This wonderful place has been crafted with great care. Interestingly, it is also very affordable compared to other hotels. It's definitely worth traveling a bit further to enjoy this exceptional and beautiful spot. An absolute must-visit. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Excellent location. food was delicious made with love. we had dinner and breakfast, it was fabulous. Attentive staff, smiling and courteous. Beautiful decor throughout and attention to detail made our stay extra special. We only stayed 1 night before going to yala safari but would have loved to stay a little longer to enjoy this resort. the owner is a jolly fellow and made us feel welcome. Wonderful experience. I will give this a 10/10 out of how much the owner provided for me. The view outside is amazing, just in front of the lake. So peaceful! So the room was okay. But the best thing for me was that the owner provided me a free tour around the place, watching sunset, crocodiles, bats and owls. He also took me to the atm, supermarket, and picked me up from the bus when arriving. Everything for free. And I can also recommend going with the safari that he is providing. That guide was also amazing, experienced, and affordable.

It was really nice. The surroundings of the hotel were amazing, the owner explained everything so we didn’t miss a thing. We walked around the both lakes near the hotel and saw crocodiles, all kind of birds, etc. the property es super clean and they serve you coffee and tea whenever you want. The owner and his family were really kind, it shows how much they care a about everyone having a good stance. Really friendly, we really liked talking with them. Also no words for the amazing food they cooked. Really nice experience.

Absolutely charming boutique hotel, ideal for a family or a couple vacation! It’s located on a private beach with soft waves, so we could swim easily with my small kid. The pool is stunning. The food and cocktails are lovely! Special thanks to Zander, the owner, for his personal attention to all guests and control and care of all details during our stay. And Loki dog is our big love. Location was great. There was easy go everywhere, nice beach 100m way from. Owner and othet stuff was great and owner son (I quess so?) Offer tuktuk drives where ever you want, and cheaper than other local drivers. Room was big, clean and there was also comfortable balcony!

We absolutely loved our stay here. We were only at the hotel for 1 night but wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel staff are amazing & went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. We were able to book a safari through the hotel & they were kind enough to arrange a packed breakfast for us since we left at 5am. The grounds are lovely & well looked after and the swimming pool was great. The room was one of the nicest we have stayed in during our trip and had so many nice touches and amenities. The restaurant was also very nice & had vegetarian options which was great. It was also amazing to have room service after a long day of driving. Can’t recommend this place enough!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 days in October 2023. The hotel is located in the Yala Nature Reserve on the ocean. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel staff. The general manager of Colonel proved to be an amazing person. He gave us a real celebration in honor of our wedding anniversary. It was funny and unforgettable. The hotel itself is not new, but it has everything you need. The rooms are large and colorful. All with ocean views, comfortable enough. Many thanks to the staff of the entire hotel for their hospitality and attention to our people.

The architecture and the design is so tastefully done , it blends in with the environment. The staff and the service is on point, we were travelling with our 2 year old daughter. The staff collected our baby’s lactose free milk and served it back boiled punctually despite inclement weather conditions , both morning and evening. The attention to detail of our dietary requirements in all the meals is another call-out. We would love to visit here again .

Great authentic jungle experience, the candlelit bbq dinner was a highlight. They catered very well for me as a vegetarian, providing an amazing platter of freshly grilled veggies. Lasan and his team were excellent hosts and made sure we felt comfortable. They also arranged a great safari for us.

Stand-out experience was the boat tour (right from the dock) to the grove of trees on the opposite shore where you can see flying foxes, egrets, herons, ibis, indian darters, parrots, pelicans and crocodiles. The profusion of wildlife is incredible. Go just before sunset.

It should be on everyone’s itinerary! The safari was amazing- go for the all day! And Jami Riverside Hotel is run by a wonderful host couple and the accommodations were comfortable, clean and affordable. They will make all the safari arrangements with the park for you if you wish. We had a wonderful driver -PHN Kasun Sampath.

This place is amazing.

This place is amazing. We stay with our 3 young kids and the staff were so kind and attentive. All of the small details have been thought of and it’s a wonderful experience in nature. Lovely local Sri Lankan are served for each meal.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend. Large comfortable room close to the pool, with restaurant and plenty of cold beer. We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Anyone looking for a visit to the National Park should consider staying at Tringa and booking the tour with them as they will make sure you have a great experience.

The White House Inn is a fantastic place to stay in Thissamaharama. It’s situated in a calm and natural setting, making it perfect for relaxation. The inn is also very close to the Yala National Park, which is great for those looking to go on safari. The hotel is clean and comfortable, providing a welcoming atmosphere. The spacious lobby area is a nice spot to unwind. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, offering excellent service throughout our stay. One of the highlights was the food. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, and the Sri Lankan dishes were absolutely delicious. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the White House Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Authentic family experience.

Authentic family experience. Two beaches, bird sanctuary and a fishery. Small but beautiful temple. Big rocks for line fishing. Bird watching. Relaxing. You can walk around the village, a couple of little shops. No restaurants as such. I had home cooked food from the main house.

The owners and staff were delightful - the service great.

The owners and staff were delightful - the service great. The cabannes were in the style of my travels 50 years ago and a great reminder of how simple life can (and should) be. For eating there is plenty of choice in the area and all easy walking but not always in 32 deg 😂

Tissamaharama is a fantastic base for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty and rich culture of southern Sri Lanka. It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences. It's a great spot for both adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend spending some time here!
