Great location for the walk up Adams Peak. The staff were very helpful with a good local place to eat and timings on when to start walking. Also great breakfast in the morning and they allowed for a slightly later check out which wasn’t needed but good to know.

Where to begin? The garden is absolutely beautiful—an ideal place to relax and unwind. The staff were wonderfully attentive and genuinely friendly, making us feel completely at home. Even though we stayed only one night, we left feeling deeply refreshed. The food was the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka so far. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!

Cottage San Francesco is a place that you can't miss in Nuwara Elyia! We loved the place, location and room it was very clean, moreover the host gave us a better a room with a wonderful view without adding any cost, where we enjoyed a breath breaking sunset! The breakfast was so delicious while enjoying a beautiful view on the hills, honestly the best food we had in sri lanka! Services as tuk tuk or driver are provided easily from the host. The tuk tuk guy helped us discovering hills tea factory and he was also very nice to go around with a local one! This is the perfect place where spend some nights to take a rest and relax! Don't miss this place!!

Roshan and his family are lovely people. The first night I arrived they were celebrating a birthday party and invited me to join and also eat their food. I drank arack and danced the night away. I couldn't walk for days after that and had a hangover the next day but it was all worth it. The room itself is cosy and the bed comfortable. If you want a nice friendly host family this is the one.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Croft Cottage! The property is a stunning British-style 3-storey villa, beautifully designed and immaculately maintained. The location is excellent, making it both peaceful and convenient. The cottage has lovely common areas that make it feel warm and inviting, perfect for relaxing together. All facilities are top-notch, thoughtfully provided, and everything worked seamlessly. A special mention and heartfelt thanks to Taranga, the housekeeper, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable in every way. His attention to detail, hospitality, and genuine care made the experience exceptional — he truly elevated our time here. Overall, Croft Cottage is the perfect blend of charm, comfort, and luxury. Superlatives pour, as they must for this piece of living history, still a members club for well-heeled Colombo society, set in the lush wooded Highlands of Sri Lanka. For Brits the portraits of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip (Churchill props up the bar), borrowable ties and jackets for dinner in the formal dining room, billiard rooms, tea in the reading room browsing Whitakers Almanac from 1956, hot water bottles, sweeping views (and weather) indistinguishable from those from a country house in Shropshire, render the experience surreal. Dinner was a great spread, the Sri Lankan breakfast a must. Stacey provided a warm and professional greeting, ask too for Hasim's short tour of the public areas. All the staff were unfailingly courteous and helpful. Room number 3 was glorious, well appointed and maintained with a large bathroom, all looking over the estate's perfectly groomed parkland.

This was our most expensive place to stay in Sri Lanka and we did not regret single rupi :) The view, the common area, the room which has heated beds! they cook food with ingredients from their own garden which they happily show to you. they also offer us tractor tour at their fields :) we felt so noblese with the way we were treatad. At the end of out stay they also cleaned our tuktuk! so thoughtful and friendly staff!❤️

Great location in the heart of the city with close proximity to all key destinations and attractions in Nuwara Eliya. The property was kept very clean and the interior was well arranged. The food was good although limited in variety. The manager and the staff were very professional, cordial, and very accommodating. This will be the only place that we will look for our next visit to Nuwara Eliya.

Besides doing the incredibly beautiful hike to Adams Peak, you can hire a tuktuk driver to guide you to Morey's Waterfall. the best waterfall we got to hike to in Sri lanka, challenging 1 hour hike but you'll get to stroll thru lush tea plantations and walk along side Lake Morey.

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local...

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local experience, NanuOya is a good town to visit. It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!

The location is off-the-beaten track a bit if that’s what you like. Personally coming from England I didn’t need to see Nuwara Elyia (little England), little point when I live in England! I enjoyed being in the middle of nowhere and in a peaceful environment before hitting the city of Kandy.

Wonderful place to stay and good place to explore. We went to Lover's Leap Waterfalls, Gregory lake, Sita Temple, Hanuman Temple, Labookellie Tea Centre, Ambewela Farms, Victoria Park, Hakgala Botanical Gardens and Grand Hotel.

Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be able to reach the top. It was over-crowded and the path is narrow the last 500 meters. Got stuck in one spot for 45 minutes and decided to turn around. Still got amazing views though and the experience of local pilgrimage which was a privilege!
