This is a newly opened, family owned hotel that is bright and clean with contemporary furnishings and fantastic staff! The owner and several family members work there, and they are genuinely interested in their guests and their comfort. There is a simple breakfast offered (toast, cereal, baked eggs, juices, coffee), which is enough to start your day. There are several nearby restaurants, but it is also a short and very safe 10-minute walk to the waterfront where there are many other restaurant options. The local buses stop nearby ( It is a 1 minute walk to the main street) where you can catch transportation to the national park, the express/intercity bus terminals, or everywhere else in town. The beds are comfortable and all the regular toiletries are included ( shampoo, conditioner, body wash). The owners speak fairly good English as well, so you will get your questions answered and your needs met. I highly recommend this hotel and the city of Sokcho!

This place was the best hotel I've stayed at in Korea and its so clean, modern, and well designed for a pleasant stay that its hard to describe. Easy parking access, comfy beds, huge TV, bathtub and modern shower, quick check-in, late check-out, and pleasant staff! The amenity kit is big, and the soaps smell good. Views are nice too, and restaurants nearby are plentiful! Worth a stay.

Travelled solo to do some hikes in seoraksan national park. It was a little further away compared to other hotels however, for the cleanliness & comfort, I would definitely forgo the time on the bus to stay here again.

This review is for Yongpyeong Resort - Dragon Valley Hotel. Good hotel reception gave us the most pleasant experience. Our booking was at the end of February this year. For that booking, we had the apartment, but we arrived hotel by transport. The initial arrangement, the front desk reception, (nice gentleman which looks similar to "Yan can cook" celebrity chef looks like) the gentlemen - unfortunately we can't remember his name as we don't speak good Korean. This nice and kind gentlemen have helped guide us to the apartment under the same umbrella. He also offered to upgrade us to a hotel as we had kids around, but we politely declined the offer as we booked the apartment. We had arrived at the apartment to check in but it was very unsafe to get to the apartment due to we need to push the stroller along the road, but overall the apartment it was a very nice accommodation either. We decided to go back to the hotel front desk to look for help. Once again it is that nice gentlemen who saw that we were push a stroller with a 2 years old girlgudp. He persisted in arranging a room for us, even though it was the extreme peak of the March bank holiday in South Korea – everyone was there for skiing. We were very grateful to him for his kind and welcoming personality who helped us find the room and change our booking from apartment to hotel. The hotel room is more expensive than the apartment and he tries allocate us a room that does not incurring too much cost to us. We manage to have the change of booking from the apartment to the hotel room and we have an extremely pleasant stay in the hotel. Also kudos to the night front desk lady who is so fluent in English, with her help, we were able to find our way to the alpaca farm with ease. Overall, the stay at this hotel is extremely nice and we enjoyed the skiing experience. The whole trip to Yongpeong is wonderful and we will be glad to be back again. our sincere appreciate for the kind front desk staffs.

What a beautiful place to stay! My room (spacious, welcoming, very modern and with a great bathroom) and a balcony overlooking the sea. The hotel is in a magical spot, not in the centre of Sokcho (but I had been there before, I wanted to explore the area) and you can really get an authentic experience with the atmosphere and the food. The convenience store inside the hotel is not a rarity in Korea, but I am still not used to it, I think it's so cool and convenient :) Super recommend if you want to visit the Daepo Port area.

We enjoyed the convenience of the hotel. There were many, many amenities for everyone to enjoy. My child loved the water park. There is an arcade, mini golf, laundry facility, as well as karaoke. You can hike on the trail, hang out on the beach, and work out if you want. We had multiple places to eat and a 7-11 convenience store that had everything we needed. Our ocean view from both rooms were amazing! The rooms and bathrooms were clean and spacious.

It was a good price, clean and spacious rooms. The resort is surrounded by nature. Seorak mountain is a place highly recommended to visit. There is a good hike but go prepared with drinks, snacks and take time to rest. We didn't eat at the restaurants as we had our plans but there is a restaurant and a convenient shop on the same level where reception is located. You can get there a lot of emergency food and drinks and basically all you need.

Location was great for our intended trek and the scale of the place exceeded our expectations. The staff were very helpful, including telling us our planned route was closed. The main restaurant was closed earlier than we expected, but we'd been caught by Korean earlier eating habits before. So we had the chance to eat at the on site convenience store, which was fun.

We had a great stay at the condominium. The kitchen is equipped with microwave, fridge and other essentials. Hot water and heating are good and sufficient during winter. We got 1 bedroom with proper bed and the other room with ondol. The shuttle van to and fro the train station is on time every 20 mins.

Gangneung is a quaint fishing village. It was very quiet when I was there...I think summer season just ended. Very picturesque, tons of restaraunts and coffee shops. Great place to go on drives just to look around.

Fall is a great time to visit nearby Seoraksan Park. Beautiful colors, dryer days, and cool temps for hiking. The markets in Sokcho are bustling, and there are lots of great places to eat. Easy to get around by walking, bus, or taxi

During the winter season, Pyeongchang comes alive as a hub for winter sports enthusiasts. We stayed in Hongcheon for easy access to Vivaldi Ski Park and Nami Island. It was near to Nami island thus we do not need to travel up from Seoul. Beautiful place. You will need to private transport to get around Hongcheon

Absolutely love Wonju and all it has to offer.

Absolutely love Wonju and all it has to offer. Less than 2 hrs from home it’s a nice day trip or weekend getaway with Chiaksan and Oak Valley right there. I’d also make this drive just for the peach marinated bulgogi.

We love walking to see the real town/city.

We love walking to see the real town/city. Enjoyed Chuncheon, easy walking, tidy, varying architecture. Love the alleyways, parks and markets. People are quiet but helpful when they can. Taxis great More written english translation would help with menus, directions etc We managed all the same.

We particularly enjoyed going out to the adjacent fishing village, Isabu. It has good restaurants, coffee houses, and a seawall with wonderful views of the coast that is popular with locals and tourists.

Gangneung is a quite and beach city. Connectivity through train was good. I hired a rent a car and car is a must for swift movement and to cover the areas. Beaches are clean and worth to spend time. coffees are good.

So beautiful!

So beautiful! Great to get out of Seoul for a bit for some mountains in the east. The mountains are just breathtakingly beautiful... I love hiking up these stunning mountains with 80 year old Korean grandmas and grandpas in their full set matching tech hiking gear. Hehehe!!! I felt like such a novice. Sadly, I couldn't attempt the highest peak, but got up to Ulsanbawi and the view...!!!! Don't underestimate the late 1 km. Hahaha. It's a killer staircase. Absolutely beautiful. The bus from Seoul to Seokcho is super comfortable, easy to book on Klook, around $15US. You get one stop along the way for a quick bathroom break. You can also quickly buy some food or drinks. I wish I had more time in Sokcho. Would have loved to explore the beaches and the lake. Apparently walking barefoot is all the rage! A lovely middle aged lady was explaining to me at the bus stop. There are barefoot paths along the lake etc

It was very cold during our stay, so we didn't walk much.

It was very cold during our stay, so we didn't walk much. We mainly skied. The infrastructure is well developed, there are shops, saunas, swimming pools and cafes. The mountains are not very high, but there are many slopes for varied skiing. We use only Mona YongPyong slopes. Our 16 y.o. son got injured on the slope, the Rescue service worked very quickly and professionally. Bravo!
