This hotel screams old English etiquette with a modern touch . Really one of the best hotels and I highly recommend. We had a great stay here. As soon as we arrived Amali helped to sort us a tuk tuk for a tea factory tour & to see all the waterfalls for a good price. The bed was huge and very comfortable especially the thick blankets. The breakfast was also very tasty and was lovely to chat with Roshan & Amali who are very friendly. We loved visiting Nuwara Eliya and this guest house was a great place to come back to after seeing the sights.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Croft Cottage! The property is a stunning British-style 3-storey villa, beautifully designed and immaculately maintained. The location is excellent, making it both peaceful and convenient. The cottage has lovely common areas that make it feel warm and inviting, perfect for relaxing together. All facilities are top-notch, thoughtfully provided, and everything worked seamlessly. A special mention and heartfelt thanks to Taranga, the housekeeper, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable in every way. His attention to detail, hospitality, and genuine care made the experience exceptional — he truly elevated our time here. Overall, Croft Cottage is the perfect blend of charm, comfort, and luxury. Worth every penny, heritage building is spiced up with modern comfort, even simply staying within the hotel compound counts as sightseeing. Service easily meets international 5-star standards, and the surrounding flower and tea gardens, mighty firs, and hills bathing in clouds will make you feel disconnected from the current world reality. On the other hand, if you need to connect, their wifi works great.

Truly exceptional service. Every member of staff down to the "trainees" in the restaurant were incredibly warm and attentive. I stayed with my Mum and every member of staff seemed to go above and beyond to ensure we were constantly greeted with a smile and cared for. This was our favourite hotel to stay at in Sri Lanka.

Incredible views and so quiet, all you hear are birds. Food is good too. It’s in a quiet area off Nuwara Eliya closer to Horton Plains and really made our trip.

The location is close to the town centre so everything was very accessible. It is set back from the road so quiet. Chalet design is unique and fun! Staff very attentive and helped in every way possible. Breakfast set me up for the day in a very comfortable dining room.

Besides doing the incredibly beautiful hike to Adams Peak, you can hire a tuktuk driver to guide you to Morey's Waterfall. the best waterfall we got to hike to in Sri lanka, challenging 1 hour hike but you'll get to stroll thru lush tea plantations and walk along side Lake Morey.

A nice area to do a lot of treks amongst the tea plantations . central location if you need to drive up to hill station of Nuwera Eliya or experience the wild life at Horton Plains, A lot of Hindu Kovils to explore in town of Hatton and Tea Factory experience at Dunkeld Tea Factory.

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local...

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local experience, NanuOya is a good town to visit. It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!

The location is off-the-beaten track a bit if that’s what you like. Personally coming from England I didn’t need to see Nuwara Elyia (little England), little point when I live in England! I enjoyed being in the middle of nowhere and in a peaceful environment before hitting the city of Kandy.

Wonderful place to stay and good place to explore. We went to Lover's Leap Waterfalls, Gregory lake, Sita Temple, Hanuman Temple, Labookellie Tea Centre, Ambewela Farms, Victoria Park, Hakgala Botanical Gardens and Grand Hotel.

Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be...

Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be able to reach the top. It was over-crowded and the path is narrow the last 500 meters. Got stuck in one spot for 45 minutes and decided to turn around. Still got amazing views though and the experience of local pilgrimage which was a privilege!

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .The hilly terrain is a planners dream. I imagine the buildings painted pastal pink and yellow, flower pots hanging from the eves, it could be a destination rather than a quick stop to buy supplies on the way to elsewhere as is now.
