The palace is very quiet and cozy it feels like home. Well located, very nice view, and garden. The food is very pleasant, the chef is very talented he made the food experience very good. We booked half-board (breakfast and dinner). The staff were very friendly, literally everyone even the planters guy’s. Everyone is smiling.

This cottage stay was everything I could have hoped for! Perched in the hills, it offered breathtaking views that were a treat to wake up to every morning. The serene atmosphere made it the perfect escape from city life. The breakfast was absolutely delicious—fresh, hearty, and full of local flavors. Ask for the Sri Lankan breakfast; it was amazing!! We had a truly wonderful stay at Croft Cottage! The property is a stunning British-style 3-storey villa, beautifully designed and immaculately maintained. The location is excellent, making it both peaceful and convenient. The cottage has lovely common areas that make it feel warm and inviting, perfect for relaxing together. All facilities are top-notch, thoughtfully provided, and everything worked seamlessly. A special mention and heartfelt thanks to Taranga, the housekeeper, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable in every way. His attention to detail, hospitality, and genuine care made the experience exceptional — he truly elevated our time here. Overall, Croft Cottage is the perfect blend of charm, comfort, and luxury. We spent two nights at Langdale Boutique Hotel by Amaya and absolutely loved it. The hotel is tucked away in the middle of endless tea fields, and the views are just stunning, it feels like a little world of its own. What made our stay so memorable was the incredible staff. From start to finish, they made us feel so welcome and genuinely cared for, nothing was ever too much trouble. A special thank you to the reception and wait staff, as well as Chef Guiamme, who not only cooked us the most delicious meals but also took the time to share his recipes for Coconut Jam, Dhal, and Onion Sambal. We can’t wait to try them at home and share them with our friends and family. Such a thoughtful gesture that made our stay feel extra personal. We were kindly upgraded for our stay and the room was very comfortable and cozy, and we both slept so well and got the perfect recharge after exploring. We also loved the facilities — the heated pool was perfect after a day of adventuring, the mini golf is a nice touch and the walks around Langdale’s estate were peaceful and beautiful. We also used the laundry service which did a truly excellent job and refreshed our belongings for our onward journey. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka, and we’ll look back on it fondly. If you’re looking for warm hospitality, beautiful surroundings, and truly outstanding service, Langdale is the place to stay.

The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking 24 hectares of tea plantation, surrounded by luscious mountains. It is the perfect combination of peace and isolation amidst a breathtaking scenery. The hotel staff are very attentive to guests’ needs - be it booking car transfers or showing the best hike routes in the area. This place is a gem and we look forward to coming back.

Besides doing the incredibly beautiful hike to Adams Peak, you can hire a tuktuk driver to guide you to Morey's Waterfall. the best waterfall we got to hike to in Sri lanka, challenging 1 hour hike but you'll get to stroll thru lush tea plantations and walk along side Lake Morey.

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local...

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local experience, NanuOya is a good town to visit. It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!

The location is off-the-beaten track a bit if that’s what you like. Personally coming from England I didn’t need to see Nuwara Elyia (little England), little point when I live in England! I enjoyed being in the middle of nowhere and in a peaceful environment before hitting the city of Kandy.

Wonderful place to stay and good place to explore. We went to Lover's Leap Waterfalls, Gregory lake, Sita Temple, Hanuman Temple, Labookellie Tea Centre, Ambewela Farms, Victoria Park, Hakgala Botanical Gardens and Grand Hotel.

Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be able to reach the top. It was over-crowded and the path is narrow the last 500 meters. Got stuck in one spot for 45 minutes and decided to turn around. Still got amazing views though and the experience of local pilgrimage which was a privilege!

Hatton is the second largest city in Nuwara Eliya District has so many places to visit.The Adams peak is the most venerated place in the area.Many reserviors and watterfalls can see in this area.Seven virgin mountains,Sri pada Forest can be explored during the stay.

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .The hilly terrain is a planners dream. I imagine the buildings painted pastal pink and yellow, flower pots hanging from the eves, it could be a destination rather than a quick stop to buy supplies on the way to elsewhere as is now.
