RussiaHard to specify what we liked most. We liked AKI VILLA! The location is 30 minutes walk from most hotels in Pasikuda but for us it was good with not many people around. The facility is very well maintained, it is very green. Lots of mango, coconut trees and palms on the territory. The pool is warm, very clean and welcoming :) We had breakfasts included - it was Sri Lankan type, very tasty and it was enough till dinner in the evening. Dinners we had there were one the best meals we ever had. So tasty. The lady that cooks all meals is fantastic. We even asked for some recipies.
Beach - should I say- empty beach is just 7 minutes walk from villa. Most likely you will be accopanied by two lovely dogs from villa. And they will guard you as well if someone tries to come close to you.
The staff - Mr. Vinod was extremely helpful, he helped us to get a medicine from local pharmacy, gave us a tent for the beach and tried to fullfill our every smallest wish. So if you want to have calm and peaceful time it is definately the place.

We stayed at Passi Villa in Pasikuda for a peaceful vacation, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was smooth, and the staff greeted us warmly, making us feel right at home. The villa had a calm and tropical atmosphere, which set the perfect mood for relaxation.
Our room was spacious, clean, and had a stunning view of the beach. Waking up to the breathtaking sight of the sunrise the morning was one of the best parts of our stay. The calmness of the surroundings, combined with the ability to watch the sun’s first rays over the ocean, made each morning feel magical. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the décor added to the serene, coastal vibe. The bathroom was modern, with all the necessary amenities.
One of the highlights of our stay was the swimming pool, which offered a gorgeous view of the beach. It was beautifully maintained and perfect for cooling off after a day in the sun. We spent a relaxing afternoon there, enjoying the peaceful ambiance, the beach view, and the great service by the poolside.
We dined at the hotel restaurant several times, and the food was delicious, especially the fresh seafood.
The location of Passi Villa was ideal for a beach getaway, with easy access to the ocean and water activities. The calmness of the surroundings allowed us to truly unwind, making it a perfect retreat.
Overall, our stay at Passi Villa exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend it to couples looking for a tranquil and romantic escape. We look forward to returning soon!

No disturbances on the beach at all !! Very seldom you find something like this for yourself only. Very peaceful and great place to stay !!
The Sunny weather and sandy beach was a perfect location for our stay ! We prefer privacy for our stay and which we found at Giman Free Beach Resort.
Great staff and free wi fi, great sea food straight from the local fisher folk from the daily catch !!
We were told there is traditional Ayurveda treatment at the Resort by our friendly UK guest at the Resort but we did not have time to experience same.
We will be back next year !!

Beautiful garden clearly made with a lot of love and care, idyllic location near the beach while still quite close to town centre. Really relaxing lovely place! The room was really lovely and comfortable. Also I forgot something in the room and the owner was super lovely about it and very motivated in looking for it and giving it back to me.

Apart from the beach there is nothing much in walking...
Apart from the beach there is nothing much in walking distance though we did go for dinner at Bayceylons which was very close and good. Hotel excursions expensive but there’s a local company that do fishing and snorkelling trips at a good price.

Batticaloa is very good city, peaceful, less traffic, sort of more rural touch as compared to Colombo. People are also very cooperative and helpful in all ways. Its a small town. The beach is also very neat and clean.
There are many local restaurants and hotel. We can find good food there.

Kalkudah is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka!
Kalkudah is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka! The water here has an amazing emerald colour and it is very clean, transparent. It is a very long and beautiful sandy beach with a free natural spirit, with hardly anyone around. We enjoyed swimming almost all the day! No tourist attractions but some restaurants like Laya Waves are and Swiss Cafe on the shore are the options. Kalkudah works fine for yoga, meditation, walking along, etc. There are some cows and their manure in some spots, but it is better than plastic garbage. Some days the waves were bigger than Passikuda, but no corals on Kalkudah. Comparing to Passikuda we liked Kalkudah much better. Passikuda is over crowded with a long chain of luxury hotels and is not as beautiful. Anyway if anyone is coming with children Passikuda has shallow waters, as well as some tourists attractions. In any case, on Kalkudah one can dig a hole in the sand for children, where the ocean water will come, while making the natural baths that way.

Batticaloa was warm and humid, but that is more than made up for by its breathtaking beauty and abundant seafood. The town is exceptionally clean, surrounded by water, and radiates a serene charm. Pasikudah, in particular, took our breath away. With its pristine beaches and tranquil waters, it’s nothing short of amazing—a true gem on the eastern coast.
