The pool refreshing and well designed throughout. LithuaniaWonderful, tastefully decorated hotel. Lots of attention to detail. Cozy, quiet and clean. The hotel is in a busy area, but it doesn't feel it inside at all.
The room we stayed in has the option of sliding the glass windows and forming a common space with a terrace.
All you have in front of you is the ocean.
Arriving from the airport is really easy - almost the entire way is on a toll highway.
The hotel staff is extremely pleasant and kindly. I'm not even talking about Francesca. She's amazing!!!
Thank you for the early check in and late check out.
I haven't had a tastier breakfast in those regions. Even the espresso was good, which is rare in Sri Lanka or I haven't been in right places.
Be sure to try the massage. Something unique.

The rooms were really spacious and very clean and comfortable. this was important to us as we were travelling with 2 small kids. The staff were amazing, I didn't catch their names but the girl doing front of house and the guy helping at breakfast were so friendly. They even helped out with our baby so I could eat breakfast in peace!
The whole property is very chilled and relaxing but f you want more action it's just a short walk to the main road in Unawatuna, walkable or short tuk tuk to the beach.
We would have extended our stay if we had more time.
There were a few negative reviews about breakfast but they've clearly upped their game, lots on offer and very delicious! We loved the egg hoppers. Thank you

When we arrived they showed us to our room and offered a group dinner with the rest of the guests that was really delicious.
The hotel is full of young people ready to share some hints with you as well as their experience.

GermanyWe LOVED the sun house, even though we have always stayed in really nice places in Sri Lanka, this was by far the best. The location is great, you pay around 200 LKR to go to Galle Fort. The garden and the house itself is beautiful. The food was great, one of the best we had in Sri Lanka. Really good value for money and super tasty. And the staff was simply amazing. There was always someone around and usually we even didn’t have to say anything- when we left the room, they would think of cleaning our room, if we lay down by the pool they would bring water. They remember all our wishes for breakfast (eg no bananas) and we never had to ask for it again. I want to particularly point out the service of Priyantha and Tharindu, they were lovely and always had a nice story to tell or a recommendation to give. Thank you so much for making our stay special

Roshan and the Team made me feel incredibly welcome and taken care of: from the first moment I arrived they made sure I had everything I needed. They organised dinner even though the restaurant wasn’t open (and it was fantastic), got me breakfast at 6am, and even made me a sandwich as I arrived very late. I also got an amazing massage 2 nights in a row despite changing schedules. Hospitality pure. The Hotel is tastefully decorated, a calm oasis with beautiful details and a very comfy bed. I’d give this place an 11/10.

Very warm welcome from the people managing the place, very quiet area and room, at our arrival, and all along the stay.
The Villa is decorated with a perfect taste and refinement, large common areas, a nice yard with trees, grass, amchairs and garlands of lights at night.
We stayed in one of the 2 rooms at the frist floor. Our room was very accommodating and spacious, with a kettle for making tea and coffee. Here also a refined choice of teas.
The bathroom was huge with every possible comfort and nicely decorated. The value for money was really good.
Do not hesitate one second!

We loved Angel Beach , stayed there for 3 nights and fully enjoyed the relaxed beach vibe on comfortable sun beds for nearly 4 days. The beach is unreal > honestly one of the most beautiful white sandy beaches I have ever seen in the world !! Sea was quite wavy when we were there but still managed to walk on the beach for around 15min to reach turtle beach (much more populated !) and see a big turtle !!!
Breakfast (fresh fruit, juice, croissant, eggs etc.) and lunch on the beach and dinner we would go into Unawatuna or Galle towns which both are really nice to visit! We also went for a surf lesson in a nearby spot (we got picked up from the hotel)
Only 12 rooms in the property - many people visit the property for the day as it is really the best beach club in the area !

This hotel has a beautiful soul and truly is a perfect place to unwind. The staff is professionally trained, very nice and friendly people. Rooms are little bit outdated, but clean and all the amenities are there including slippers and bathrobe. Internet works perfectly fine and fast.
Pool is huge, definitely one of the biggest outdoor pools I have seen in a hotel, always very clean. Food is also great, there are endless options at the buffet and the a la carte menu also has nice and tasty items along with good drinks.
They offer many activities during the day, gym is small but sufficient.

