SwitzerlandWe went there to organize with the manager/owner of the lodge, David, our safaries into Tsavo East, Tsavo West und Amboseli for January.
Already the communication by mail before was perfect and during our visit in the lodge and discussion with him, we got now a good plan and offer for the 4 days in January for 3 people
At the same time we found out, that we felt on this one day visit very comfortably with the Reception, the kitchen, the friendly staff and service, a good double bed, protected by a good and big mosicito net.
The dining room made us feel relaxed and the bar looks quit well equipped, african music made this dinner just perfect
We look now forward to go back there in mid of January and go then with David and his 4 wheel Drive on Safari.

Sentrim Tsavo East Camp is a great place to stay, perfectly located in the heart of Tsavo East National Park. Surrounded by lush greenery, the camp blends beautifully with nature, offering a truly immersive safari experience. One of the highlights is the watering hole, which attracts elephants, giraffes, zebras, birds, and other wildlife—easily observed right from the dining area.
The tents are spacious and comfortable, featuring well-equipped bathrooms. The swimming pool provides a refreshing escape after game drives. The service was outstanding, with a warm and attentive team ensuring a great stay. The food selection was diverse and delicious, including a taste of authentic Kenyan specialties.
At night, the experience becomes even more magical as you can clearly hear lions roaring nearby, adding to the wild and thrilling atmosphere. The staff was focused on safety, making sure everyone was okay after dark given the proximity of predators outside the camp.
Tip: Enjoy a drink by the pool and indulge in a massage for the perfect way to relax between safari adventures!

What can we say to praise Ashnil Aruba sufficiently! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome, our tent was immaculately clean, cool and comfortable with excellent bathroom and storage, a comfortable bed and a view beyond all expectations. The full board option was far beyond what we had expected for the price, so many delicious options to choose from for each meal.
The location and site in the heart of Tsavo East are indescribable, the views are wonderful and the pool is a lovely surprise addition - we even watched elephants, zebra and gazelle while we were in the pool!
The staff at the lodge are such a delight, every single member of the team was so kind and friendly as well as being very professional. Their service and dedication really made us feel welcome and well looked after for the whole of our stay. Thank you so much for the perfect safari stay, we loved every minute.

We spent 4 wonderful days in this hotel. It was a brilliant place to rest after the earlier safari. We stayed in a tent which was very well decorated. We liked very large beds. The camp is extremely quiet, wild animals ( elephants, zebras ect.)approached the tents and the restaurant almost every day! There is no fence, but it is very well protected. Very good food, which is not so common in this type of places. Bravo to the cook! The entire team is extremely nice and helpful! Very nice swimming pool. We really recommend this place, specially that is not very very expansive:))

The staff at this hotel were lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was absolutely beautiful, much more than we expected! Clean, light and comfortable more than big enough for 3 of us! The pool was warm and clean with loungers and towels. Food was a buffet style with lots to chose from so we were all happy! As we were full board, we took a packed lunch with us on the day we left and that was to the same high standard as dinner and breakfast had been in the hotel.

Driving to the lodge didn’t encounter many animals due to bush and lava rock. But at Serena we saw hundreds of animals including many small babies come to the large waterhole right in front of us. So we did not bother with safari drive. This made for a very relaxing stay

this trip was just a stop over in Voi for one night because my destination was Mombasa. But previous trips to Voi was great because one can visit Tsavo east and Tsavo west as well as some of the private wildlife sanctuaries from Voi. I always stay in Impala Safari Lodge in Voi, this time however I made a mistake to pick Oasis.

Unfortunately the lack of rains for the past three seasons have impacted the wildlife, and there were many dead animals. But the upside to this is that those larger animals still in the tourist area of the part were concentrated around water holes. Making them easier to view.
Access to the NP is very expensive (USD 100 per person) for a non-Kenyan resident. While this is a tax which helps keep Rangers and other staff in work, it seems elitist and unaffordable for the majority. Some of that money would be well spent on improving the tracks within the park. They are extremely uncomfortable to travel along and, even in a 4x4, quite dangerous. With our vehicle regularly sliding out to the sides.
The best advice on seeing wildlife is to be a little adventurous and take some of the less regularly used tracks. We were able to see elephant, Greater and Lesser Kudu, all the big cats except leopard, snake eagles and many other bird species.

We were booked on full board at Salt Lick Resort and I can confirm that the food was delicious.
It is very easy to go around Tsavo. I drove around myself, though I was given a guide for the game tours.

Voi is a superb tourist destination.
Voi is a superb tourist destination. I recommend this for both local and foreign tourists. The view of the mountains is breathtaking. If you can manage to sneak in a trip to Tsavo Park, then that would be amazing.

Voi Wildlife Lodge has some extremely peaceful spots during the day when the majority of people are out of the hotel. Within hours of arriving I usually can feel my muscles unwind. The views are breathtaking, and the ability to be so close to the animals is fun. The staff is incredible and would probably pass for a four star hotel.
There are only two major downfalls. One, is that there is not WiFi available in the rooms. Two, is that it is starting to show its age. If the owners invest some money to update things it will be right back up where it was the first time I visited five years ago.
