We had an amazing time at Animals! We loved it here so much we doubled our stay because the place is just a dream. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed in the "budget rooms" at first, which is just 10 seconds from the pool and dining area. Even though it's called a budget room, it's spacious & very well maintained and has a lovely garden, and the rooms have a large bathroom, a dressing and a terrace. The other days we spend in the double rooms in the main building which are like you're staying inside of a Pinterest moodboard. We got the privilege to meet the Swedish couple who owns the hotel & designed it into an absolute gem. They are just the best people, we talked for many hours & went surfing with them & learned so much about Swedish & Sri Lankan life during our talks. The breakfast included has so many options tot choose from and the coffees are actually the best we had in Sri Lanka. If you would be unfortunate that there is no room available in the hotel, do yourself a favour and come have lunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed! Even though we travelled a lot and visited so much nice hotels & resorts, we never had the same experience like we had at Animals! The biggest thank you to Nalin, Samon, Anndala & Arvid for making us feel so welcome! ♥️

Absolutely Outstanding Experience! Our stay at the Dormero Hotel in Sri Lanka was nothing short of amazing! The staff here is truly the best we have ever encountered – attentive, friendly, and always going above and beyond to ensure a perfect experience. Without even asking, they graciously upgraded our room because there was availability – such a thoughtful gesture that made our trip even more special. Wasn't expecting much but this place was our favourite place to stay during our whole trip! The rooms were really spacious and very clean and comfortable. this was important to us as we were travelling with 2 small kids. The staff were amazing, I didn't catch their names but the girl doing front of house and the guy helping at breakfast were so friendly. They even helped out with our baby so I could eat breakfast in peace! The whole property is very chilled and relaxing but f you want more action it's just a short walk to the main road in Unawatuna, walkable or short tuk tuk to the beach. We would have extended our stay if we had more time. There were a few negative reviews about breakfast but they've clearly upped their game, lots on offer and very delicious! We loved the egg hoppers. Thank you

Beautiful accomodation with spacious rooms. We met the owners who were very welcoming and hospitable. We travelled with a large group and everyone enjoyed their stay here. We enjoyed using the ice baths as well.

It is wonderful stylish villa as expected. Located in the heart of this historic and iconic city, we enjoyed strolling to see the sunrise and sunset and exploring the beautiful shops. The staff were very nice and helpful. Mr. Azwan arranged a car charter. It was actually trustworthy because the driver is smart enough with a beautiful TOYOTA car. If you have any plan to do that, please ask the hotel they arrange you with a best value.

This property including the staff is a true Sri Lankan gem. From the moment you step into this hotel, you immediately know that it's unlike any place you've ever been before. The roundhouse concept is genius as it provides 360 degrees of uninterrupted views of the area. I'd hate to describe the place much more because you must see it for yourself. It's a place worth the attention of Architectural Digest! The infinity pool is the highlight. With only a limited number of rooms available, you'll never find yourself crowded in the pool hence it feels almost like a private pool, which it did during our stay as we used it thrice and every single time we were the only ones in the pool. I have rated this the most serene common pool I've been lucky to take a dip in. The food is also excellent here, which you have to pick from the a la carte menu. The breakfast with the stunning morning view was the icing on the cake. Kasun is an excellent manager and a wonderful host. He along with his team comprising of the Jack of all trades, Tharaka made our stay super convenient and memorable.
