Location in tuktuk drive away from Unawatuna and Jungle beach but very private and quiet because it is away from the main road. The rooms are amazing and spacious with own kitchen and balcony. We LOVED the sun house, even though we have always stayed in really nice places in Sri Lanka, this was by far the best. The location is great, you pay around 200 LKR to go to Galle Fort. The garden and the house itself is beautiful. The food was great, one of the best we had in Sri Lanka. Really good value for money and super tasty. And the staff was simply amazing. There was always someone around and usually we even didn’t have to say anything- when we left the room, they would think of cleaning our room, if we lay down by the pool they would bring water. They remember all our wishes for breakfast (eg no bananas) and we never had to ask for it again. I want to particularly point out the service of Priyantha and Tharindu, they were lovely and always had a nice story to tell or a recommendation to give. Thank you so much for making our stay special

A very stylish and welcoming hotel with really helpful and attentive staff. Madusha, Hirantha and the team could not have been more helpful. Nice large room and a good sized swimming pool. The beach club restaurant and beach are beautifully set out. Overall, a great place to stay for a few days.

This is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed at. Everywhere you look is absolutely breathtaking. The people who work there are just lovely and make you feel very welcome and well taken care of. I didn’t want to leave the property but Ahangama is amazing and you should be explored. All in all - wonderful stay and I would go back in a second!

We got that hotel for a very good price and were really happy about the hotel although the reviews were mixed. Although the hotel is little bit old, they keep an eye on cleanliness and perfect service! Outstanding are the - staff service - most comfortable bed and pillows (like heaven!) Really good are - food - very clean (although the hotel is a little older) - pool During that time of the year, the beach in front of the hotel is not suitable for swimming. However, just a 5 minutes walk, there is a beach you can also swim during monsoon season. Definitely worth the money we spend!

Great breakfast and dinner at a reasonable price, also available for non-guests (our friends joined us for meals). The room had a dehumidifier, which kept our bed sheets and clothes dry. There was a comfortable balcony with a beautiful ocean view, and we enjoyed a fabulous sunset every evening. We traveled with our 5-month-old daughter, and the staff absolutely adored her. They were all smiling, kind, and incredibly welcoming to her and to us!

Absolutely filthy city.

Absolutely filthy city. Litter everywhere, all around the fort was dirty and had rubbish , plastic waste and broken bottles strewn around and piled up in bags. They should revoke the UNESCO rating for the fort so the government clean it up. It was months of rubbish or like a field after a festival and not just rubbish after a weekend. There were just a few rubbish bins around the ramparts but they were overflowing and broken By far the dirtiest city we have visited in Sri Lanka

Its a fantastic place, just at the beach and well planned hotel, pools, beach, restaurants, bars, lobbys are equally catering to customer service points. We had our best hotel experience at Araliya Unawatuna. Even met the owner and had a generous chat during breakfast which is so touching and personalized service standard I believe. Easy to visit Galle Fort, just a walk to the golden sandy beaches. Staff from top management to the ground staff is well trained to give excellent customer care. We specially thanking to our 7th flour room service staff who simply helped us in technical support, bars and restaurant staff and Nethmi & Dakshika and all wonderful reception staff memebers.

Ahangama is so peaceful - it's slightly away from the busier...

Ahangama is so peaceful - it's slightly away from the busier areas around the coast. The restaurants around are in great locations, and all very calm with great vibes. It's also very easy and quick to get to neighbouring towns to visit sites, or restaurants in those locations as well.

I like the place & the area.i had great time durig the vacation.I guess that threre is 1km around to the beach & also there is a logoon.i have experience the boat safari at the lake. Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach, almost just the 2 of us. Visiting Mahdu Lake at 6 a.m. watching the sun goes up. A natural paradise with a lot of birds and other animals. Listening to their different noises. Dining at the Mangrove Cave Restaurant we enjoyed freshest seafood. It was just very tasty.

My favourite place was the turtle hatchery.

My favourite place was the turtle hatchery. Most meals were eaten at the Hotel. Very easy to get around. There is a tour agency opposite the hotel entrance, it cant get any better than that. It is easy to take tuk tuk or van taxis. Superior beach front view. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Well done to the management and staff for this top class facility. Local fishermen were easy to approach and social chat with.
