Everything about this hotel was exceptionally good. The location is like a small oasis in crowded Shibuya. You only need to walk a few minutes to be at the center of the action. The staff is very courteous and the rooms a very modern. One thing definitely has to be highlighted: The kitchen is absolutely amazing and we want to give a special thanks to the chef Davide who is a amazing person and a phenomenal master of his craft. He understands to make amazing Japanese food but also shows his Italian roots.

The room looks exactly as at the photos, perfectly clean. Cleaning may not be performed every day, but a change of towels and hygienic kit is provided daily. Good sound insulation, no noise from trains heard. Light and air conditioning are switched on/off from a control panel by the bed. A microwave, an ice maker and some vending machines are at the first floor. Groceries, eateries, bus stop and train/metro station are at a short walking distance. Convenient luggage storage system. The staff are example of Japanese professionalism and hospitality, had no problems with communicating in English with them.

Great location three minutes from the station. Lots of food around. A lovely village atmosphere, nice contrast to the hustle and bustle of touristy areas, yet just a short train ride from them. Also a stop for the trams (toden) which were quite delightful to see. Much love to the loft design too, which was great for hanging out after a day of exploring. Might be a little tight though if you are tall or well-built. Had a great walking tour around Otsuka with one of the OMO guides too.

In a very quiet part of the city, but only 5 minutes from the ginza line. You can walk to Harajuku in 20 minutes. Plenty og restaurants close by. If you want a gym, Oasis gym is a small one close by, has drop in for 2200 yen. Super clean hotel, there is a family mart and a cafe on the first floor.

Many restaurants nearby although Sugamo is a small part of Tokyo. Hotel is very near train station 1-2 mins walk and only few stops to Nippori to take skyliner to Narita airport. Onsen on top floor to relax after a long day of walking.

I love Tokyo but the crowds have become overwhelming.

I love Tokyo but the crowds have become overwhelming. We only sorry 3 days in Tokyo this time ehich was a bit short. The popular tourist areas are so busy and have become very commercial. Asakusa had some beautiful small streets and we loved the kitchen precinct. It was nice to visit the shrine at night once the crowds had thinned out. So many great restaurants near the hotel too.

What have preferred to stay in Tokyo, but a friend suggested it because we were meeting her. But she didn't tell us about meetings she had and we could have stayed in downtown Tokyo for about the same price. Good location if you need to be in that area with the hotel at the station.

Hachioji is the gateway to the Fuji lakes and beyond. The surrounding areas can be accessed easily by train or car. Mount Takao is a short train ride away. At the same time, Hachioji is a relatively short train ride from Tokyo.

Fuchu was a wonderful town to stay in on the outskirts of Tokyo. It has a slower, more relaxed atmosphere than central tokyo. The people were friendly and there was plenty to do and see. The tree lined main street leading to the temple was beautiful. And there were some local parks that were nice to walk to.

Musashino is a Tokyo city suburb - accessible to central Tokyo in 20 minutes. Musashino area includes Kichijoji with a huge variety of dept stores, shops, eateries, restaurants of all cuisine types, and also the wonderful large Inogashira Park and its large pond, as well as Ghibli Museum. Nearby are more sedate areas of Nishi Ogikubo and Mitaka.

Machida has everything you need for shopping plus the Odakyu...

Machida has everything you need for shopping plus the Odakyu Line into Shinjuku or the Yokohama Line into Yokohama if you need to hit the big time. Still comoared to most North American towns, Westerners will think Machida is HUUUUGE and super busy. For Kanto region I'd saw it's a hub for Kanagawa but manageable. Food choices at and around the station are excellent. Hotels are way cheaper than in central Tokyo yet you are only 30 to 60 mins on any train to wherever you need to go. Direct buses from Narita and Henda airports as well so no need to deal with hauling luggage on trains. Or just takyubin (courier) luggage to Mahcida from airport.

Kichijoji is a great area in the western suburbs of Tokyo.

Kichijoji is a great area in the western suburbs of Tokyo. We explored the beautiful Inokashira Park and other points further west such as Chofu and Koganei. We ate at a great izakaya that specialises in squid called Totomaro. There's plenty of shopping, including Don Quijote and Yuzawaya. Kichijoji is on the Chuo line which connects with Shinjuku and Tokyo stations. It's also really well serviced with buses.

There are buses and taxis, but you may have to wait quite a bit of time. Many of the restaurants will close during the afternoon and early evening, so be sure to have some snacks prepared or stay in a place with a kitchen.

There is so much to do in Tokyo that it can be difficult to know where to start. There is something to interest everyone. However crowds and wait times can really hamper people who are staying for a limited time. I would suggest reservations where available.

Love this neighbourhood.

Love this neighbourhood. I lived in Japan for several years, 2 decades ago, and I have gone back a few times for a visit. First time for me to be in Tachikawa. It has great vibe, a bit of hustle bustle, but not crowded and suffocating like Shinjuku or Shibuya. Lots of shops and cheap restaurants. Not touristy at all and you can observe locals doing their everyday business if that is your thing.
