What can I say...marvelous stay. It was my girlfriend's birthday and they decorated as requested. Clean hotel, amazing staff, good complimentary breakfast, umbrellas available when it rains and pretty decent location next to the river. I even extended my stay for an extra night of how much we enjoyed this hotel. I definitely recommend it.

Excellent hotel in the middle of Kyoto. The hotel is new, just opened, very beautiful, great style, combining modern and classic japanese style Rooms are very big (!!!), very wide, a lot of space next to beds, size that is not common even for Europe, letalone for Japan (we had a room for three). Price is also very very good. Personnel super profy, the whole place has a super cool vibe. We also stayed in Kyoto at another hotel, at the same price, and they don't even begin to compare. Also very close (10 min walk or less) to Teramachi shopping street, and Nishiki market.

Everything :) All staff were so friendly, informative and professional. Very fluent in English too which we really appreciate. I had a nice experience at the spa. Clean and spacious room. Location was good, although a few minutes walking distance from major sights and attractions. But all doable by foot or bike and metro station connecting to Kyoto central station is close by (3 mins). Convenience stores around the corner (Family Mart, 7 Eleven) as well as restaurants and a superb (!!!) coffee place (named In the Coffee). Staff were friendly and helpful. Possibility to store luggage upon early arrival as well as late departure. Would be nice to have a safe/lockbox in-room, but we just took our valuables (esp. passports & wallets) with us when leaving the room. Didn't have breakfast or dinner but there were special offers, happy hour and even a DJ hosting the evenings available. Looked nice. Room is small - as expected in Japan - but everything available that's needed and options to store luggage under the bed. Would definitely recommend and come back when in Kyoto again! Arigato gozaimashita, ASAI Kyoto team.

This was a finding!!! Great location, easy access, near to the food street, markets, metros, and bus. They had a nice lounge to relax at the evening with some food and drinks at our convenience. Rooms were big, staff was very friendly, great english and food was good. The price at the time was very good for everything we got!! Definitely would stay there.

The most welcoming staff..we arrived last for the final shuttle bus which was full so the driver came back to collect us after he had finished! He was extremely kind! Comfortable,.old fashioned charm rooms with soothing music on the radio, lots of toiletries and a very deep bath and 3 large single beds. So comfortable plus comfy night gowns. Delicious Japanese breakfast and western breakfast buffet with lots of choice. Games room for children with a selection of Japanese candies for free. Great location and superb value for 2 nights.

The best hotel in Kyotan, the breakfast is very good, the rooms are very clean, the perfoneli is excellent, there is everything you are looking for, it is very close to the subways, but if you are a person who likes to walk like me, the location is perfect. And watching the sunrise from the hotel room window every morning was a unique beauty for me. The most beautiful hotel in Kyota. Thank you, if I come again I will stay in this hotel.

The hotel had a really nice atmosphere and the staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was bigger than expected and had nice free amenities and a vinylplayer, which was absolutely cool. The lounge area was very cosy, yet a little small. It was very nice to have free snacks and drinks after a long Day of exploring Kyoto. I would definitely stay here again :)

Great location, kind of equidistant between Gion and the Train station. Next to a massive temple which is free to look around and stunning Staff were exceptional and extremely helpful. The room was clean and the cedar bath was lovely. We ate at the restaurant and were very impressed by the fusion Japanese cuisine and excellent Kyoto wine Would definitely stay there again

Facilities were great and it was very clean and well-maintained. Location was very convenient, we even had a view of Kyoto station. Though a bit of a tight fit, which is normal in Japan, it was still very comfortable and every bit of space was purposeful. We could still open 2 large luggages, not all the way though. Everything was provided. Really good value for money ☺️

I would recommend a minimum of 5 nights in Kyoto in order to enjoy so much more than just the big temple or shrine spots where most tour busses take you. Kyoto has some wonderful alternative experiences if you prepare for them in advance. The creative arts, the marshal arts, the variety of cuisines, can be explored in and around Kyoto with guides who provide special knowledge and experiences in each of the 5 areas of the city, north, east, west, central, and south. The only things the city does not provide is adequate space for comfort in walking the streets or finding seats on busses in many of its most crowded areas. Taxis are limited due to driver shortages. Learn the subway system: It's great for getting a seat and getting somewhere fast. Enjoy all types of Japanese cuisine and the many 'ethnic foods' around the city. Walk the length of Kiyamachi-dori and Pontocho. Walk the Gion Geiko district and the Nishiki Market street for sure starting from behind the Daimayu Department Store (Explore their basement market as well as that in Takashimaya. Nishiki market street leads easterly into the Teramachi district between Shijo and Sanjo streets. I loved Kyoto soI I chose to retire here ten years ago.

We did not know what to expect.

We did not know what to expect. Our visit was in December so it was pretty quiet. We had rain the first day but we were able to do most of the highlights on day 2. We walked the entire beach path had lunch and walked it back. Very nice walk.

The staff was awesome!

The staff was awesome! They did everything in their power to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Room is extremely small by US standards! Room could use a microwave, the only one available was on the ground floor and I was on the 7th.

Kameoka is the starting point of the famous and historical Hozu River rafting ride that takes you to Arashiyama, home of the famous bamboo forest. Enjoy the rafting, enjoy Arashiyama and take the train back to Kameoka. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the station. A perfect day.

Gionmachi is a wonderful section of Kyoto and offers much to see and experience. It is easy, maybe 15 to 20 minutes taxi to other areas of Kyoto that are also beautiful, historical and traditional. Overall, this is a place I would come back to because I have much more to see.

This was a return visit as we had seen some things as part of the overall tour in Japan. A lovely country where respect for each other is normal anywhere you go. Really lovely food too at reasonable prices.

Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three natural sites in Japan. The land bridge spans across the sea is fun to view from the observation points (on both sides) and you can actually bike (20 minutes) or walk (50 minutes) one way across. A small town with lots of charm and beauty.

I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas. If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai. Like taking a day trip from your home. If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.

I loved this hotel!!! The service was outstanding. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The location was perfect - close to town but not in town. We walked everywhere and felt very safe. Close to the train station as well. I will certainly stay here on my next trip to Kyoto.

We definitely could have spent more time in Kyoto.

We definitely could have spent more time in Kyoto. We did manage to partake in the Hozugawa River ride and that was stunning and a highlight for our group. Navigating the train network was easier than expected. Will be back and allocate more time for Kyoto.
