We always try to stay in a boutique hotel when we travel. This ticks all the boxes from room to facilities and the most friendlies of staff. Hotel was very clean and had a nice restaurant serving very nice and locally sourced food and drinks. Hotel personnel were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Location was good too, only 15 minutes walk to the Heerbrugg train station. Overall a very nice place.

Host is always available, one press of a button from a frontdesk and being super friendly. Room was very spacious, for sleep there were blackout curtains which could block any sunlight (also there were mechanical blinds from outside the window). Many good TV channels. Coffee capsule machine inside the room and also ketle avalaible. AC was good, not too loud but not very quiet too (air noise only though), minimum fan setting is still quite powerful. We had a room facing backyard, very quiet, occasional vehicle would rarely go by. Bathroom was great, with amenities of four star hotel, only slippers and a robe missing! Twin beds can be pushed together. Bakery onsite is worth visiting! There is bus stop nearby which connects to old town and trainstation (403 and 404).