It's difficult to say anything in Particular. Everything was Excellent and met above expectations I would give 10 out of 10 for the Customer Service everyone in the hotel helped out of their way to make sure you were comfortable.
The Room was quite spacious and very neat and clean. The jacuzzi in the room was excellent.
Food Was Excellent whatever was on their menu. Can add a few more options in Starters and the main course in ala carte.
I am not a person to give reviews in the forum but my stay here made me write this review as everything was to the dot perfect.

We liked the food. The restaurant had a great variety of dishes ranging from local cuisine to variety of international. Also included a bbq station. Tasty deserts. The pool and beach area are well designed. The staff is friendly and supportive for all our needs. it is difficult to pinpoint all the good qualities of the place ... Especially since we got a great offer as last minute on booking. We highly recommend the place for anyone who whats to have a short retreat.

Everything except for the few negative aspects I described but those are not so important. The room was big enough and the bathroom was oversized. The bed was comfortable.
The staff was very helpful and nice. We enjoyed our stay a lot. The beach is beautiful and not crowded as Unawatuna Beach.
I liked the location, you can find a bus stand, and tuk-tuks are very easy.

Absolutely filthy city.
Absolutely filthy city. Litter everywhere, all around the fort was dirty and had rubbish , plastic waste and broken bottles strewn around and piled up in bags. They should revoke the UNESCO rating for the fort so the government clean it up. It was months of rubbish or like a field after a festival and not just rubbish after a weekend. There were just a few rubbish bins around the ramparts but they were overflowing and broken By far the dirtiest city we have visited in Sri Lanka

Its a fantastic place, just at the beach and well planned...
Its a fantastic place, just at the beach and well planned hotel, pools, beach, restaurants, bars, lobbys are equally catering to customer service points. We had our best hotel experience at Araliya Unawatuna. Even met the owner and had a generous chat during breakfast which is so touching and personalized service standard I believe.
Easy to visit Galle Fort, just a walk to the golden sandy beaches.
Staff from top management to the ground staff is well trained to give excellent customer care. We specially thanking to our 7th flour room service staff who simply helped us in technical support, bars and restaurant staff and Nethmi & Dakshika and all wonderful reception staff memebers.

Ahangama is so peaceful - it's slightly away from the busier...
Ahangama is so peaceful - it's slightly away from the busier areas around the coast. The restaurants around are in great locations, and all very calm with great vibes. It's also very easy and quick to get to neighbouring towns to visit sites, or restaurants in those locations as well.

We did not venture into Bentota.
We did not venture into Bentota. We are expats living in Colombo so no need to explore the city. The hotel was at the right spot for a 100% relaxing weekend away with no distractions. The ocean is not that swimmable as the sea was very rough and looked dangerous. The pool was a welcome alternative. We drove to Galle for the Saturday to watch the game between Springboks and Kiwis. That was not too far, one hour away and a very scenic route. The hotel was also fully booked so must be popular.

There are so many locations to see.good peoples are around & very safe are. I like the place & the area.i had great time durig the vacation.I guess that threre is 1km around to the beach & also there is a logoon.i have experience the boat safari at the lake. I wish if i could stay few more days to enjoy.

I recently stayed at La Kurumba for two nights, and everything about the hotel was exceptional! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The food was absolutely delicious — every meal was a treat. Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach, almost just the 2 of us. Visiting Mahdu Lake at 6 a.m. watching the sun goes up. A natural paradise with a lot of birds and other animals. Listening to their different noises. Dining at the Mangrove Cave Restaurant we enjoyed freshest seafood. It was just very tasty.

Most meals were eaten at the Hotel.
Very easy to get around. There is a tour agency opposite the hotel entrance, it cant get any better than that. It is easy to take tuk tuk or van taxis.
Superior beach front view. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Well done to the management and staff for this top class facility.
Local fishermen were easy to approach and social chat with.
