Fantastic boutique hotel set in a tranquil part of Diani Beach. Modern and clean rooms, very spacious and we even had a beautiful sea view. We were on a full board plan and for foodies with an appetite, this was amazing. Great variety of food and the quality was fantastic. Lovely cocktails as well. The hotel is literally steps away from the sea and in a private compound, so felt safe at all times, means you don't get hassled by any people trying to sell you stuff whilst relaxing. Even then, this part of Diani Beach is definitely more peaceful than further south where there are more large resorts (so the sellers tend to focus their efforts there). Finally I must mention the excellent service from everyone here. Jas and Selma welcomed us to the hotel very warmly and were on hand to assist with any of our queries throughout our stay. Whenever we wanted to arrange to do any activities eg water sports, massage, etc - this could be done via Mercy at reception! And not to forget all the friendly and fun restaurant staff (special shoutout to Jason). Thank you all again!

The hotel exceeded all our expectations. It is practically brand new, so everything is absolutely clean, hygienic and fragrant. The rooms are almost luxurious, excellent air conditioning, comfortable beds, mosquito nets (although we did not see a single mosquito for a week in December), spacious bathroom. Absolutely great daily cleaning service, towels, bathrobes, shower gels and shampoos - all with the hotel emblem. Possibility to have breakfast in the room, on the ground floor, or on the fantastic roof terrace. There is also an unbeatable panoramic pool with perfectly clean and, most importantly, optimally warm water. All the staff were very helpful and accommodating, especially we want to thank Joseph and Bahati for their hospitality. From our point of view, the hotel was comparable in quality to a better five-star hotel. Breakfast was a choice of 4 options, which was quite fine for a week's stay. The kitchen, as well as the roof bar, are available all day and cook quality food. Our family spent a wonderful time at the hotel all days of our stay. A tuk-tuk regularly took us to the beach with a very good and not expensive restaurant, a 5-minute journey and only 2 USD. Thank you very much for everything Marikeko.

Our stay was just incredible. What a beautiful resort! We had the room with sea view. (If you’re a sunrise lover, you’re at the right spot). We had good working AC in the room, that helped a lot because it’s very humide which is normal when you take a hotel near to the beach! And we had mosquito nets, the staff came every night to spray again, daily cleaning also. Everybody was so friendly, the food was super good and there was so much choice from traditional plates, to european an asian plates it’s definitely worth taking all inklusive. The resort had everything you need and the staff was always happy to help. The staff also comes by from time to time to serve you drinks when you’re on the deck chairs on the beach. And a lot of security staff 24/7 who chase the monkeys also 😂 which didn’t bother us at all because you opting for an hotel which respects nature and this is what we absolutely loved in kenya how they still try to combine wildlife with humans. I absolutely recommend this hotel. Thanks again for having us. Hope to see you again

I LOVED this place. I wish I had stayed longer! I had a large beautiful room with huge terrace facing the main pool. Bathroom was massive with both shower and bathtub. All was super clean. Nice water pressure. Soft large towels provided in the room and extra towel for pool/beach given at reception anytime. Good working WiFi in rooms, common areas and beach restaurant. All staff I encountered were very helpful and friendly, from security, housekeeping, reception, restaurant, gardeners... I felt very welcomed all the time. Food was also very tasty, and very reasonably priced! Many options to eat!

The staff of the hotel is very kind and helpful, at all times, accomodating to every wish. The room, that we stayed in, was large enough and had everything necessary for a comfortable trip. The room was cleaned daily and the towels changed regularly. The meals served in the restaurant was varied and delicious, everybody can find something to eat according to their tast. The pool area is kept very clean. There are sufficient sunbeds and additional towels for all the guests.

Very hospitable and kind staff serving us breakfast, lunch and dinner. Amazing variety of fresh foods! The tea was phenomenal and the pool bar staff was so wonderful. Very lovely staff cleaning our rooms . Very organised resort Wonderful food. Teresia was so kind and looked after all of us. The head of security was excellent as well! A lovely chap named Sunday cleaned our room for half of the week and he was lovely and taught us some Swahili words!

It was an all inclusive property with a massive amount of choice for food and drinks. It is right next to the beach and has excellent pool. Further, the Baobab Resort is in a compound with two other properties and one can use the facilities of all three properties whiteout any restrictions. Finally, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I wished I could rate them 12 out of 10!

Diani is beautiful and I work about 1.5 hours away, so I stay for a 2 months every year. I have stayed at many places and this is in my top 3 for sure. I generally hate dealing with the beach boys in Diani but there's nothing any hotel can do about that. This hotel does have great security, so at least there's always something there if you are getting harassed by them while eating or on their property. I appreciate that so much. I felt safe there and it was very peaceful.

Its a nice place with a beautiful beach with clear blue water. Water in the apartments are however salty, I assume its because of the beach surrounding the area. Food and activities are expensive around this area.

The spirit at Kaya Kwetu is one of love and tranquility and, together with the constant sounds of the waves and the birds, feels a bit paradise-ish. Lindsay and her team are very attentive and helpful from first contact, special food requirements, transport options and late checkout. The creativity and vibe of the unique rooms has one transported into another world and it's all relaxation and connecting with nature. From the "jungle pool" to the beach walks and healthy meal options, a stay at Kaya feels like rejuvenation therapy :-)

Perfect.

Perfect. I wrote a previous outstanding review but Booking.com only posted my two comments from “suggested improvements”, which were inconsequential but gave a negative impression. The property was lovely, steps from an amazing white sandy beach fringed with coconut palms. I loved lolling on the comfy cushions on the roof terrace in the evenings. Cecilia who looked after us was amazing and a great cook. Her fish curries were to die for. The bed was comfy and the mosquito nets a great asset. The community pool was well maintained with a fabulous on site masseuse, Habiba. Amazing relaxing vacation would highly recommend.

Its a great beach with ample outdoor facilities.

Its a great beach with ample outdoor facilities. The only annoying thing is the constant harassment. One cannot enjoy a lazy day on the beach as you are constantly, non-stop being harassed by people that try to convince you in spending your money on nothing.

Ukunda is a great place to visit with family and also friends.The best place to watch the sunset on Kongo river and the beach is clean with white sand. We very much enjoyed each morning watching the monkeys jump around in the trees surrounding us Also amazing food at the estuary with very good price and friendly customer service. Overall : A beautiful 👌🏾 , friendly and peaceful place to be.

amazing beach, white, clean most times, palm trees. exactly like in paradise, snorkelling, windsurfing, jetski, sand bank walks were available we ate mostly in the main restaurant of Neptune Palm Boutique and Spa. But I can also recommend Sands Nomad or Alibaba restaurant.

Mostly private resorts however not far from Diani and accessible from Mombasa. The Likoni Ferry (which is the only way from Mombasa Island to the south) can take some time to cross- we took almost three hours when we first arrived.

Diani Beach is a beautiful white-sand beach with lots of restaurants around, making it easy to get meals for lunch or dinner. The thing I did not like about Diani Beach was the number of sellers who were selling things and were a bit aggressive in doing so. There were so many of them; they did not leave us alone. They sold everything from bracelets to offering trips to the nearby Marine National Park.
