Olinda Galle is a small, super charming, very well located hotel just a 20 min from Galle center. The rooms are very spacious and cozy, the baths which were built to incorporate nature are a true privilege experience. The delicious breakfast, served on the terrace area outside of the room is also a highlight . The owner and host is super kind and attentive. Every minute of our stay was truly special. Amazing place 🌸 We had the best time at Animals. It’s a new place and they have done an incredible job with this little oasis in Ahangama. The style, the food, the drinks, the surroundings are perfekt and unique and the people here are the kindest and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Location is perfect, just away from the busy main road and centre, but a short walk to the Kabalana beach and with restaurants near by. You can walk and take a short Tuk Tuk to the centre of Ahangama. We absolutely loved it here and will come back for sure. Thank you 🤩

Unbeatable location in Hikkaduwa! The two main surf breaks are right at your doorstep. Breakfast included is amazing, actually everything on the menu is incredible. Staff were super friendly and very accommodating. Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. We stayed here twice on our trip and decided on the King Room with Sea View for our second stay (first stay was Garden View) both rooms were lovely but can’t beat the Sea View room. Sun beds by the beach were an extra bonus! Loved our multiple stays here.

The building is exceptionally beautiful! We had the luck to be upgraded to a room with garden view. The whole team was super kind and supportive. Location is very good, isolated beach only for hotel guests. Food and Services were out of this world, really excellent. Rooms were excellent, very big with ocean view, huge bathroom. Room boy Thusahara gave his best to have all we need in our room. One can walk on the beach and reach in 10 m several surf schools. and is 3km away from Galle Fort, Tuktuks being available in front of hotel. 25mins walk from Jungle beach (excellent secluded beach) or Peace Pagoda, worth to visit for magnificent views

Great location and facilities. Welcoming 10 min massage enticed me to book for a massage which was lovely. Yoga on site was a great way tonstart the day. The Galle Fort in Galle is my absolute favorite place — it has a vibe of its own. It’s completely safe at any time of the day, even for solo travelers. There’s so much history within the Fort walls to learn about and beautiful architecture to explore. The hosts at the restaurants and hotels inside the Fort are amazing, and the service is truly of international standard. The view of the Indian Ocean from the Ramparts is simply breathtaking. There are plenty of restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisines and dishes to try. Outside the Fort, I highly recommend visiting the beaches at Unawatuna, just a few kilometers from Galle City Centre. While you’re there, don’t miss the Japanese Peace Pagoda at Rumassala — you won’t regret it! Yaddehimulla Road in Unawatuna has everything from surf schools and restaurants to gem shops, gelato spots, international cuisines, and everything in between. For quick bites and essentials, SPAR Supermarket at Galle City Centre is your go-to place. You’ll find tasty rice and curry meals, ready-to-eat options, mosquito repellent, basic medical supplies, snacks, good-quality fruits, and other everyday necessities.

Its a fantastic place, just at the beach and well planned hotel, pools, beach, restaurants, bars, lobbys are equally catering to customer service points. We had our best hotel experience at Araliya Unawatuna. Even met the owner and had a generous chat during breakfast which is so touching and personalized service standard I believe. Easy to visit Galle Fort, just a walk to the golden sandy beaches. Staff from top management to the ground staff is well trained to give excellent customer care. We specially thanking to our 7th flour room service staff who simply helped us in technical support, bars and restaurant staff and Nethmi & Dakshika and all wonderful reception staff memebers.

Ahangama is so peaceful - it's slightly away from the busier areas around the coast. The restaurants around are in great locations, and all very calm with great vibes. It's also very easy and quick to get to neighbouring towns to visit sites, or restaurants in those locations as well.

We did not venture into Bentota.

We did not venture into Bentota. We are expats living in Colombo so no need to explore the city. The hotel was at the right spot for a 100% relaxing weekend away with no distractions. The ocean is not that swimmable as the sea was very rough and looked dangerous. The pool was a welcome alternative. We drove to Galle for the Saturday to watch the game between Springboks and Kiwis. That was not too far, one hour away and a very scenic route. The hotel was also fully booked so must be popular.

There are so many locations to see.good peoples are around & very safe are. I like the place & the area.i had great time durig the vacation.I guess that threre is 1km around to the beach & also there is a logoon.i have experience the boat safari at the lake. I wish if i could stay few more days to enjoy.

I recently stayed at La Kurumba for two nights, and everything about the hotel was exceptional! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The food was absolutely delicious — every meal was a treat. Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach, almost just the 2 of us. Visiting Mahdu Lake at 6 a.m. watching the sun goes up. A natural paradise with a lot of birds and other animals. Listening to their different noises. Dining at the Mangrove Cave Restaurant we enjoyed freshest seafood. It was just very tasty.

My favourite place was the turtle hatchery. Most meals were eaten at the Hotel. Very easy to get around. There is a tour agency opposite the hotel entrance, it cant get any better than that. It is easy to take tuk tuk or van taxis. Superior beach front view. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Well done to the management and staff for this top class facility. Local fishermen were easy to approach and social chat with.
