*Super ultra clean. Staff constantly clean the place! *Everything we needed, the staff provided! We do not like papaya much so they prepared a banana smoothie for breakfast. Top service. Always with a smile 😁 *We arrived earlier from a horrible experience at another hotel. They immediately provided us with a room..and organised a safari there and then! As the weather seemed fine so we took the opportunity. And guess what? We saw 2 leopards, wild boards, crocodiles, deer, many birds and elephants 😀 * Dinner was the bomb! So good! We tried chicken curry hoppers and chicken cheese kottu.

The Host and his family are very nice and helpful. He already has experience since he worked in hotels before. The room is the best we had in Sri Lanka so far. It‘s very clean, the bathroom is big and modern and the location is right next to the beach. There are a lot of restaurants and bars right next to the apartment, which all have a really nice vibe. Also, the main bus station is only a 5 minute walk, so perfect for travelers. Although we only stayed 1 night we had a really good time here and wish all the best to the host :)

Great value for money. Appreciate the hospitality. I wish nothing but the best for the Art Yala team. There was a good breakfast and a lot of restaurants close by for convenience. Definitely head to the ancient temples close by. It's right next to the lake so it was very relaxing for my family.

Great accommodation in Tissa! The rooms are spacious and clean, and have a balcony with a beautiful view to rice fields. The pool is really nice. Great value for money. The owners helped organize the full day safari. Really great tour (we saw 2 leopards) with a guide that doesn’t follow the crowds and truly explores the park. The location is not super close to centre but they have bicycles we can use (just a 20min bike ride)

I loved everything about this place. I would like to start by commending Gayan, the host! He is probably the best and nicest host I've had in Sri Lanka. He sent me to the town FOC to get some of the best Sri Lankan food I've eaten, given me a free nature tour around the lake where we can see fruit bats and owls, arranged the safari at the most affordable rate I could find, had some of the most interesting conversations about plants, animals, Sri Lankan culture, etc. Everything in this place felt like a family home. We had tea at 4AM before the safari and was also welcomed back with a king coconut! The room was also amazingly clean, spacious, well decorated and came with an extra cooler fan because Tissa can get quite hot. I definitely recommend this place and would love to come back again!

Amazing place with absolutely wonderful staff. We travelled a family with a little 1 year old and got lot's of help and attention. Really tasteful and delicious kitchen - actually the best we got on our 3 weeks tour around the island. Nice and warm pool and the place is next to a fantastic and secluded beach.

Location was great. There was easy go everywhere, nice beach 100m way from. Owner and othet stuff was great and owner son (I quess so?) Offer tuktuk drives where ever you want, and cheaper than other local drivers. Room was big, clean and there was also comfortable balcony!

In one word, the Lagoon Gate can be described as a haven, or should I say heaven? It is such a serene place to stay. The place is brand new with modern furnishings. It's clean, the staff are attentive to your every needs. There's kayaks you can use to go explore the lagoon. The pool is wonderful. And the food is sublime, homemade. I'm running out of adjectives. We had the family room for us and our two children and it was huge. The rooms all have incredible views

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Kithala Thissa-Yala Resort, and it was an experience worth every moment. From the moment we arrived, the tranquil ambiance and stunning views of the surrounding paddy fields immediately set the scene for a relaxing getaway. The resort itself is immaculate, with spotless rooms and well-maintained common areas. Its proximity to the main attractions is incredibly convenient, making it an excellent base for exploring the local sights. What truly sets Kithala Thissa-Yala Resort apart, however, is the exceptional hospitality of the staff. A special shout out to Ayenaji and Surangi from the front desk, and Iresh, Janith, Gihan, Wathsala, and Pavindu from the restaurant for their outstanding service. Additionally, a heartfelt thanks to the many other sweet and most attentive hotel staff who went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. Their service was unmatched, combining professionalism with a warm, personal touch that made us feel right at home. Initially, we only signed up for the bed and breakfast deal, but the quality of the food was so impressive that we ended up dining at the hotel for both lunch and dinner. Every meal was delicious, showcasing a variety of local and international dishes that catered to all tastes. In summary, if you are looking for a place to unwind and soak up the natural beauty of Yala, look no further than Kithala Thissa-Yala Resort. The location is incredible — you’re literally in the jungle, surrounded by wildlife, with the sound of nature all around you. We stayed in this hotel for 2 days in October 2023. The hotel is located in the Yala Nature Reserve on the ocean. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel staff. The general manager of Colonel proved to be an amazing person. He gave us a real celebration in honor of our wedding anniversary. It was funny and unforgettable. The hotel itself is not new, but it has everything you need. The rooms are large and colorful. All with ocean views, comfortable enough. Many thanks to the staff of the entire hotel for their hospitality and attention to our people.

The pool is beautiful and very big. The staff also takes really good care of it. The breakfast is very diversityle and tastes really good. The staff is wonderful and really kind. Tangalle is a cozy, small city where you find whatever you need. A variety of beaches in and around in both directions, some of them really hidden gems, but also quiet family beaches where you can bring your kids.

It should be on everyone’s itinerary! The safari was amazing- go for the all day! And Jami Riverside Hotel is run by a wonderful host couple and the accommodations were comfortable, clean and affordable. They will make all the safari arrangements with the park for you if you wish. We had a wonderful driver -PHN Kasun Sampath.

This place is amazing.

This place is amazing. We stay with our 3 young kids and the staff were so kind and attentive. All of the small details have been thought of and it’s a wonderful experience in nature. Lovely local Sri Lankan are served for each meal.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend. Large comfortable room close to the pool, with restaurant and plenty of cold beer. We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Anyone looking for a visit to the National Park should consider staying at Tringa and booking the tour with them as they will make sure you have a great experience.

Weerawila, located in a dry zone of Sri Lanka, is ideal for wildlife safaris and nature experiences. This location is especially convenient during the rainy season, as it often stays dry even when the rest of the country is experiencing thunderstorms. We chose it specifically to avoid heavy rains.

Authentic family experience.

Authentic family experience. Two beaches, bird sanctuary and a fishery. Small but beautiful temple. Big rocks for line fishing. Bird watching. Relaxing. You can walk around the village, a couple of little shops. No restaurants as such. I had home cooked food from the main house.

The owners and staff were delightful - the service great. The cabannes were in the style of my travels 50 years ago and a great reminder of how simple life can (and should) be. For eating there is plenty of choice in the area and all easy walking but not always in 32 deg 😂

Tissamaharama is a fantastic base for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty and rich culture of southern Sri Lanka. It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences. It's a great spot for both adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend spending some time here!

It definitely is an experience worth trying.

It definitely is an experience worth trying. The tree house has all the comforts you need but yet kept on the simple side. Don't expect much and you will get a lot. Nice food Bbq and big fire lit for you in the evening to give you a chance to relax and talk about your day activities. It was great to be left alone and the silence of the night. There were times you just felt that we were the only ones there and when you needed something the staff would magically appear
